Solution:
We have so different teaching methods, but silent way method is the best in all. I want
to apply this method in my language teaching classroom. The silent is the name of a
method of language teaching device by Caleb Gattegno. It is based on the premise
that the teacher should be silent as much as possible in the classroom but the learner
should be encouraged to produce as much language as possible. The silent way share
a great deal with other learning theories and education philosophies. Silent way
learning is facilitated leaner to discover or create rather then remember and repeats
with is to be learned.
A silent way lesson typically follows the standard format. The first part of the lesson
focuses on pronunciation. Depending on the student’s level, the class might work on
sounds, phrases, even sentences designated on the fiddle chart. At the beginning stage
the teach will model the appropriate sound after pointing toward the symbol on the
chart. Later, the teacher will silently point to individual symbols and combination of
utterances and monitor student’s utterances. The teacher may say a word and have
student guess what sequence of symbols compromised the word. The pointer is used
to indicate stress, phrasing intonation. Stress can be shown by touching certain
symbols more forcibly then other when pointing out. After the sound of the language
sentence patterns, structure and vocabulary are practiced. The teach models and
utterance while create a visual realization of it with the colored rods. After modeling
the utterance, the teach will have a student attempt to produce the utterance and will
indicate its acceptability. If a response is incorrect the teacher will attempt the reshape
the utterance or have another student present the correct model. After a structure is
introduced and understood the teacher will create a situation in which the student can
practice the structure through the manipulation of rods.
Solution:
Teaching English as a foreign language I would prefer to teach writing skills through
novels rather the poetry. Novel plays an important role to develop language skills
because students have a change to increase their vocabulary and can sharpen his
writing skills. Successful novel writing cannot be defined simply to a single set of
predefined features. Successful writing has multiple profiles. Successful writers
produce novels with more syntactically complex sentences and with a the better
control of text cohesion. Besides a basic goal to write novel accurately, free of
grammatical errors, student should consider stylistic factors such as choice of word
sentence complexity, text cohesion and length of their novel. Direct quotation is used
when students want to retain the original wordings of the quoted text. Lexical verity
refers to interesting word choice and effective use of vocabulary and writing. Lexical
variety is an important part of successful novel writing, because it can make novel
sophisticated and interesting. While developing novel writing skills knowledge
transformation approach is very important. Writer should know everything about
topic. He think carefully about what information and situation he is talking about.
Teachers can improve writing skill through meaning full activities. in order to develop
good writing skills teacher should arrange writing competition among the students so
that this competition can improve their writing skills they can coup up their mistakes
and try to avoid them. So the have command on plot characters and story structure
and their confidence help them to write a good novel in short time.
Another activity which can help to make novel attractive is that teacher should held
reading activities in classroom. Because a good novel writing skill demands a perfect
command on language and it is possible through reading activities.
