Professional Responsibilities Handled:

As a key employee in the NEA Engineering Department in providing

technical assistance to 121 Electric Cooperatives, a Senior Engineer
A has the responsibility of assisting the Division Manager and
Department Manager in the validation and technical evaluation of
engineering work plans, evaluating designs and material
specifications for the improvement of the distribution system,
reviewing and recommending methods and standards that will
make the system more efficient.

Other actual responsibilities include the closeout of underground

distribution lines in Batanes Electric Cooperative, Inc.
(BATANELCO), submarine cables in Eastern Samar Electric
Cooperative, Inc. (ESAMELCO), technical inspection of the Modular
Diesel Generator sets of Davao Norte Electric Cooperative
(DANECO), technical evaluation of the Power Supply Contracts of
Electric Cooperatives such as the grossly disadvantageous contract
between PROSIELCO and SIPCOR, and closeout of distribution line
projects of Electric Cooperatives. Primarily, the designer is
responsible for the technical assistance to the Electric Cooperatives.

Significant Engineering Responsibilities Handled:

Among the several responsibilities handled, the designer considers

being a Technical Working Group (TWG) member for the
construction of 10 MVA substation of the Sto. Domingo Substation
of ALECO as one of the most challenging projects the designer had
handled. The goal of the project is to create additional capacity for
ALECO and the reduction of voltage drop in the area.

In the substation project, the designer is among those responsible

in the creation of the Bidding Documents, Terms of Reference (TOR)
for the power transformer and its accessories, design and
calculation requirements with respect to the construction of the
project.

Another achievement is the supervision of linemen for the Boracay

Rehabilitation for two months. The work program included the
relocation of distribution lines, kWh meter clustering, and
distribution transformer pullout and replacement.

Significant Engineering Works Performed:

There were several significant works previously performed but the

most significant is the yearly conduct of the Distribution
Development Plan (DDP) and the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Plan
of ECs.

The plans were made to comply with all the technical standards set
by the latest provisions of the Philippine Electrical Code, Philippine
Grid Code, and Philippine Distribution Code. As such, several
engineering analyses were conducted to come up with a credible
plan.

The engineering analyses include short circuit analysis, reliability

analysis, voltage analysis, loading analysis, and distribution system
loss analysis. These analyses were used to evaluate whether the
technical performance of the distribution system complied with the
provisions of the codes stated above.
