    5. Specific course information


    a. Brief description of the content of the course (catalog description)
    This laboratory introduces to the lab tools such as com3lab and Multisim
    workbench. Topics to be covered include: I-V characteristics of diode.
    Clipping and clamping circuits using diodes. Rectification using diodes. Zener
    diode and regulators. BJT dc biasing. MOSFET dc biasing.

    b. Prerequisites or co-requisites
    EE 212: Electronics (1)
    c. Indicate whether a required, elective, or selected elective (as per Table 5-
    1) course in the program
    EE 313: Electronics laboratory (1) is a required course in the Electrical
    Engineering Program (Communications and Power tracks).

    6. Specific goals for the course


    a. Specific outcomes of instruction, ex. The student will be able to explain
    the significance of current research about a particular topic.
    The students will be able to:
    1. Recall and apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
    to the analysis of basic electronic circuits.
    2. List of various types of diodes and their applications.
    3. Write, formulates, design and solves basic electronic engineering
    problems.
    b. explicitly indicate which of the student outcomes listed in Criterion 3 or
    any other outcomes are addressed by the course.
