    DIALOGUE NAUSEA AND VOMITING IN PREGNANT WOMAN

    Nurse : Assalamu'alaikum mother, is this true with Siska’s mother?

    Patient : Wa’alaikumsalam, yes really nurse

    Nurse : well mom, my name is Intan, you can call me nurse Intan. I am on
    duty nurse who shifts at noon today. According to the contract this
    morning, I will review the nausea and vomiting here mom, the goal is to
    find out the nausea and vomiting that you feel. Is mother willing?

    Patient : yes, I am willing

    Nurse : I'm sorry mom, if I may know, why do you feel unwell mom?

    Patient : Look nurse, I am 3 months pregnant and I am always nauseous and


    vomiting, and I have been in treatment for 2 weeks.

    Nurse : Then what changes mom?

    Patient : Yes, nurse, and the doctor said I would be allowed to go home if my
    condition was much better. The nausea and vomiting that I feel have
    subsided. But I am worried nurse because until now the nausea and
    vomiting have not stopped, will it not affect my fetus nurse?

    Nurse : After being treated yesterday Mom, after nausea and vomiting did you
    immediately feel weak and could not stand up?
    Patient : No nurse, it's just that I have no appetite now.

    Nurse : fine mom, let me check your mouth first.

    Patient : Yes nurse.

    Nurse : Excuse me, I’ll check it

    (checking the mouth for canker sores or not)

    Nurse : after I check , it turned out that there were no canker sores in the
    mother’s mouth, usually because there was canker sores, the mother
    had no appetite and was nauseous and vomiting.

    Patient : But my mouth tastes bad nurse.

    Nurse : Mothers, nausea and vomiting are normal things at 0-3 months of
    gestation. Because pregnancy causes many changes in the mother's
    body system. But mom, don't worry because it's a natural thing. If
    yesterday the mother experienced excessive nausea and vomiting it was
    due to excessive rejection by the mother's body. Due to pregnancy, it is
    a foreign object to the mother's body and therefore rejection occurs by
    the body system. But that response is a natural thing. So you don't have
    to worry too much because you are still past the normal stage at this
    point.

    Patient : Then nurse, why hasn't the nausea and vomiting stopped mom?

    Nurse : The nausea and vomiting will gradually stop mom. Because the
    mother's body will adapt to the changes that occur in the mother's body.
    But you can do things that can reduce your nausea and vomiting.

    Patient : What is it nurse?


    Nurse : if you eat, don't eat in large portions, mom, but better in small portions
    but often or you can eat dry biscuits or toast just before getting out of
    bed in the morning. Then if you can, mom should avoid foods that are
    oily and have a distinctive smell. Because it will trigger nausea. Then
    after every meal it is better for the mother to sit up straight because it
    can prevent the feeling of wanting to vomit. And mothers do not
    suddenly stand up when they wake up in the morning because they will
    feel lax, nauseous, and vomiting.

    Patient : oo. I see, nurse, yesterday I was advised to do the same thing you
    mentioned earlier but I have never tried it regularly.

    Nurse : why don't you try?

    Patient : because I'm not sure nurse

    Nurse : give it a try mom, God willing, there will be changes. Usually changes
    will appear after 3 days, mom.

    Patient : OK nurse, thank you for the advice.

    Nurse : yes, you are the same, I hope that what I suggest you can try to do it so
    that nausea and vomiting will decrease, omm. Okay mom, thank you
    for your cooperation, nice to meet you and have a good rest. I will
    excuse me ma'am, assalamu'alaikum

    Patient : yes nurse, wa'alaikumsalam
