The AFI5100 is a programmable input controller used as part of a SiPass integrated


system. It provides a local interface between the central controller (AC5100 or AC5200)
and the devices used to monitor a facility‚ such as infrared detectors.

When an input device that is connected to an AFI5100 changes status‚ the AFI5100
registers the status change and forwards this data to the central controller. After check-
ing the validity of the data‚ the central controller sends the message to the SiPass inte-
grated server‚ so the alarm-handling mechanism can respond appropriately.

Description

The AFI5100 has 32 input ports onboard for the connection of a wide variety of alarm
and monitoring devices. Each input can be supervised individually to ensure that an
alarm is reported instantly if tampering is detected.

The AFI5100 also includes four auxiliary relay output connections to make it possible
to connect peripheral devices like strobes or alarm buzzers to enhance the security of
the installation.

The ATI5100 provides full support for enhanced fire override. This technology greatly
improves security by discerning false fire override events from the real thing, preventing
intruders from forcing a fail-safe scenario and thereby possibly gaining access.

The AFI5100 is programmed with the latest flash memory and can therefore be up-
dated with ease via the field level network (FLN) configurator software.
