Summary:
A yeti tries to escape from a wealthy businessman Mr. Burnish, who intends to use the
yeti to prove the existence of yetis to the world. One night when Yi woke up and went up the
roof, she discovered a magical creature hiding from the people who want it back. Yi discovered
that the creature was a yeti that came from Mt. Everest. He just wanted to be home with its
parents. They try to escape from the goons and travelled across China without realizing. One of
the problems that they faced is that the blueberries are so big that it popped right out the brush.
Then they reached the Yellow Mountains and the drones came out of nowhere that they are
caught by the goons and they have sight where they send the report to Mr. Burnish, after that the
yeti made the dandelion huge that they can ride it to the desert but Jin did not grab the hand of
Peng and they got separated. The goons interviewed Jin on where they are going but Jin did not
know where they will be going. They landed on the desert because the drones crashed upon the
mountains. They rested upon a river and saw koi fishes swimming against the current of the
water. Yi explained that koi fish represent perseverance so they had to keep going. They reached
the village and dressed up the yeti to blend in with the buffalos. The goons came and circled the
yeti so Peng came up an idea to help the yeti by slapping the butts of the buffalos. They escaped
with the help of Jin sacrificing his phone for a boat. The captain caught up with them so the yeti
used its magic to help get away from the bad guys and landed in the field and made a giant.
Continuing their journey, they had reached their destination and they saw a place where his
father dreamed about to go. It is where Yi tried to play the violin and the flowers grew because
he played it beautifully. So they reached the Himalayas. While crossing a bridge, they are
trapped on both sides by the Burnish Industries forces. However, Mr. Burnish experiences a
change of heart after seeing Everest protecting the children; causing him of realization with the
yeti who protected him. Seeking to exploit Everest for scientific research, Dr. Zara injects Mr.
Burnish with a tranquilizing Everest as well, Yi tries to protect Everest but Dr. Zara throws her
over a bridge. However, she still manages to cling on the rope. Then she used her violin that had
been repaired, to summon auroras which reinvigorates Everest, who breaks free to his cage. Dr.
Zara makes a last-ditch to kill Everest but the poacher killed herself along with the Goon leader.
To protect the yetis from humanity. Mr. Burnish agrees to help, and Jin keeps his existence a
secret. They all continue the journey to Mt. Everest where they reunite Everest with his Family.
Returning home to Shanghai with the help of Mr. Burnish, Yi spends more quality time with her
family.

Review:
Abominable was such a great film to watch. Both adventurous and beautiful, it’s a must
see for both kids and adults. The yeti is cute and has magical powers to save them. The story has
many lessons that we should learn and should be applied in ourselves. The story was fictional yet
very inspiring to others especially to the ones that believes in myths because it can give them
hope that there are still other creatures that may be true and just living in places we can’t go. This
animated adventure is sweet and entertaining enough to keep viewers amused, and it shares a bit
about Chinese culture and underlines the importance of family, friendship, and teamwork.
The movie is really stunning to watch which is probably our favorite thing about this
movie. The animation is out of this world. The sceneries and backgrounds were gorgeous to look
at. It is truly amazing to think how far animation has come All cast members of the film were
incredible and made each character unique. Another part we like about the story is when Yi
played the violin to save Everest, Jin and Peng. Yi played the violin beautifully which we liked
more. The time when Yi, Jin and Peng jumped just to help and be with Everest to reach his
home. Even though they faced a lot of problems and bad casualties they still stayed together no
matter what happened. They are always there for each other, not leaving anyone behind. When
Everest finally returned to his family, we felt dramatic. At last, Everest is home and so as Yi,
Everest made her realize that she has her own home, she has her own family too.
If there were parts of the movie that we liked, of course there are also the parts that we
hated. The antagonists were against the yeti and were planning to kill it. When Dr. Zara betrayed
Mr. Burnish because all they want is money and fame. The part when they tried to kill the kids
and the yeti, they thought it was all over and they all knew that their prices were paid. Another
hated part was when Nai Nai could not consider Yi’s feelings because of her father’s death, she
always thought about what she wanted for Yi but did not know what Yi needed for herself. And
also, the part that Yi and Jin didn’t end up as a couple by the end of the movie. They really look
good together and it must’ve been better if they really ended up as a couple.
Abominable is filled with good life lessons, we learned that nothing is impossible when
you put your mind and heart into it. As long as you believe in yourself you can accomplish any
burden that comes along your way. We also learned that we also have a family that will always
be there when we need them. And like Mr. Burnish we should not always judge a book by its
cover because when we judge too much, we might hurt others’ feelings.
We will recommend this to others because this movie has a lot of lessons where
everybody should learn. It is a movie that will give you all the feels, and we think that families
with younger children will really benefit from watching it and it will also be another way for
families to spend time together even in just a short brief of time.
