Module Objective/s The following are the module objectives:


 appreciation of the greater role of statistics in our everyday life
 understanding of the fundamental concepts related to statistics;
and
 mastery of the fundamental concepts of statistics that will be
used in collecting, classifying, organizing, describing and
interpreting data.
Learning Outcome/s  Define and familiarize basic terms in statistics.
 Discuss the nature and uses of statistics in psychology.
 Appreciate the role of statistics in research.
 Classify variables according to its functional relationship, scale of
measurement and continuity of values. 
Structure This module focuses on the basic concepts, ideas, definition and
meanings of terms related to statistics. It is divided into topics and
categories as follows
1. The Nature of Statistics and Types of Statistics
2. Population and Sample, Variables
3. Quantitative and Qualitative Data
4. Uses of Statistics

Exercises/Activities Exercise/Worksheets (Individual answer) embedded in the whole
