COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Learning Objectives
1. Define and explain the importance of research.
2. Differentiate the goals and purposes of research.
3. Classify research according to design and methodology.
4. Identify the types and importance of research.
5. Explain the researcher’s ethical responsibility when doing research and
demonstrate full understanding of ethical norms and guidelines through
correct application of concepts in given exercises.

Learning Objectives
1. Conceptualize a research study by writing a research title.
2. Write a research title that describes what the study is all about.
3. Write a statement of the problem.
4. Write an appropriate background of the study.
5. Identify the independent and dependent variables and formulate a
hypothesis.
6. Identify sources for research, identify researchable areas and organize the
review of related literature.
7. Demonstrate skill in acknowledging sources of documentation or citation of
references.
8. Construct a conceptual framework model and analyze a given theoretical
framework.
9. Demonstrate thorough understanding of the concepts of research method,
approach and design.
10. Conceptualize the appropriate research design for their chosen research
problem.
11. Explain the concept and importance of sampling in research.
12. Discuss the different tools and techniques used in data-gathering.
13. Write samples of questionnaire items for his/her research.
14. Discuss the value of knowing how to analyze both quantitative and
qualitative data.
15. State and realize the importance of coming up with well-formulated
conclusions and recommendations.
