    Simple Ecosystem Definition

    The simplest definition of an ecosystem is that it is a community or group of living organisms


    that live in and interact with each other in a specific environment.

    Definition. The biotic factor or biotic component is the living organism that shapes an
    ecosystem. Abiotic factors or abiotic components of an ecosystem are the non-living physical
    and chemical composition of nature.

     Abiotic factors are the non-living parts of an environment. These include


    things such as sunlight, temperature, wind, water, soil and naturally
    occurring events such as storms, fires and volcanic eruptions. Biotic
    factors are the living parts of an environment, such as plants, animals and
    micro-organisms. Together, they are the biological factors that determine
    a species' success. Each of these factors impacts others, and a mix of
    both is necessary for an ecosystem to survive.
    Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to exploreenvironmental issues,
    engage in problem solving, and take action to improve theenvironment. As a result, individuals
    develop a deeper understanding ofenvironmental issues and have the skills to make informed
    and responsible decisions

    and conservation today, it does not necessarily follow; an ecology can also be human gut
    flora, how the elements of an urban environment function and the ecology of soil nutrient
    cycles. The word “ecology” comes from the Greek and means “house study” or “living
    relations study”. That essentially defines what it is - the study of relationships between
    those who occupy a home.
