Born on September 6, 1962 in Paterson, New Jersey, Elizabeth Anne Vargas was the
daughter of Rafael Vargas, a U.S. Army colonel of Puerto Rican descent, and Anne Vargas of
Irish- American descent in 1962. She is an American broadcast journalist. Beginning in 1996,
she worked for ABC Network on a variety of news shows, including Good Morning America,
20/20, World News Tonight and also served as a host for ABC News specials. In September
2016, Vargas publicly discussed her longtime battle with alcohol and anxiety during a 20/20
segment and subsequently released a book, Between Breaths: A Memoir of Panic and
Addiction. In December 2017 Vargas announced she would be leaving ABC to pursue other
projects, which included a production deal with A+E Networks’ nonfiction series A&E
Investigates, slated for 2018.

Ellias Daniel Mogot

Ellias Daniel Mogot, familiar with Daan Mogot, is an Indonesian national hero. Born in Manado,
North Sulawesi, on 28 th December 1928 to Nicolas Mogot and Emelia Inkiriwang, Daan Mogot was the
fifth child of seven siblings. In 1939, his family moved to batavia. His fatheer became a member of
VOLKSRAAD and was later appointed the chief of Cipinang prison.
This handsome hero had showed patriotism since he was young. At fourteen years old, he became
a member of PETA. According to the rules, members of PETA should be 18 years old or above, but he
was accepted. He was very enthusiastic, showed great achievement and was appointed the instructor of
Peta In Bali. There, he met Zulkifli Lubis and Kemal Idris and they had a close relationship.
At his young age, Daan Mogot had a bright career in the military. In 1945, he became a major and
one of BKR and TKR leaders, a very rare achievement for a boy of his age. In the same year, he was
selected director of military academy in Tangerang, his previous ideal.
On 24th january 1946, Major Daan Jahja, the regiment head, recieved the information that Dutch
attacked Japan and intended to seize the Japanese army’s weapons in their camps. Major Daan Jahja
thought that the weapons shouldn’t be posssessed by the dutch army. That’s why, he asked Major Daan
Mogot to lead his troop to the Japanese army’s camp to demand their weapons.
On 25 th January 1946,Daan Mogot and his troop arrived at the japenese army’s camp in
Lengkong. A peacefu; negotition failed and there was a fierce war between the two troops. Major Daan
Mogot was shot at and passed away in the incident.

Picasso was one of the most outstanding and important artists of the 1900’s. He is best known for his
paintings. Almost every style in modern art is represented in Picasso’s works.
Picasso was born in 1881 in Malaga, Spain as the son of an art teacher. He studied painting from his
father and his college level course of study at the academy of arts in Madrid.
From about 1895 to 1901, he painted realistic works in a traditional stylE. He, then, entered what was
called the Blue PerioD. During this time, he only used shades of blue in his paintings to show the poverty
he saw in Barcelona.
After 1908, he entered into the style of cubism. Among his well-known cubist paintings are “Three
Musicians” and “Man with a Guitar”.
Picasso died in Moughins, France in 1973. He was really great artist.
