The mobile apps Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Twitter are mobile apps
that many people around the world use to keep in touch. These apps are famous because of its
beautiful socialization, great information and characteristics that these can also be access easily.
The study entitled “Factors Influencing the Growth in the usage of Social Media
among Senior High Schools of Divine Word College of Laoag” will benefit the following:
Students. The result of this study will provide the students more knowledge about the
effects of mobile apps into their socialization towards their parents and school. It will give the
students a realization of that overtime usage of mobile apps has a big impact into their
socialization skills.

School. This research will provide the school a study about the effects of mobile apps
Teachers. This study can be used by the teachers as their guide to their students and use
this as their reference for them to integrate in their study. The result of this study may serve as an
eye opener to create and motivates instructional materials, and to use varied and appropriate
teaching.
Future Researchers. The findings of this study can serve as their basis or vital reference
material.
School Administrators. The result of this study will serve as a baseline data to improve
The study was focused on the effects of mobile apps in the individual socialization
amongst SHS Students of DWCL. The participants of this research were only allotted to 50 SHS
Students studying in DWCL. The data gathering will be held on March 5, 2020. The participants
of this research were both males and females who were both using mobile apps.
Definition of Terms
Facebook. A social media website first developed by Mark Zuckerberg while he was a
student at Harvard in 2004. Since its creation it has become one of the most popular social media
sites attracting people of all ages from all over the world. To use the site you must create a
personal profile where you provide information about yourself that can either be made public or

message to the other person, it is also version of Facebook to make it easy to talk to each other,
the message is also automatically appear in the phone In order to make it easy for users to read it,
they have also put up Information signs, similar to Facebook's natural, Facebook Messenger was
Twitter. is a 'microblogging' system that allows you to send and receive short posts
called tweets. Tweets can be up to 140 characters long and can include links to relevant websites
and resources. Twitter users follow other users. If you follow someone you can see their tweets
in your twitter 'timeline'. You can choose to follow people and organizations with similar
academic and personal interests to you. You can create your own tweets or you can retweet
information that has been tweeted by others. Retweeting means that information can be shared
Instagram. an online photo-sharing application and social network platform that was
acquired by Facebook in 2012. Instagram allows users to edit and upload photos and short videos
through a mobile app. Users can add a caption to each of their posts and use hashtags and
location-based geotags to index these posts and make them searchable by other users within the
app. Each post by a user appears on their followers' Instagram feeds and can also be viewed by
the public when tagged using hashtags or geotags. Users also have the option of making their
profile private so that only their followers can view their posts.
