The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organization established by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education. It conducts research and innovation in school education, develops curriculum frameworks and textbooks, organizes pre-service and in-service teacher training programmes, and develops evaluation schemes and educational technology. The NCERT also monitors innovations and progress in school education and disseminates information on educational policies, programmes, innovations and researches at the national and international levels.
