ANALYSIS
1. What are the common constraints/problems encountered by the students/teachers in
implementing 21st century skills?
We all know that 21st century students are very different today, because they are
more in technology. The common problems that the teachers encountered in
implementing 21st century skills is that how teachers will teach the right use of
technology to his/her students, the shifting of classroom management to the computer
management, how teachers will handle his/her diverse students, what strategy he/she will
use to cater the different needs of each learners, and management of student behavior in
the classroom.
And the problems that the students may encountered, is that we all know that rural
area are far from urban, how about those students who live in the rural are, if the 21 st
century is for technological, how about them, that there are not enough devices, such
computers, they are not well-literate to use a computer.

2. What kind(s) of constraints tend to bring out the best about 21st century skills?
Teachers need to acquire strong skills in technology and the use of technology as
an effective teaching tool, to both optimize the use of digital resources in their teaching
and use information-management systems to track student learning. And teachers need to
be well-versed in the subjects they teach in order to be adept at using different methods
and, if necessary, changing their approaches to optimize learning. This includes content-
specific strategies and methods to teach specific content. Make learning central,
encourage engagement, and be the place where students come to understand themselves
as learners; And also teachers need to have a deep understanding of how learning
happens, in general, and of individual students’ motivations, emotions and lives outside
the classroom, Last but not least, teachers need to reflect on their practices in order to
learn from their experience.

3. What other factors(s) are necessary to be considered to avoid possible constraints in using
21st century skills?
The other factors that are necessary to be considered to avoid possible constraints
in using 21st century skills is Teachers need to be agents of innovation not least because
innovation is critically important for generating new sources of growth through
improved efficiency and productivity, and they need to be able to work in highly
collaborative ways, working with their students and use strategies that are well suited to
needs of the students.

ABSTRACTION

The goal and objectives of 21st Century Learning Skills can be broken down into four (4)
categories of skills/literacies. This is a list of competencies that future teacher need to be
proficient in, in order to a responsible citizen of the 21 st century and compete in the
workforce. These skills/literacies are what students should be learning in school.

-social and cross-cultural skills
-productivity and accountability
-Leadership and responsibility

LEARNING AND INNOVATION -creativity and innovation

Cluster 1

FS6

Teacher must possess the life and career skills; flexibility and adaptability,
initiative and self-direction, social and cross-cultural skills, productivity and
accountability and Leadership and responsibility. Because teacher teaching life of a
skills involves not only classroom teaching, but working with students in the real world.
Teacher must have this skills for him/her able to respond to the student’s problems. Having this
skills is important to be an effective teacher and helps students to be more equipped.

Cluster 2

Teacher must possess learning and innovation skills because a teacher needs to be
more creative in things, like he/she have to be more innovative in teaching his/her lesson to the
class to have a better teaching-learning process, that there are engagements between teachers
and students, that students might find interesting their class discussion. There are things that
may unexpectedly to happen inside the classroom, so the teacher must have critical thinking
and problem solving skills, that he/she can easily solve the problems or have an alternative, just
like plan A to Z. Also being a teacher he/she must have a communication to his/her students,
that he/she open-mindedly address the problems and needs of the students, and have a
collaboratively environment, where students and teachers are work together.

Cluster 3

The teacher must possess the Information, Media and Technology skills, 21 st century
is more on technology empowerment, so the teacher must be knowledgeable on these skills,
because it is a really as big help to achieve the goals. The teacher must have this skills, for
easily transferring or imparting knowledge to the students. And the teacher must use this skills
in a right way, to have a better teaching-learning process.

Cluster 4
Teacher must possess this skills, because it is an ability to understand, respect and
work well with people from diverse cultures is increasingly important for social and academic
success in an interconnected world. The idea behind global awareness is to create global citizens
who are open to those raised in different countries, cultures and religious settings. As a teacher
we have a power to influence and change our student’s life, so we must use our power to
influence in a good way that will improve our students.

Good work! You already have completed activity 1 of lesson 3. You already learned
about the 21st century skills in the teaching and learning process. Always remember that students
are more engaged in authentic assessment because they are usually tied to real-world challenges
and situations, students are better prepared for such thinking and performance once out of
school. Students value the task more because they view it as rich rather than superficial,
engaging rather than uninteresting, and active rather than passive. If you are ready, you may
now move to the next Lesson
