Site analysis: is a preliminary phase of architectural and urban design
processes dedicated to the study of the climatic, geographical,
historical, legal, and infrastructural context of a specific site.
Site location

West of Duhok – Near Avro city complex


Site area

Area: 48415 sqm

Site noise

• Red symbols which shows the more noise sides


because it connects main streets to the Avro city
complex.
• But green symbols shows that these two sides
have less noise.
Environment:

• Main entrance must be located at right side because the


front of it will be an opened area.
• The street is big enough at that side.
• Car traffic will be less than other side which ( avro city
and tower) are located.
Soil capacity

• The soil in this area is strong, cohesive, and not fragile to


absorb rainwater. For this reason, we do not need a lot of
stress in digging to reach the strong soil suitable for
construction. The biggest evidence of this is the presence
of a large residential complex next to it in addition to
building a high tower in the future at the right.

Site advantages:
• Four sides of the site are streets which make it easier to access.
• Has a good view.
• No buildings to disturb the site.
• The location is suitable for construction.
• The area is big enough.
• The location is close to residential apartments and residential building.
• No electrical and sewers lines on site.
• The left side which will be a tower can help it for bringing more
visitors and also make a land mark in the city.
Site disadvantages:
• The site is near from the another commercial center (Family mall).

• The site surrounds has difficult activities so this is bad point because
sometimes will make a noise.
Conclusion

At the end of analyzing our site we can understand the site, and see
how site analysis works. Also now we can make a project out of the
side because we had every information that can help us to create
function, spaces and design. As in our site which has many positive
points that we can build a shopping mall. Like its open from all sides
and has commercial, educational and residential areas all around it and
also a good geographical place.
