Go The Distance
Go The Distance
Go The Distance
Good day everyone, I’m Rica, and here’s my reflection on the song “Go the Distance” performed
by the General Education Department Faculty and Staff. (Pause and Smile). Here’s the gist and
my reflection on this song.
Indulge me. I really got goosebumps when I heard this song sung by our professors. I’ve
listened to this song before, but this cover or performance makes it different. Maybe because of
the pandemic that we are facing right now, we are quite emotional due to the rapid spread of
coronavirus. I really love the cover. I can say that the song wants us to understand that all of us
have a great perspective of what lies behind our future. We all strive for our wildest, greatest,
fondest, ultimate dream. I, as a teenager, pursued this course because of the goal that I have. And
I’m holding on to this dream because I have this burning passion for serving my hometown. And
I know that achieving my vision will make my family and my hometown proud.
The song reminds us also to be courageous and brave in facing all the struggles that we
may encounter along our journey. Our strength and will to carry on and move on will lead us to
where we should belong. Indeed, keeping the faith, the road towards my dream may be
unknown, and maybe at some point, I might also doubt the path. I know that I can reach my goal
someday with my strong perseverance and great hope.
It also prompts us the right attitude of not giving up and never losing hope. The journey
towards reaching my dream can be compared to climbing an uphill slope. It will never be easy
because I need to stay focused, and I should not look back. Instead, I should keep my eye on the
ultimate goal, which is to reach the pedestal. I have always believed that only those with brave
hearts will finish the journey.
‘Till I find my hero’s welcome waiting in your arms”. For me, this is very touching. It tells us to
maintain our strong desire to achieve whatever dream we are dreaming no matter what happens.
That whatever trials we may face, even if we fall many times, we must always stand up and
continue our journey. Never say “I quit,” never say “I can’t,” no “Buts and ifs,” just keep holding
on to the Lord’s promise that He will never leave us, and everything will be fine. And we can
reach our final destination. At that moment, I can say that fulfillment is ours, and we are
genuinely SUCCESSFUL.
