COURSE TITLE: Calculus II (0203102). OFFERED SEMESTER: First 2020/2021.

CREDIT HOURS: 3. PREREQUISITE: Calculus I (0203101).
CLASS MEETINGS: Sun-Tue-Thu 04:00 - 05:00 PM CLASSROOM: Online
TEXTBOOK: Anton, Howard, Irl C. Bivens and Stephen Davis. Calculus, John Wiley & sons, 2012
OTHER REFERENCE:
Stewart, James. Calculus, free edition, 2015.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides a thorough introduction to integral calculus as well as differentiation and integration
of exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. We will be continuing where you left off in 1st-
semester Calculus. We will expand the class of functions with which you can use derivatives and integrals,
expand your repertoire of integration techniques, learn how to handle indeterminate forms when calculating
limits and improper forms when evaluating integrals, learn how to analyze and evaluate infinite series. In the
end you should have a full understanding of the basic concepts and techniques of single-variable calculus.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The student should emerge from this class with:
The student will demonstrate an understanding of the calculus of exponential, logarithmic, and inverse
trigonometric functions. The student will also develop a basic understanding of advanced integration
techniques, infinite sequences and series. The students will improve their ability to think critically, to
analyze a problem and solve it using a wide array of tools. These skills will be invaluable to them in
whatever path they choose to follow, be it as a mathematics major or in pursuit of a career in one of the
other sciences.
