3. Hazards Identified:
Nil – Material does develop any hazardous symptom. However, Guar Meal should not be
left open to atmosphere for long since material is susceptible to moisture. Material is to be stored in
closed room and dry condition with normal ventilation.
4. First Aid Measures
Inhalation : Clean the nose with clean water and breathe-in and breathe-out deep 10-15 times.
Skin Contact : Clean with water and dry it by normal towel.
Eye Contact : Clean with fresh water few times. (Blink in hand-full of waters several times to
clean the eyes thoroughly.)

5. Fire Fighting Measures:
Fire extinguishing agents recommended: CO2 Extinguisher; Dry Powder Extinguisher
Fire extinguishing agents to avoid : Water – since the paste forms a very slippery substance with
water may causing accidents.
6. Accidental Release Measure:
The material is not prone to any accident, i.e., it is not explosive, nor it releases any obnoxious gases
etc. - Hence no Accidental release measures are recommended. But if water-mix powder is spilled, it
should be thoroughly wiped out and cleaned with water to remove the slippery effect of floor ares.
7. Handling and Storage:
The material is packed in multi-layer or HDPE Laminated paper bags with polyethene liner inside –
25 kg Net. Hook should not be used for handling bags and not thrown while shifting. Material is to be
stored in dry place under atmospheric temperature under closed warehouse with normal ventilation.
The powder should not be kept open since it is susceptible to moisture.
8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
Ventilation : If powder is ventilated, it will deposit on surface of human bodies it should be avoided.
Respiratory Protection: Cleaning of nose and deep breathing and drinking water liberally will help.
Eyes and Face : Clean Eyes and Face with fresh water quickly and dry with towel.
Hands, Arms & Body : No harmful effects, but to be cleaned with water.
Other clothing equipment: No harmful effect; Dust it out dry. Routine washing/cleaning can be done.

10. Stability and Reactivity:
Dangerous reaction with : No dangerous reaction with any material.
Decomposition Products : The product on its own does not decompose.
11. Toxicology Information :
Acute Toxicology : Guar Gum Powder is not toxic at all
Oral LD50 (rat) : 6770mg/ Kg. Dermal
Inhalation Testing : Most of the points already answered in above points in one way or the other.
Dermal Irritation : some form or other in earlier columns
Eyes Irritation : Hence these are not applicable.
12. Ecological Information:
Aquatic Toxicity : Non- Toxic – Nil
Algae : Nil – The material when mixed with water will form paste and remain for 24
hours. By which time the paste is to be used.
Bio-degradation : The material is subjected to bio-degradation when water is mixed or moisture is
absorbed.
13. Disposal Considerations:
The material is an agricultural product and subjected to nature's re-cycling effect without causing any
harm. As such the material if needed to be disposed, it can be buried deep in soil or dissolved in sea
where fish and other living organisms will consume the product with no danger to them.
14. Transport Information
The material is fit to be carried by road, through vehicles (like truck, cart etc.) It can be taken by
Railway-wagons.
It is sent by sea in stuffed ordinary containers. It may also be taken by Air or by Cargo Planes.
15. Regulatory Information:
This item is not banned for entry into any country, as it is not dangerous drug or restricted item
anyway.
It is being widely exported to all European countries, US and Canada and other countries around the
globe for variety of uses.
