Introduction
Simulators
Simulation History
ECLIPSE 100 - Black oil Model
Eclipse 100: is support 3D phase black oil model with a large huge rane of capapilites such as
extensive well controls, filed well operation planning, fault end fracture network …..etc.
This model assume that the hydrocarbons may be described as two components, oil and gas,
and that hydrocarbon fluid composition remain constant during the simulation. All fluid
properties are assumed to be determined by oil pressure and bubble point pressure only. All
mass transfer between the two components is normally described by the solution gas-oil ratio
term, Rso (although an oil-in gas term to handle condensate may easily be included in the
Black Oil formulation)
ECLIPSE 300 - Compositional Model
Eclipse 300: is a compositional simulators that provides a full equation of state modeling for
multicomponent hydrocarbon flow in reservoirs, in which there are a compositional change
with depth, condensate or volatile crude oil and gas injection program.
In reservoirs containing light oil, the hydrocarbon composition as well as pressures affect fluid
properties. Equilibrium flash calculations using equation of state (EOS) must be used to
determine hydrocarbon phase compositions
FRONTSIM- Streamline simulation
FloGrid is an interactive application designed to build high quality reservoir models from
interpreted geological and geophysical data for reserves estimation, fluid flow simulation using
ECLIPSE, and reservoir development planning.
FloViz is an interactive 3D visualization system which you can use to display reservoir
simulation model data. It has been designed to interface efficiently with the ECLIPSE
reservoir simulators. The system can accommodate both block center and corner-point
geometries as well as Cartesian and radial local grid refinement and coarsening.
Eclipse Pre/post
GRAF is a general post-processing package for the ECLIPSE simulator. It provides facilities
for displaying simulation results and user data in graphical form. Various types of plots are
available, including line graphs, colour-filled grid solution displays, contour displays, arrow
diagrams, transmissibility displays and vertical equilibrium displays. GRAF may be used
interactively, via menus, or driven by high level commands in a graphics run file. High quality
graphics for reports can be produced on a wide range of plotters.
Eclipse Pre/post
ECLIPSE Office is a tool to help manage reservoir simulations. It provides a convenient user
interface for:
• launching and managing any of the ECLIPSE applications
• running a rapid quick-look simulation from start to finish
• allowing you check your results during simulation runs
• editing and reviewing simulation results and generates reports.
Eclipse Pre/post
The PVTi program is an Equation of State based package for generating PVT data from the
laboratory analysis of oil and gas samples. The program may be used through an interactive
menu system or run in a batch mode. An interactive session can be saved as a batch input file,
which contains commands to reproduce the interactive operations. Alternatively, a batch input
file can be run from an interactive session.
Eclipse Pre/post
SCAL is a tool to help engineers effectively use laboratory-derived relative permeability and
capillary pressure measurements in reservoir simulation. The program has facilities to:
• import laboratory data,
• perform quality control (such as curve smoothing),
• group data according to lithological parameters and end-point values,
• transform the laboratory data into rock curves suitable for input to simulators such as ECLIPSE
and automatically assign these curves to grid cells (according to a set of user defined rules, for
example as a function of porosity, permeability or lithological parameters).
Eclipse Pre/post
Schedule is an interactive program for preparing, validating and integrating production and
completion data for use in a reservoir simulator. Schedule imports production data from ASCII
files (including Production Analyst and Oil Field Manager format, and the Finder Schedule-
Loader files). You can, also, easily create this format from any database or spreadsheet. Schedule
uses this data to generate production control keywords for the simulator.
Eclipse Pre/post
SimOpt is an interactive computer program that assists in the steps traditionally taken when
trying to achieve a history match between an ECLIPSE 100/300 simulation model and the
corresponding observed reservoir data. By applying mathematical techniques, it provides
additional information on which the reservoir engineer can exercise judgement to improve the
history match.
Eclipse Pre/post
VFPi is the graphical, interactive successor to the Vertical Flow Performance program, VFP.
Through a series of graphical modules, control and data panels, it allows you to study all aspects
of pressure traverse calculations along wells and pipelines for black oil and compositional fluids.
You can also generate and examine production and injection vertical flow performance tables for
input into the ECLIPSE and VIP simulators.
