Q2) The process of depositing a layer of any desired metal on another material by means
of electricity is called electroplating. It is one of the most common applications of
chemical effects of electric current and is widely used in industry for coating metal
with a thin layer of a different metal. It is also used to purify metals. Write the
activity to purify impure copper metal. The circuit diagram to purify copper metal is
given below.
Or
The materials which allow electric current to pass through them are called good
conductors of electricity and the materials which do not allow electric current to pass
through them are called poor conductors of electricity. Electric current can also pass
through liquids and to test whether a liquid allows electric current to pass through it
or not, we pass electric current through the liquid to complete an electric circuit. To
check the conductivity of the liquid a bulb or an LED or Compass in the circuit is
used.
Why some liquids can be tested for conductivity by LED and not by bulb?
