ARTICULATION MUSCLES’ EXERCISES

JAW

2a – Add sound

SOFT PALATE

1 – Yawn

1a – Yawn adding sound

2 – Put your finger on your tongue to guarantee it doesn’t move. Add sound as you move your jaw up
and down. You sound like a baby.

BACK OF THE TONGUE

1 – Put the tip of your tongue behind your lower teeth and push the back of the tongue out of your
mouth. Repeat for 60 seconds.

TIP OF THE TONGUE

1 – Hold your finger in front of your mouth and push the tongue forward

2 – Put your finger under the lower lip and the tongue right above it. Pull the finger upwards while
holding the tip of the tongue down.

3 – Snap the tip of your tongue behind the upper teeth – you can use a toothpick for this one.

LIPS

1 – Bring both lips into your mouth and extend them trying to bring the area behind the lips together.
Sound may happen but should not be forced.

2 – Put your hand in front of your mouth, pout the lips forward, relax and blow air into the middle of
your hand

2a – Do the same breathing exercise but add sound

3 – Do the same exercise adding the “dart” sound – going from low to high pitch
