I. Preliminary Daily Routine
 Prayer, greetings, checking of
attendance, cleanliness, uniform &
arrangement of the line

“Class let us all stand and put ourselves in the (Students will stay in their places and pray)

some questions.
1. Define Badminton
“Badminton is an indoor/outdoor game

“Now before we discuss our topic for today, we
will have some short motivation. I want you to (after pairing and making a line)
pair yourselves into two and make 4 lines.”

“I’ll give you this scarf and listen to my


instruction.” (after giving them the scarf)

“This game is called SCARF TOSS Challenge.


You work with a partner then challenge each
other to catch juggling scarves. You will start at
the center line (one arms apart), the idea of the
activity is to move further back throwing (one
step back at a time) the scarf up in the air and
attempting to catch your partner’s scarf. “

“Do you understand the instructions? The last


partners standing, you will have a reward.” “Yes, Ma’am”

“Will give 15 mins to play the activity.”

(After 15 mins)

“Do you enjoy the activity?”


“Yes, Ma’am”
“Do you think that it’s related to our topic for
today?”

(After a short introduction, the teacher unlocks


the lesson proper)

II. Lesson Proper


“Our next topic will be Basic Footwork in
Badminton.”

(The will show an illustration of a badminton


court)
“Doing an effective and organized footwork
provides superb speed and agility which enables
the player to move around the badminton court
swiftly and return every shuttlecock.”

“Almanza can you point out the base or center


line in the illustration?”
(Student point out the center line of the
“Very good!” court)

“Prado can you point out the possible


movements around the court from the center
line?”
(Students point out the possible movements
“Very good!” with an arrow)

“Why is it important that going back to the base


or center line after you hit the bird?”

“Right, cause every time you move away from (Students will answer based on their
the center line to hit the shuttle, you must opinion)

“What is the help of doing footwork properly?”

“Very Good!”

“Playing badminton is a sport that requires (Students answer based on their opinion)

footwork to help prevent injury while playing a
match”.

 Analysis

“So, The Basic Footwork are:


1. Forward Forehand
2. Forward Backhand
3. Forehand Side
4. Backhand Side
5. Forehand Backcourt
6. Backhand Backcourt

“Okay, so I want you to stand up and make 4


lines. I will teach you the basic footstep/work to
hit the bird from those position of the court.
After that you will be grouped into two and
demonstrate it” (Students ready themselves into Athletic
Stance)
“Let’s start to the forward footwork. First, the
Front Forehand shot if your right – handed start
with your dominant leg going forward using
change step (2 – 3 steps) and then ending with
your right leg slightly at lunging movement. (Students demonstrate the Forward

“Number 3 The Forehand Side. If your right-


handed start with your left leg, then change
steps (2 – 3 steps) and lunge with your right
foot. The foot is pointing to the proper

center you shuffle or skip first.”

“Number 4 The Backhand Side. First step with


your left leg, end with your right leg and
balance in a lunging motion. Make sure that the
foot is pointing towards the direction you are
going to and shuffle back to the center.” (Students demonstrate the Backhand Side)

“Number 5 The Forehand Backcourt. Start off


with your right leg going to the back and make
shuffle movements until you get to the back,
ending with your right leg having the weight of
your body and run back to the center.” (Students demonstrate the Forehand
Backcourt)
“Number 6 The Backhand Backcourt. Start with
your left leg backward and step your right leg if
the bird is still far from you use shuffle.”

III. Generalization (Students demonstrate the Backhand


“Now class let us remember the effective and Backcourt)

IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Write T if the statement is true and (Students will raise their hand and state
