    Oscar Ramos, a Filipino Impressionist, focused on the subjects of the paintings

    of Juan Luna, Carlos “Botong” Francisco, and Fernando Amorsolo. The style and
    the colors of Amorsolo are still reflected in his works.

    Carlos (Botong) Francisco refined his own style which is a personal


    version of Post-Impressionism onto the Philippine context. His style
    is a successful blending of formal elements in folk art with those of
    Spanish baroque and Muslim Malayan.

    Loy Laurente Laurente is a well-known Filipino Pointillist Painter.


    His style is unmistakably Seurat. Using the same technique as the
    French Neo-Impressionist, Luarente created depth, light, shadow,
    texture and other elements using tiny dots.

    paintings. Following in Modernist traditions, Ocampo’s used bold color
