INSTRUCTION: Read the questions carefully, Answer the following questions and present your
neat and valid solutions. Wrong units will not validate your answers.
SITUATION 1 (EASY)
The Diagram shows the Shear and Moment Diagram of a beam. At a certain instance the Loading
is missing too.
Req: Draw the beam Loadings that satisfy the Diagram below ( 5 points)
SITUATION 2 (MODERATE)
2. Draw the pattern loading as described in the following situations
a. Engr Conde draws a beam with dimension of 480mmx 680mm, the beam is to be loaded at
8.9m span
b. At left end, the load starts from 3kn/m varying to 6Kn/m until it reaches 4.8m, from
6Kn/m it decreases down to 2.5Kn/m and the length is equal to the 0.4 of the length of
the first varying load
c. First support is located at the end of the last varying load
d. Another point load of 2kg is subjected at a distance of 2.9m from the support, and the
last support is located from the right end of the beam
REQ. What is the reaction of the last support in Kn? also compute the inertia of the beam
SITUATION 3
The Beam is Loaded as shown
REQ:
P=5Kn, W=18Kn E=0.2Kn/mm2
Locate the maximum deflection of the beam
Moment Equation,
Slope at 2.78m P
W 1 m
5m
SITUATION 4
10 points
4. The Beam is Loaded as shown
REQ:
Moment Equation,
Slope at 1.09m
moment( max positive)
W=2Kn/m
5m
SITUATION 5 ( HARD)
2.5m 2.5 m
5m
