1.1 INTRODUCTION

JDAS is a data acquisition system developed on basis of Windows and it is used for

monitoring the operation data. This system can collect, monitor and record operation

data in real-time and it can also process related operation data, which helps field

technical personnel to accurately master job data, analyze job condition, direct field

job and guarantee job quality. This system also helps to find and analyze causes of

problems during job process.

JDAS supports:

a) Collect and record data in real time

b) The signals can be configurated freely and can be calculated in calculation

formula.

c) The curves and data can be displayed in split screen.

d) Edit and modify curve in real time

e) Compatible with third party analysis software such as FracproPT

1.2 FEATURES

The JDAS software features:

a) Basic Functions:

 Convenient installation and operation

 Applicable Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and

Windows 7

 Collect signals of several channels through the data acquisition unit and the

contacts of the Ethernet

2.1 OPERATING ENVIRONMENT

a) Hardware

In order to ensure stable system operations and accurate data record, it is

recommended to use PC with configurations no lower than:

 P IV 2.0 CPU;

 1G memory;

 60G hard disk space;

 Monitor with resolution of 1024×768

b) Operation System Requirements:

 Windows XP、Windows Server 2003、Windows 7

2.2 INSTALL AND UNINSTALL

a) Run JDAS-Setup.exe, and install this software according to the tips.

b) A desktop shortcut will be created automatically for convenient operation after

installation.

c) Run unins000.exe under the installation directory (default: C: \JDAS\) to un-install

the software.

3 ACQUISITION RECORD

This section will introduce the start, data acquisition and recording of JDAS. User can

adjust the data (chart editing, data fine adjustment) according to actual working

conditions and set chart display parameters.

3.1 START THE JDAS

Double click the desktop shortcut of JDAS to enter the software main interface as

shown in Fig. 3-1.

3.2 CREATE A NEW JOB

Click in the tool bar, and a New Job interface shown as Fig. 3-2 will pop up.

a) Input the name of the operation file.

b) Click to select the template (the template is under Template folder) to get the

configuration.

c) Click “OK” to finish creating a new job.

3.3 USER SETUP

Click on the tool bar, and select “User Setup” in the drop-down list. A user

setup window shown as Fig. 3-3 will pop up.

3.4 CHANNEL SETTING

Click on the tool bar, select “Channel” in the drop-down list. A channel setting

window as shown in Fig. 3-4 will pop up.

a) Left click on the tool bar and the data source setting window as shown in Fig.

3-5 will pop up;

b) Choose the data source needs to be added, left click on the tool bar to add

channel and input related parameters;

c) Left click on the toolbar to save the channel;

d) Choose channel from the vertical list on the left and click on the toolbar to

delete it;

e) Left click on the toolbar to clear the items in all controls except those under

the vertical list;

f) Left click on the toolbar to close the window.

NOTE

The metric slope, metric offset, imperial slop and imperial offset shall be corresponding

to the related conversion factors.

3.5 ACQUISITION RECORD

a) Click in the tool bar, the system will start to collecting signals and record

data;

b) If the signals and data need to be transferred to the third party analysis software

(such as FracproPT) through RS232, click on the tool bar, and select the

“COMM” in the drop-down list. A “Comm Setting” window as shown in Fig.

3-6 will pop up.

c) If the data needs to be transferred to the handheld terminal through the network,

please click on the tool bar and select “MOBILE”, then a “Send Channel

Setting” as shown in Fig. 3-8 will pop up.

d) If the data needs to be transmitted to the remote server through the network, left

click on the toolbar and choose “Remote Data” in the drop-down list and

a remote send data window as shown in Fig. 3-10 will pop up;

e) Click on the tool bar to pause the data collecting and recording. Click

to continue the data collecting and recording.

f) Click on the tool bar to stop the data collecting and recording to finish the

operation.

3.6 QUICK ADJUST

a) Left click on the toolbar and choose “Quick Adjust” in the drop-down list

and the quick adjust window as shown in Fig. 3-8 will pop up;

b) The data can be adjusted quickly through setting the scale, factor and set value;

c) Click “OK” to save the operation.

3.7 DATA TRANSMISSION

3.7.1 COMMUNICATION DATA

During data acquisition, if the data needs to be transferred to the third party analysis

software (FracproPT) through RS232, click on the tool bar to select “COMM”

in the drop-down list and then a setting window as shown in Fig. 3-9 will pop up.

a) Choose the data that needs to be sent in the data list and set their sending

sequence through and on the left of the window;

b) Choose proper communication port, data type (metric or APIEN), send interval

and protocol;

c) Click “Send” to save the setting and send the data;

d) Click “Save” to save the setting, but the data will not be sent.

3.7.2 HANDLED TERMINAL

If the data needs to be transferred to the handheld terminal through the network,

please click on the tool bra and select “MOBILE”, then a “Send Channel

Setting” window as shown in Fig. 3-8 will pop up.

a) Choose the channel to be sent and set the sending sequence;

b) Choose the send interval, protocol and data type (metric or APIEN);

c) Click “Send” to send the data and save the setting.

3.7.3 REMOTE SEND DATA

During data acquisition, if the data needs to be transmitted to the remote server

through the network, left click on the toolbar and choose “Remote Data” in

the drop-down list. Then a remote send data window as shown in Fig. 3-11 will pop up.

a) Choose the data need to be sent and set their sequence through or

on the left of the window;

b) Set the IP address and remote port of the remote server;

c) Choose the send interval, protocol and data type (metric or APIEN);

d) Click “Send” to save the setting and send the data.

4 DISPLAY AND PRINT

This chapter mainly introduces the display, query and printing of JDAS curves and data.

Users can choose to display (including chart page, data page and customer’s page),

query and print the data selectively according to actual working requirements.

4.1 CURVE DISPLAY

Choose “Chart Page” in the main interface or click on the tool bar, and then

choose “1# Chart” in the drop-down list to enter the curve display window.

Click on the curve tool bar or right click the chart page, and choose “Curve

Property”, then a “Curve Property” window as shown in Fig. 4-1 will pop up.

b) Show Button

If it is selected, corresponding buttons in the toolbar will be displayed.

Reset. When the ordinates change, press it to reset quickly.

Zoom out. The curves will be zoomed out.

Zoom in. The curves will be zoomed in.

Zoom. Move the mouse to achieve the operation.

Cursor. When it is selected, the value of the cursor position will be


displayed.

Edit. When it is selected, the cursor will turn to a bush, and then
the selected channel can be edited in real-time.

Property, used to set the curve display property.

Save, used to save the curve figures.

a) Start the JDAS system;

b) Collect and record data or playback the historical data;

and a window as shown in Fig. 4-21 will pop up.

d) Set the properties of the curves.

e) Drag the curve to the customer’s screen for displaying.

4.3.1 CUSTOM DESIGN

Right click the custom window and choose “Edit” in the pop-up window to enter the

custom design status as shown in Fig. 4-28. Pictures, gauge, labels and curve controls

can be added freely here and the layout can be set freely.

a) Choose the controls (label, gauge, curve and picture) that need to be added in the

left list;

b) Drag it by the cursor to the right window to proper size;

c) Set related properties of the controls.

d) Right click the window, and choose “Save” in the pop-up menu after setting.

4.4 DATA QUERY

b) Click “Query” and the results will be displayed in the list;

The name of the channels that needed to be queried can be set here.

d) Click “Export” and choose “Current Value” or “Raw Value” to export the

query results to files with format of txt, fpa, csv or xlsx.

4.5 PRINT

The JDAS supports three printing modes:

 Print All-print all curves to a single page;

 Page Print-input page numbers that needed and the curves will be displayed on

those pages;

 Part Print-print curves within a certain period.

a) Click on the curve’s toolbar, a print curve window as shown in Fig. 4-39 will

b) Choose print mode, direction and set related parameters.

c) Click “ Preview” to preview the curves need to be printed in the window.

5 DATA CALIBRATION

The JDAS system can collect data (analog quantity such as pressure and digital

quantity such as displacement) directly from the sensors, and it will calibrate the data

and save the calibrated data.

a) Start the JDAS;

b) Create job and set the channels;

c) Left click on the toolbar and the calibration window as shown in Fig. 5-1 will

pop up;

d) Choose the semaphore that need to be calibrated from the list on the left of the

window;

e) Set the offset value and do zero calibration;

f) The parameters can be added or deleted through the right click menu in the list;

g) Click “OK” to save the calibration parameters.

6 CURVE EDIT

JDAS system has function of curve editing (insert, modify and cut) and it offers two

curve editing modes (curve editing and brush modifying) to adjust the curves.

6.1 CURVE EDIT

The curve editing mode has functions of curve inserting, modifying (fixed value and

average value) and cut.

a) Start JDAS;

b) Collect and record data or playback the historical data;

c) Click on the curve toolbar, select “Curve Edit” in the dropdown list, and

then a curve edit window as shown in Fig. 6-1 will pop up.

6.1.1 CURVE MODIFY

a) Choose the channel needs to be modified;

b) Input the basic information (start and end) of the curve that needs to be modified.

c) Select start, and double click the curve start that you want to modify on the curve

window, then the software will acquire and display the starting time automatically

(the way to determine the end is same with that of determining the start).

d) Update Parameter:

 Average Value-all value in the selected section of the chosen channel will be

modified to the average value of this section;

 Fixed Value-all value in the selected section of the chosen channel will be

modified to the input value.

 Increase: All data within the selected time range will be increased by certain

input value;

 Decrease: All data within the selected time range will be decreased by certain

input value;

e) Click “OK” to finish the curve modification operation.

6.1.2 CURVE INSERT

a) Input the time point where the curve will be inserted;

Choose a proper position, and double click the curve insert point that needs to be

modified, then the software will acquire and display the insert time automatically.

b) Select data time direction:

 Before-all data time before the insert point will be led forward.

 After- all data time before the insert point will be led backward.

c) Input the time length that inserted.

d) Input the insert value (the default value is 0) and fluctuation of each channel.

e) Click “OK” to finish curve insert operation.

6.1.3 CURVE CUT

a) Input the time point that needs inserting a curve;

Choose insert position, and double click the curve insert point that needs to be

modified, then the software will acquire and display the insert time automatically.

b) Input the start and end of the curves that need to be cut;

Select start, and double click the curve start that you want to modify on the curve

window, then the software will acquire and display the starting time automatically

(the way to determine the end is same with that of determining the start).
