    VISION

    Ecopetrol aims to be the premier independent E&P company in Latin America. The major
    strategic focus of the Company is sustainable growth. The Company is able to achieve this
    growth by combining the expertise and talents of its people with a high-quality portfolio of
    assets to support further sustainable, responsible and profitable creation of value.

    MISION

    We find and convert energy sources into value for our customers and shareholders, ensuring
    the integrity of people, process safety and care for the environment, contributing to the
    welfare of the areas where we operate, with committed staff that strives for excellence, their
    overall development and building long term relationships with our stakeholders.

    HISTORY

    Ecopetrol emerged from the reversal of the Seas Award in 1951, and then became a national
    enterprise integrated until the seventies, with modest technical capacity to grow aggressively.
    Later he emphasized self-sufficiency and concentrated in the upstream, with initially positive
    results then vanished. Conversion to Ecopetrol SA in 2003, has allowed him to redesign its
    business portfolio and compete in the upstream with new contracts.

    PRODUCTS AND SERVICE

    The scientific and research activities of Ecopetrol in the ICP stimulates the constant generation
    of technology products that meet the needs of the business and are embodied in methods,
    processes, products, equipment, tools and software, among others.

    This scientific production includes technological strengths successfully applied in the operation
    of Ecopetrol, which have been installed, implemented and maintained in accordance with the
    insurance model of knowledge and processes of protection of intellectual property.

    MARKETING STRATEGIES

    The Company is in an enviable strategic position because it has the ideal combination of
    production assets and exploration areas. It is expected that the significant cash flow and
    earnings from operations for growth of production are used to support ambitious exploration
    and production company.

    The company strategy is to maintain a steady increase in its reserves and production figures
    will be achieved, through exploration and increased recovery rates to better delineates our
    resource base and ongoing use of technology appropriate. Continue to concentrate our
    exploration activities in areas where our knowledge and talents can provide a significant
    advantage.
