V. Read the text below:
Last month we had an article about teenagers and television. This month we asked some parents
what they think. Here’s what some of them told our reporter:
Dr Evans: We have two teenage boys. My husband and I allow them to watch anything they want. They
both have a television in their bedrooms – it’s easier than having them in the living room arguing about what
to watch. When I was young my parents only let me watch educational programmes, so when I left home I
wanted to watch TV all the time. I think it is much healthier if children decide what they want to watch.
Sam Wilson: We have one television in our house. It is in the sitting room so we all watch it together. At
the beginning of the week we look at the list of programmes for the week and each child is allowed to
choose two programmes for the week. They are not allowed to argue about it – we agree together and no one
is allowed to complain. We should have started this system a long time ago!
Mark the sentences TRUE, FALSE or write DK (Don’t Know) if the answer isn’t in the text.
