The Ministry of Sports Malaysia approved the opening of indoor water sports facilities for non-contact training activities, subject to compliance with guidelines. National and club athletes as well as those in learn-to-swim programs can resume swimming training in sessions limited by pool capacity. Athletes must follow 14 points of individual SOP including health screening, distancing, hygiene and limiting interaction. Pool operators must also comply with 22 points of general management SOP such as registration, distancing, cleaning and monitoring water quality. The pool reopening will be effective from June 25 to allow preparation and notification through the MITI website for monitoring.

OPENING OF WATER ACTVITIES SECTOR FOR TRAINING OBJECTIVES
TRAINING PROGRAM MUST FOLLOW GUIDELINES (SOP)
I have presented the Standard Guidelines Recommendations (SOP) for Water Sports in the Pool
at the Meeting Special Ministers on CPP Implementation yesterday, 18 June 2020 and the
Meeting has agreed to approve the opening of the indoor water sports sector for activities
training without physical contact (non-contact training).
Swimming training activities (including diving activities and diving exercises) are allowed in the
pool by session with specifications that are set and also need to limit the number of people on
one-on-one sessions based on the pool capacity for 2 categories:
The following participants / swimmers:
i) National Athletes, State and Swim Clubs or Swimming Academy in training programs
and
ii) Participants in graded training programs (such as learn to swim program).
Athletes / participants in swimming training activities must comply with 14 points in
the individual SOP as follows (as well in APPENDIX):
i)MySejahtear application registration;
ii) Training activities conducted in SOP-compliant facilities;
iii) Make sure to wear a face mask before and after the activities;
iv) Make sure the activity is done in a small area without many people;
v) Social distancing of 1 to 3 meters for static activity and 3 to 5 meters during training activities
(activities dynamic) in the pool;
vi) Ensure cleanliness measures before, during and after activities;
vii) Spitting is not allowed everywhere;
viii) Ensure shared equipment is cleaned, disinfected and kept in good condition;
ix) Leave the premises / training ground as soon as possible after training activities;
x) Don't shake / touch and reduce social interaction;
xi) No sharing of drinks, food, clothing, face towels and personal equipment;
xii) Activities involving children 12 years old and below, people with disabilities (disabled),
special needs and 60 year olds and above are not recommended;
Additional SOP for Water Sports in the Pool
xiii) Make sure that your swimming training activities are done within the standard pool for
training and competition;
xiv) Make sure users are showering first before using the pool.
Swimming Pool, Club and Swimming Pool operators are also required to adhere to 22 points
in SOP General Management as follows

(as in the APPENDIX): -

i)Make sure the QR Code ( QR Code ) is displayed for individual registration of premises;
ii) Make sure the operation of the premises is informed through the notification.miti.gov.my for
monitoring purposes of KBS;
iii) Operators / Clubs / SOP Internal Procedures which are compatible with the SOP MKN;
iv) Non-applicable individuals are NOT ALLOWED to be in the premises;
v) Make sure the body temperature check is done at all times before entering the premises;
vi) Ensure minimum number of employees and users per session according to the pool size and
area
vii) Make sure the staff wears a face mask;
viii) Ensure the operation of the premises is on schedule;
ix) Social incarceration of 1 - 2 meters while on premises;
x) Social incarceration during static activity: 1 - 3 meters, activity dynamic: 3 - 5 meters;
xi) Ensure good hygiene practices;
xii) Ensure clear marking and navigation;
xiii) Make sure the equipment used is clean and disinfected after use;
xiv) Ensure that the method of information delivery is accurate, orally without physical contact
to the user of the premises;
xv) Make sure bathroom / dressing is limiting the minimum number of users and have to be
cleaned frequently;
xvi) Additional amenities such as a sauna, Jacuzzi and others are NOT ALLOWED;
xvii) The cleaning and decontamination of premises is carried out in accordance with frequency
of use;
xviii) Ensure emergency case management procedures are provided;
Additional SOP for Water Sports in the Pool
xix) Ensure that the user who has an infectious disease hazards and skin diseases DOES NOT
take a bath in the pool
xx) Make sure users are showering first, before using the pool;
xxi) Parameters and standard values for water quality are subject to the Pool Water Quality
Monitoring Guidelines
The latest swimsuit issued by the KPKT and MOH; and
xxii) Make sure the water chlorine test in the pool is done every 2 hours of operation.
Opening of the pool for sports training activities will be effective from Thursday next week
(June 25, 2020) to give some time to the pool operator, the club and a swimming academy to
prepare well, provide appropriate internal SOP and for the purpose pool and premises cleaning.
Pool operators, clubs and swimming academies are also required to create a pool
opening notification with MITI on the NOTIFICATION.MITI.GOV.MY website for
compliance with SOP and for monitoring purposes by KBS.
