two SAP HANA database administration courses, setup Linux boxes with SAP HANA 2.0 SPS04
backup/recovery, DR replication and monitoring cockpit, also as database engine for data transient
analytics environments including PI data. This ultimately helps company achieve a successful self-help
program. Knowledge on Foglight for databases.
Basic personal understanding other open-source databases such as Azure, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
Accomplishments:
Lead SQL Server DBA (taking care of 90+ SQL Server instances): standardize and automate SQL Server
operation of many servers, regions so one small group of DBAs can manage them all via standard
procedure making SQL Server a complete stable environment from massive disorder before, resolving all
issues. Most issues (if any) are resolved in minutes. This improves operation efficiency and saves
company ~$100K annually.
Lead SQL Server DBA: coach Oracle DBAs to administer SQL Server in order to save company double cost
of having two DBA groups. Teach Oracle DBAs to use Idera DM and Powershell T-SQL self-grown tools to
monitor SQL Server in order to remediate issues and achieve maximum efficiency. That minimizes the
number of headcount resources and saves company ~$300K annually.
Perform Oracle DBA tasks such as install new DBs, refresh, migrate/upgrade, security and DB
configuration. Improve/standardize Oracle operation scripts, participate in Oracle on-call monitoring
and alert responses. This reduces human resources requirement and saves company ~$100K annually
Coach best SQL practices and performance SQL coding. This reduces the possibility of database
performance issue by a scale and save company ~$100K annually.
Deep knowledge in broad background of IT databases, servers, OS, applications, network, DNS, firewall,
HADR, which helped tremendously other teams. This saves company money ~$50K annually on
teamwork running around resolving issues.
