to Juicing
This e-book includes:
• BENEFITS OF JUICING
• JUICE FEASTING VS. WATER FASTING
• 15 BEST FOODS TO JUICE
• 10 WORST FOODS TO JUICE
Juicing is one of the best ways to get a highly
concentrated amount of nutrients into your body
with the least amount of stress on your system.
Juicing infuses your body with vitamins, minerals,
phytonutrients, phytochemicals, and more!
The benefits of juicing include:
There have been multiple debates about this topic, and there are many different
view points on fasting. I personally have done a 42-day long juice feast (and many
smaller ones) as well as a 9 day water fast. Having worked with both John Rose and
Dr. Douglas Graham, I have been able to understand both main viewpoints on this
topic:
1. Water fasting is far more intense and beneficial if you are looking for deep
cellular healing. However, most people do not have the time or means to set aside
a few weeks from their life to rest and find juicing supervision (or a coach) who
is able to monitor their safety, blood pressure level, and consumption on a daily
basis. While water fasting may be the ultimate form of fasting, it’s not possible for
everyone, and most people fear only drinking water for periods of time. If you are
interested in trying a water fast in the future, I highly recommend a water fasting
center in California called True North.
2. Juice feasting allows one to reap the benefits of a cleansing fast while still
living a normal daily schedule. Because one is consuming calories, he or she will
be able to take on regular tasks and not need to take as much time to rest in bed or
focus on conserving one’s energy. The detox may not be as intense as when one is
water fasting, but the benefits are still highly available! You feel have much more
energy on a juice feast than you will a water fast. Water fasts are meant for resting
and can make you very tired. Juice cleanses give you copious amounts of energy
and can increase your work productivity. Also, a benefit of juice feasting is that
one is drinking a TON of nutrients—vitamins and minerals—that he or she would
most likely not be consuming in their regular diet. Consider a juice feast to be an
infusion of nutrients into your body that helps to heal you much more quickly. It
brings you back to health!
2. Celery
Celery juice is said to be one of the most healing juices. It’s an anti-inflammatory
food, providing natural sodium and hydration to the body and helps to completely
alkalize the digestive system. It raises the hydrochloric acid in one’s system so that
food digests more easily. Celery juice provides the body with a complete detox,
removing bad bacteria from the body and replacing it with good bacteria. Celery juice
is beneficial for the kidneys, adrenals, neuron function, memory loss, stress relief, and
headaches or migraines. In addition, celery juice is one of the most pleasingly delicious
green juices! It’s delicious!
3. Garlic
Some people may avoid garlic because it tends to give some bad breath, however, it is
one of the most powerful medicines we have. It is an anti-bacterial wonder that even
helps to kill parasites within the body. Whether or not you are sick, garlic helps to
restore the body to homeostasis by ridding harmful pathogens from our system. It can
add a really delicious flavor to your juices, and for those who like a little kick…garlic is
the way to go!
4. Ginger
Ginger is known to help with digestive issues. It also adds a spicy flavor to foods and
juices. It is anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and more. Juicing ginger helps to clear
mucus from the body and is also helps when you have a cold. Juicing lemon, ginger,
turmeric, garlic, and pineapple together act as an anti-inflammatory miracle.
6. Parsley
Parsley is one of the most powerful and alkalizing herbs. It’s high in minerals, phytonutrients, and
also biophotons. It’s an all-purpose fighter and protector for your body. High in vitamins A, C,
and K, it also provides the body with good amounts of magnesium, sulfur, iron, zinc, manganese,
chromium, selenium, iodine, and calcium. Parsley is easy to grow at home outdoors or even
indoors. It’s a very strong herb when used in juices, and it may take time to get used to the taste.
Take time to work your way up to using more parsley in your juice. It’s very strong and effective!
7. Cucumber
Cucumbers are hydrating on a cellular level and help to create a cooling effect on the body.
Cucumber juice is said to be one of the most rejuvenating drinks in the world. According to the
Medical Medium, cucumber juice can help to reverse liver or kidney damage. Cucumbers are
high in vitamins A and C. Cucumbers have a light flavor and are not too sweet.
8. Apples
Apples may seem bland, but they are far from it! They help to make juices taste sweet and
can transform any juice to taste simply delicious! They are an anti-inflammatory food and are
helpful in detoxifying the body from heavy metals and radiation. They assist in cleansing the
lymph system and aid in cleansing the colon as well. When in doubt, add apple into your juices
to help improve the taste.
11. Pineapple
Pineapple is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties. It’s high in an enzyme called
bromelain, and full of vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and C, manganese, copper, potassium,
beta-carotene, and folic acid. Pineapple juice assists with digestion, arthritis, bone health,
and even menstrual cycles. It’s a sweetly satisfying juice that tastes amazing when combined
with any greens!
12. Grapes
Grape juice is one of the sweetest and most delicious juices! It provides a swift boost of energy
to the body because it is higher in calories than most juices. Grape juice is excellent to cleanse
and restore the kidneys and liver. It is also helpful to draw heavy metals out of the body and
assist in adrenal fatigue recovery. A delicious combination is grapes and celery together.
13. Turmeric
Turmeric is a famous anti-inflammatory root. It contains curcumin, which is essential to help
fight viruses and relieve pain. The color of turmeric juice will stain your juicer, cups, counter,
and more. It’s powerful. You can drink one turmeric shot every morning with lemon and
ginger to help and kick-start your day.
14. Lime/lemons
Lemon or lime juice may be tart, but it adds a delightful flavor when added into other juice
mixes. The juice of one to two lemons or limes is usually sufficient and will improve the taste
of nearly any juice combination. Lemon and lime juice are high in vitamin C, antioxidants,
and are also highly antibacterial. Drinking lemon or lime juice in the mornings helps to
alkalize the body and curb your cravings for the rest of the day. The benefits of drinking
lemon and lime juice are endless!
