Dear Saints,
I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we begin this new year, we do so with hearts
enriched by the legacy of our late beloved Bishop Matthew Williams, Jurisdictional Prelate, General Board
Member, along with Mother Alberta Baker, Jurisdictional Supervisor. Their legacy and servant leadership have
enabled us to accomplish incredible feats within the Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida. These giants have taken
their flight in a chariot of fire and we await the mantle to fall upon our Elisha.
I write you today to offer myself as your next Jurisdictional Bishop, "Connecting our Foundation with the
Future." In offering myself, as Jurisdictional Bishop, I invite you to explore and consider five key areas, that
will be essential to our success as we build believers, families, and local churches. Those areas are:
1. Spiritual Revival: A foundation of holiness, righteousness, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. Pastoral Enhancement and Enrichment: Training and Development Sessions.
3. Leadership Renewal: A commitment to training intentionally engaged, innovative, servant leaders.
4. Church Relevancy: Impacting the communities we serve through relationally relevant ministries.
5. Community Partnership: Maximizing the financial and human resources of the community and church, for
the mutual benefit of both.
Having been privileged to serve as Chairman of the Jurisdictional AIM Convention, I hope that my tenure is
distinguished and characterized by fiscal solvency, innovative ministry and collaborative practices within the
departments. I am humbly honored to serve as the founder and senior servant leader of Shekinah Glory
Cathedral Church of God in Christ for the past fifteen (15) years. I appreciate the Lord’s kindness in blessing us
to prosper and His favor to acquire a multi-million dollar campus situated on 2.5 acres of land. Finally, I
celebrate my wife, Lady Michon E. Shaw, our children, and the heritage we enjoy as fourth generation members
of the Church of God in Christ; with our family roots extending back to our late Jurisdictional Founder, Bishop
W. E. Davis and the late, Bishop W. R. Nesbitt, Sr., the establishmentarian of the Church of God in Christ of
Florida who was consecrated by our Founder, Bishop C. H. Mason.
Thank you for your consideration to become the next Prelate of the Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida.
