WORK INSTRUCTIONS Reference:

GAS CUTTING Issue No:


Issue date:

PURPOSE

To define the sequence of operations in Gas Cutting to finish the specified product within
required tolerance for further manufacturing process.

BEFORE START – UP

1. Roll down the hose so that the cutoxygen is within the reach of the job.
2. Open the valves of LPG & Oxygen.
3. After ensuring the safety measures, open the LPG regulator and thereafter oxygen.
4. Ignite the torch and set the flame depending upon the thickness of material to be cut.

DURING OPERATION

1. With the uniform feed and speed ensure that the material is being cut.
2. Ensure that the cut material is well within limits as marked in the job itself.

DURING CLOSURE

1. After the cutting is over, first close the oxygen regulator and thereafter LPG regulator.
2. for the next job repeat the same activities mentioned in “During Operation”.

SHUT DOWN

1. Close the Oxygen and LPG regulators.


2. Close the valves of the Oxygen and LPG cylinders.
3. Roll the hose and keep it in the respective place
