QUESTION 1
Determine the density, specific volume, specific gravity and specific weight of a fluid in a box
whose dimension are 4 m x 5 m x 6 m with total weight of 200 kg.
QUESTION 2
Figure 1 show a manometer used to measure the air pressure. The specific weight for fluid A is
10 kN/m3 and fluid B is 8 kN/m3.
a) Calculate the absolute pressure of P1 if the atmospheric pressure is 101.3 kPa
b) Calculate the absolute pressure of P1 if the atmospheric pressure is 800 mm Hg. The
specific weight for the mercury is 133.416 kN/m3.
c) The Manometer is to be replaced with a barometer using oil with a density of 850 kg/m3.
Calculate the height of the fluids in the barometer for a) and b)
