Charging

CHARGING THE BATTERY

1. Remove the protective cover to expose the 3

prong AC socket.

2. Plug one end of the AC power cord into the

socket, and the other end into an AC outlet.

3. On the keypad, the battery indicator should light

solid red to indicate that the battery is charging.

4. Please note that the battery needs to be AC Socket Protective Cover

conditioned in order for it to provide the best

performance. To do this we recommend charging
it 3 times in a row before playing music for
the first time, disconnecting the unit from the
AC outlet for 10 seconds after each charge
cycle (which usually takes between 1 to 3
hours depending on electrical conditions). Once
OutCast playback has finished and the battery
is discharged again you can do regular 3-hour
charging cycles. Also note that due to the battery
cell type (NiMH), the battery will develop its full
capacity after 5 regular recharging cycles and will
then offer you longer playback times.

5. You can leave the unit plugged in or remove the

AC cord. Always re-install the protective cover
onto the AC socket when not using the power
cord.

NOTE: The unit can play audio and charge the

battery at the same time. If the unit has not been
used for some time the battery will begin to
discharge on its own. If the battery is low, the red
indicator will blink to indicate the battery needs
charging. For best performance and to maximize
the battery life, we recommend using the OutCast
on battery power until the battery is completely
discharged before recharging it again.CONTROLS
