Installation – Labview 2018
Below you can find the step-by-step guide for the installation of Labview 2018.

Start the installation as administrator.

1. Find out what version of Windows you have installed. You can find it by following the instruction at
this link:

2. Create an account on the National Instruments website:

 https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/US/GB_EVALLVUSER/content.xhtml

3. Download the compatible version of Labview 2018:

 Labview 2018 (32-bit-version)

o http://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/2018LV-WinEng.exe

 Labview 2018 (64-bit-version)

o http://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/2018LV64-WinEng.exe

4. Download '2018LV-WinEng.exe' or '2018LV-64WinEng.exe' by using the Standard Download. You


will need to create an NI account, if you’ve already done this you’ll need to login with your account.
Open '2018LV-WinEng.exe' of '2018LV-64WinEng.exe'.

5. Click OK.
6. Click Unzip. The setup files are extracted into the specified folder on your PC.

7. Click OK.

8. The installation wizard starts up. Click Next.

9. Fill in your name. Use ‘KU Leuven’ as Organization. Click Next.

13. Deselect ‘Search for important messages…’. Click Next.

14. Accept the license agreements. Click Next.

15. Click Next.

16. Labview 2018 is now installing onto your PC.

17. Ignore the installation of ‘Install Hardware Support for Labview’.

How to request – Labview 2018
Labview 2018 can be requested by filling in the request form on the ICTS Service Catalogue:

https://icts.kuleuven.be/sc/english/software/labview

You’ll need to provide a Computer Name and Computer ID in the form.

Below you can find the step-by-step guide to find your Computer Name and Computer ID for Labview
2018.

1. Open the NI License Manager.

2. Click Computer Information.

3. Copy the Computer Name and Computer ID into the request form.

4. Fill in the necessary fields and send the request form.

Activation – Labview 2018

Below you can find the step-by-step guide to activate Labview 2018.

Download your received Disconnected License File.

1. Start the NI License Manager.

2. Go to Options  Install License File

3. Browse to your Disconnected License File and select the file.

4. Click Open.
