Introduction & Education Background:

I am Adnan Javaid, born on 18th of October 2001 in Faisalabad which is one of the biggest city in
the province of Punjab, Pakistan. I have completed my Primary & Secondary education both
from this city.
As far as my family is concerned, we are three brothers and two sisters and I am younger of them
all. Our mother is simple house wife. My father was always my inspiration and have guided me
throughout my career. Whenever I need any assistance, he was always there for me and have
always given priority to my dreams. He owns a construction company named “Munshi &
Sons”and also look after our agricultural land which worth approximately 40 Million PKR.
I’ve learned that apart from education, it is also important to take part in other activities as well
for a student. I was always very keen to work hard in a smart way whether it’s my academics,
sports or any other activity and it’s the reason I was never hesitated to be the part of those
activities or competition whenever my school organized any of those activities.
I have passed Year 10 from one of the most known educational institute of the city “The
Educators” in year 2017 with “69.81%” and Year 12 from “Government College of Kurianwala”
in year 2020.
Better and the education of high quality is everybody’s preference.
So after passing out my Year 12 this year. I need to decide that whether I should pursue my
undergraduate program from any of the local university or should I go abroad?
I prefer abroad as the world today is quite competitive and challenging and you need to come out
with the best in order to find a competitive job. So, I visited many education and visa
consultancies in order to find the best available options. Many of them suggested UK, USA or
Canada but I opted for Australia and have appeared in IELTS examination on the 15 th of October
2020.

Why not Pakistan?

It is not an easy decision for anyone to go abroad, especially when you know that the people who
you love, siblings, parents or friends. Every single person whom you love by heart will be
missed. You won’t even get to eat your favorite delicious food which your mother used to cook.
Your family and friends won’t be there to hook up with.
But the truth is that, the overhauling in the education system of Pakistan still needs to be done.
Which includes updating of courses and most importantly are the methods of teaching. Teachers
still here don’t understand that how important is their presentation while delivering the lecture.
Curriculum is the other issue. The curriculum that is being taught in most of the universities of
Pakistan even today is now more than a decade old and sadly our Government also doesn’t show
much concern to change or modify it according to the modern requirements. We all know that
how important theoretical knowledge is before advancing into the practical life where you meet
different hard challenges. But if you won’t get the theoretical knowledge right according to the
modern needs then how would you face those challenges.
Furthermore, most of the universities here in Pakistan are offering a Bachelor’s program in
Information Technology which last for four long years but number of employers and
multinational organizations here prefers an International graduate. So I thought securing an
Australian degree won’t be a bad idea. I have completed twelve years of my education in my
home country but now I need to step up in order to compete in this world which is full of
challenges and for that, International degree is inevitable as there isn’t much worth of a local
degree as compare to Australian one. Education always plays a pivotal role when it comes to
search a competitive job and I know with an international degree in my hand, the job search will
become easier. Research does also shows that an International graduates are always on priority
over the local graduates and get pick right after the first phase of an interview.
Moreover, knowing people from different countries and experiencing the cultural values of
others will be the exciting part of studying in Australia. So due to these reasons, I decided to not
pursue to my further education here in Pakistan.

Why Australia
After when I make up my mind to not to pursue my further education in my home country. I
began to search the best options available for me to study in abroad. As I started my research,
there were UK, USA and Canada were also on the list of among the world’s best education
providing destinations but after a thorough research and on the basis of the suggestions of family
friends who have been living in abroad for years, I found Australia as the most suitable and best
option available.
In the present world among many other developed countries Australia have become one of the
most popular destination among international students due to some of the best aspects of the
Australian Education System. To be honest, the only and foremost reason for me to choose
Australia for further education is the degree as most of the Australian Universities are recognized
across the globe and almost every Australian University is affiliated by its Government.
Furthermore, as compare to USA and UK, tuition fees and living expenses in Australia are cheap
and affordable. Research also tell us that theoretical study in universities of Australia is almost
identical to the things and tasks which you perform in the practical life. Even government of
Australia each year spends 200 Million AUD on scholarships for international students, the effort
which no other country does in order to support the international students.
Another fact which tilt my focus towards Australia is the implementation of strong Education
Service for Overseas Student (ESOS) Act by the government. The ESOS Act framework protects
the rights of international students studying in Australia including the thorough and accurate
information before the enrolment regarding the courses, fee, modes of study and other
information from the institution and institutions agent. This act also give right to the student that
incase if the institute failed to provide the desired course which the student seeks then the
institute will either refund the tuition fees or they shall re-arrange other course in any other
institute for the student. Also, other big opportunity which also does provide to international
students is PSW (Post Study Work) which allows students to gain a work experience in
Australia. It’s a multicultural country where you find students from every nation, color and
culture which makes education in Australia even more dynamic and beautiful. Cultural exchange
is another thing to learn which will make me understand the way people from different parts of
the world use to live. There diversity of the unity in Australia also encourages me to choose this
destination for further education.

Why not UK, USA or any other country?

United Kingdom (UK) is also one of the most popular destination among international students
across the globe. Their frequent change in immigration policies has made me to skip this option
and also the transport expenses are too expensive for any student and the currency rate of UK is
higher than the Australian dollar which will surely make the living expenses and tuition fee in
the UK more expensive than Australia.
Speaking of USA, student needs to go through several huddles in the likes of pre-enrollment
examinations such as SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT (American College Testing) Tests
in order to get admission in USA Universities. Also as per research, I found out that the
undergraduate program in USA takes four years to complete whereas Australian Bachelor
Degree takes three years which means I would be able to save a huge amount of money and as
compared to Australia, USA is bit more expensive in every aspect whether it’s the tuition fees or
a living expenses. Increase ration of street crime in USA were also the reason which discouraged
me to study in the USA.
European countries were never on my priority list as most of the overseas individuals there needs
to face a language barrier and it’s tough as running on the rope to learn their language and such a
difficult thing to do.
Although countries like Germany, Italy & Norway provides are providing free education to
international students in there public universities. But the language barrier which I would face
will be the enormous problem to overcome and doesn’t matter how badly I want to learn their
native language but the truth is, it might take an excessive time to learn that.
The time for the visa processing countries is too short and I might get a visa in a period of 20 to
25 days for the developed Asian countries like China, Japan, Malaysia or a Singapore, but the
language barrier will arise again their also.

Why ATMC Federation University?

Knowing that my father has invest a lot of his hard earned money, I now knew that I need to
make his every single penny count in the best possible way. I started to search for universities
accordingly to get myself enrolled in any of the nation’s top university and ATMC Federation
University turned out to be the best choice among all. I conduct quite a long researched
procedure in order to find out the best available option by comparing the course structure, fees
and graduate employment satisfaction rate of different universities like Deakin University,
Victoria University, Curtin University, and much more. In the end, I found that ATMC
Federation University the most affordable and best choice for me with all necessary facilities
available. Apart from being better ranked, the University boasts of a research-driven approach
producing results and development of a prospective student like no other Australian institution
does.
More importantly, the university is awarding four scholarships currently:
- Global Innovator Scholarship: 20% of your annual tuition fee discount
- Global Excellence Scholarship: 25% of your annual tuition fee discount
- Accommodation Support Scholarship: Assists by supporting students who choose to live
in University accommodation
- Australia Awards: Benefits from the Government includes Full tuition fees and air return
ticket etc
These scholarships the University would be an additional benefit for me in order to save my
money.
Furthermore, ATMC Federation University assists students in learning via various support
services. ATMC Federation University trained their graduates in such a way that at the time of
graduation, they are career-ready, world ready and digitally literate to compete in a professional
world. More importantly, what really matters is that the university has a strong relations among
employers around the world which assists its students after a graduation for an early
employment.
It’s all about up to date & modern teaching methods and the preparation of the student for his
whole lifetime.

Future Career Plans

I have planned to return and contribute within the IT industry of my home country after the
completion of this course. Though the IT sector of Pakistan is not much developed and plenty of
work still needs to be done but a lot of improvement came to be seen in last few years. We are
still in need of a technical resources as well as skilled manpower.
So, after return with an international degree and work experience on my resume, I would love to
work in the IT companies of Pakistan. In fact there are few of them on wish list also.
- NETSOL Technologies Inc.
- Systems Limited
- S&P Global Pakistan
- Teradata
- TRG Pakistan
- Ovex Technologies
I really want to work in any of those companies being an IT Officer, Software Engineer,
Information Security Analyst, Web Developer, Network security officer, Network Engineer,
Application Developer, Data Analyst, etc.
Usually local fresh graduates are getting around 75,000 to 90,000 PKR as their initial salary but I
believe with the mention of an international degree as well as the international work experience,
I might be able to get start with an initial salary around 3,00000 to 4,00000 PKR. Even the
companies here give preference to the candidate who has international degree on his back over
local graduates.
I want to be an IT Officer in order to push the circle of opportunities around me wider. So in
case, if I get fail to get a job in the desired companies which I mentioned above, then I will my
luck a second chance by applying in the service sectors like Hospitals, Education Institutes or
any Media House
There are loads of opportunities for the IT graduates as the demand of the field has grown since
last few years and I am pretty sure that there will be opportunities waiting for me after returning
back to Pakistan from Australia.
There are certain duties for which an IT officer is responsible
- To manage technology services that meet operational requirements in designated area
- Participates as a member of the IT management team in planning and reviewing
department performance
- Provide support including documentation and relevant reports.
- Set up new user accounts and profiles along dealing with the password issues
I am also aiming to start my own IT firm in Pakistan which requires an investment as well as
experience and this course would be the first step towards that aim. Furthermore, I believe
people in Pakistan can’t live away for a long period of time from their loved ones whether there
family or friends, so am I. I want to serve my parents when they get old, I want to be with them
and hence this degree would not only earn me a bright career but it would also make my parents
proud.

Accommodation
I searched on the internet for my living arrangements in Ballarat. I have visited on a website
https://ustaystudent.com.au/ where I got best and cheap accommodation option available only 1
Kilometer away from ATMC Federation University. I can stay in a rental apartment in the
budget of AUD 175 per week.
Immigration and Travel History
This would be my first international journey. I have never been to any country.
Strong Family Tie up
After the completion of my course, I will come back to my home country and will join any
national and multinational organization as an IT Security Engineer, Chief Information Security
Officer or Security System Administrator.
I would like to return to my home country where my family lives. We have our own house, have
own lands which worth millions in Pakistani currency. I don't need to acquire a permanent
residence in Australia when I have my fortunes here in Pakistan.
