The document provides instructions to crochet a dragon lovey including a blanket, scale border, head, wings, spikes, and arms.

The blanket starts as a basic granny square that increases in rounds to form scales.

The scale border is worked in rounds with picots to resemble scales. It is worked around the edges of the blanket.

MATERIALS
 Worsted Weight Yarn (medium weight #4) 350 yards
o MC (main color), CC (contrasting color), tiny
amounts of black
 Crochet Hook I (5.5mm) – or hook recommended by your
chosen yarn
 Crochet Hook G (4.0-4.5mm) – or a size or two smaller
than recommended hook
 Tapestry Needle
 Stitch Marker
 Fiberfill

NOTES
 Gauge is not important to this project and you may use other weights of yarn. Just make sure you are using a
comfortable hook for the yarn you choose.
 Make sure your smaller hook creates tight enough stitches so the fiberfill stuffing will not show through.
 An I hook with worsted weight yarn should give you around an 18” blanket square.
 When working in rounds that are not joined, use stitch marker to hold your place as necessary.

EMBROIDERING EYES
With black yarn sew repeatedly over two stitches that are
next to each other either horizontally or vertically. Eyes in
the picture were over top R11-12.
To make larger eyes you can also sew multiple times
from the bottom stitch to the stitch next to the top stitch.
Then sew from the bottom stitch to the top of the stitch
next to the bottom stitch. Then sew over the top of the
three top stitches.
See diagrams:

Black +’s = single crochets Green lines = embroidery
