    THE PLOSIVES
    The Plosives

     There is a total block of the flow of the air


    from the larynx in some parts of the mouth,
    then the air is released suddenly which
    causes an explosion.
     There are three kinds of English Plosives
    depending on which articulator is blocking
    and then releasing the flow of the air.
    Bilabial Plosives
    The flow of the air is blocked and then released
    suddenly by both lips, upper lip and lower lip.
    Bilabial Plosives: /p/ /b/
    Alveolar Plosives
    The front part of the tongue is against the
    alveolar, which then blocks the flow of the air.
    Alveolar Plosives: /t/ /d/
    Velar Plosives
    The back part of the tongue is against the
    velum, which then blocks the flow of the air.
    Velar Plosives: /k/ /g/
