IN HONOR OF
at 5:00 P.M.
DR. TERRY YOUNT
Terry Andrew Yount was a young boy in Montgomery, Alabama when he first started taking piano
lessons with his mother. She played piano in the local church they attended on Sundays. Terry’s
church music career began when, on one occasion, his mother was unable to play, and Terry
substituted for his mother.
Piano lessons became organ lessons when he was tall enough to reach the organ pedals. He became
the organist at First Presbyterian Church, Montgomery when he was still in high school and
retained the position during his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa,
where he studied with Warren Hutton. Terry earned his Master of Music and Doctorate of Musical
Arts from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, New York, where he studied
with Russel Saunders and David Craighead.
Dr. Yount has served on the faculties of Kentucky Wesleyan University, Towson University,
Washington Bible College, Rollins College, the University of Central Florida, and Reformation
Bible College. He has appeared in concert at the National Shrine in Washington D.C., at the Bruton
Parish Candlelight Series in Williamsburg, Virginia; at the Abby at Melk with the Bach Festival
Orchestra of Winter Park; and with flutist Shonobu Fujiwara in Chiba, Japan. He served for
nine years as organist and harpsichordist with the Baltimore Symphony, was formerly the Chief
Musician at St. Paul’s Church (PCA) in Orlando, and formerly served as organist and
subsequently Chief Musician at Saint Andrew’s Chapel from 2008–2020. In addition, he has served
as Dean of the Saint Andrew’s Conservatory since 2010, a position he still retains. Dr. Yount is a
member of the American Guild of Organists and was a founding member of Church Music at a
Crossroads, an organization sponsored by the Presbyterian Church in America which provided
workshops on church music.

About Tonight’s Program
Within the span of this brief concert, it would be impossible to fully catalogue the rich influence
of Dr. Terry Yount in terms of his contribution to the beautification of worship, his musical
performances, and his personal investment in the lives of his many students. Rather, this concert
seeks to bring together a sampling of the people and the music that represent Dr. Yount’s life’s work.
From music used in the worship of God, to some of Dr. Yount’s favorite pieces, to performances and
testimonies from former students, colleagues and long-time friends, our desire is to give glory to God
for His mighty work in and through Dr. Terry Yount.
Drew Pace received his undergraduate degree in piano performance and composition from the
University of Central Florida. While studying at UCF he pursued a Certificate of Church Music
through the Saint Andrew’s Conservatory, studying organ with Dr. Yount. Dr. Yount encouraged
Drew to consider a career in church music. Drew subsequently received a Master of Music degree in
organ performance from Westminster Choir College and has succeeded Dr. Yount as organist at Saint
Andrew’s Chapel.
Maya Clausen holds a Bachelor of Science in music education from the University of South
Florida. She has been a member of the faculty of Saint Andrew’s Conservatory since 2014. She has
sung as soprano solist in numerous engagements throughout the Southeast as well as with the Opera
Tampa Chorus, and the Saint Andrew’s Chancel and Chamber Choirs. She currently sings with the
Winter Park Bach Festival Choir.
Hannah Pacchioli received her degree in sacred music from Reformation Bible College in 2018
where she studied voice with Laura Yount. She currently serves as Youth and Music Ministry
assistant and directs the Youth Choir at St. Paul’s Church (PCA) in Orlando.
Douglas Bond is author of more than twenty-five books of historical fiction, biography, devotion,
and practical theology. He has taught English and history for many years and is Adjunct Instructor
in Church History at Western Reformed Seminary (WRS). As an outgrowth of his books and
teaching, Bond has led church history tours in Europe since 1996. Douglas first met Terry through
Church Music at a Crossroads.
Sola Gratia Trio features Saint Andrew’s Conservatory faculty members Olga Kolpakova (violin),
Elise Jimenez (cello) and Angelyn Traylor (piano). The trio was founded in 2017 as an outgrowth of
their teaching in the Conservatory and performs regularly on faculty recitals and for the Summer
Music Academy.
Dale Voelker currently serves as organist for Church of the Atonement in Silver Spring, Maryland.
He has taught and directed choirs at colleges and universities through the United States and China.
His friendship with Terry dates to their time together on the faculty at Washington Bible College.
Cecily DeMarco is in her second year of organ studies at the Juilliard School of Music. She studied
organ with Dr. Yount in high school and prepared Dupre’s Prelude in B Major under Dr. Yount’s
tutelage for her Juilliard audition.
