PREFACE
This guide includes all the information that enable the operator to utilize, at one’s best, all the MiniWin
versions up to 1.2.1.
The manual describes the files, batchings and delivery notes management and all that is concerning the
BetonWin automation for the ready-mix concrete production.
In order to facilitate the reference, the manual has been separated into chapters and paragraphs
following the structure of the programme menu.
ATTENTION: THIS MANUAL IS SUBJECT TO UPDATING WITHOUT NOTICE
The last section (if present), Z ENCLOSURE - POST PRINTING UPDATES, includes the possible
updates to the programme happened after the main body printing.
In every respect, It’s an integral part of the manual.
In case of out of standard execution or for custom-made plants, such manual has to be considered as
an indication and integrated by specific instructions.
IMPORTANT: Some functions mentioned might not be implemented in plants supplied in a former date
than this manual release date.
You might contact the supplier to demand the offer for an upgrade.
Moreover, the manual is a general guide about the operation and therefore includes indications that
could be not operated in a particular version of a sold system.
It’s presumed that has been taken note of the Guide supplied with the product.
INTRODUCTION
The system is composed of three parts:
• Personal Computer ( PC ) : the machine is used only for data management, and it serves as an
operating terminal and memory for formulas, customers, delivery notes, etc. It’s equipped with an
HD (hard disk) where the control programs and data are stored. By means of the PC it is possible to
communicate with other systems such as PLC, HOST COMPUTER, MODEM, etc.
• Programmable Logic Controller ( PLC ) with the function of executing the orders given by the PC
and operating motors, valves, etc…. and also detecting signals from the field, like limit switches,
sensors, scales, moisture controls, etc.
• Electromechanical CONTROL PANEL able to manage all the loading and discharging operations of
the existing scales, independently from PC and PLC. This consists of all necessary
electromechanical components, such as counters, fuses, buttons, indicators lights, etc. This panel
includes the PLC appropriately connected to the manual system in order that the entire system can
also operate in automatic mode.
Absolute manual functioning not connected to the Computer is only possible by switching the
“MAINTENANCE” selector on the control panel to “1” position. In that case, the data will no longer be
managed.
GUARANTEE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
The User Licence is supplied together with the program.

The above-named form is strictly bound to the serial number of the Hardware Key and has to be only
one single.
IMPORTANT: THE RIGHT OF ASSISTANCE IS GUARANTEED TO THE USER ONLY IF HE HAS

DULY FILLED AND RETURNED TO ELETTRONDATA THE REGISTRATION FORM OF THE
LICENCE
The Technical Assistance is provided directly from Elettrondata or other firms authorized by it.
The assistance is due only for the technical part of the program and, after having considered the kind of
problem, could be effected by phone and/or by a direct intervention.
The assistance does not include the advice and it’s not obliged to provide the customer with information
about any mechanical problems or about problems not related to the supplied system.
At the moment of the Assistance request it’s necessary to give one’s name; inquiries for Technical
Assistance or for Program use will be not taken in consideration if anonymous.
The Assistance Service will be not given for problems that could be solved by the simple reference of
the Operating Manual or if the problems are connected to the use of other programs.

1 GENERAL FEATURES
1.1 General Features

The equipment, in basic version, is able to control a batching plant having a single loading point with
direct discharge in truckmixer (mixer on request).
It supports up to six aggregates and three cements weighted in sequence, two waters (clean or
recycled) batched by weight or by pulses, two additives (batched by pulses, by time, by weight or by
volumetric batching).
It manages up to six moisture probes positioned into the scale or in bin.
The system fits perfectly to any installation typology (horizontal, tower, etc) and is equipped with all
controls able to give a fast and accurate production to the batching plant.
Provided with a pleasant and intuitive graphic interface, it allows, during any phase, the access to any
secondary function; if there should be any anomalies during the productive time, appropriate audio
visual messages attract the attention of the operator.
The process control is totally unrelated to the electric control board location, because it's possible to
manually operate the batching plant by video operations that can be effected from mouse, keyboard or
touch screen, making the applications easier where the control position is hundreds of meter far from
the batching plant.
To facilitate the plant operation, the system places at user's disposal advanced functions for both
automation and production planning. Through the deliveries management, it's possible to create a
production sequence and to start it in automatic mode up to its termination.
The integrated system for delivery notes issuing, completes perfectly the system at site. The
operativeness of the personal data files (archives) is simple and complete. The recording of all historical
data of production allows the execution of innumerable statistics connected to the production,
consumptions, stock, etc.
The data recorded and managed by the system is afterwards at disposal of all the invoicing and
managerial systems, thanks to a complete transparency of the collected data that may be changed in
ASCII or CSV format, workable from any data processor.
The CSV export allows to generate files readable by the most common programs on the market
(MICROSOFT EXCEL & ACCESS ) offering further changes of processing to the user. The movement
of these data at disposal might be done through MODEM or MAGNETIC SUPPORTS, or INTERNET or
INTRANET networks.
Completely integrated in Windows XP \ 2000 \ 98 \ ME systems, MINIWIN is the most inexpensive

solution for the complete management of a concrete mixing plant

1.2 Basic System Composition

The software is supplied with the following standard configuration:
o 1 Cd-Rom for PC and PLC software installation
o 1 PLC OMRON type CJ1M - CPU13
o 1 Personal Computer
o 1 Colour Monitor
o 1 or 2 Printers for delivery notes or reports
o 1 User Manual
o Hardware key with serial number
The hardware key is identified by a serial number that must be identical to the number on the licence
form; if the numbers are different please contact the assistence immediately to regularize the supply.
The colour of the key is a discriminating factor about the functions that can be activated in the
programme and is supplied following the contractual requirements, according to the Plant features.
In case of unauthorized personal initiatives, ELETTRONDATA will apply its right to cancel all the
guarantee service and servicing related to the software.
The supply includes the Licence Form: this is registered in retailer name from who the system has been
bought and reports the data relevant to Elettrondata job order.
In the recording coupon, that has to be sent to Elettrondata, should be specified the user head office
and the site's address where the system is installed.
It's right to take note of the recording conditions marked on the back of the document in subject.
The recording coupon has to reach Elettrondata within the terms fixed on the back of the user Licence
document.
1.3 Hardware Requirements

A minimum hardware and software configuration is required for the system to work correctly.
Elettrondata disclaims all responsibility for any possible malfunction following the alteration of the
original supplied system, unless tested and certified by Elettrondata itself.
The minimum required system features are the following:

o 64 Mbyte of RAM memory
o Video adapter with 800x600 minimum resolution, 24 bit color
o Hard Disk with 2 Gbyte free space
o Cd-Rom
o RS232 Serial interface Port ( COM ) or USB
o Printer compatible with operating system
Operating System:
The program is compatible with the following operative Systems:
Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP
The usability with operative systems different from the above mentioned ones, does not guarantee the
real operating of the product.
Optional Hardware :
o Network interface card
o Sound Card
o External Modem or PCI/ISA internal Modem
1.4 Software Installation

The software package includes a CD-ROM to restore the program in case of failure or malfunction of the
personal computer and for the PLC program re-installation.
It's severely forbidden to install the Software on other Personal Computers, unless these are strictly
connected to the necessities of the plant on which the system is working; each product that has to be
utilized needs a valid licence number given by Elettrondata S.r.l
Installation procedure
o Close all running applications
o Insert the installation cd-rom in the reader
o Start the installation program that is in the PC folder on the cd-rom
o Follow the on-screen instructions; we recommend to accept all default settings by pressing the
Next button
o When the installation is complete, press the Finish button; restart the system if requested by the
installation procedure
o Start the installation of the PlcWin software utility, that can be found in the folder of the same
name on the cd-rom, following the above procedure
o Start the installation of the TrWin software utility, that can be found in the folder of the same
name on the cd-rom, following the above procedure
o If an installation of the PLC software is needed, start the PlcWin program (Start menu -
Programs, PlcTools) and refer to its user guide
o Remove the cd-rom from the reader
o Start the main program by double-clicking on the icon created during the installation
PC software Upgrade procedure

o We recommend to always make a Backup of All Archives before a software upgrade; this only
for data-safety reasons, since the updated software will automatically use the archives stored in
the system
o Carry out the same operations described in the installation procedure: the software will be
updated automatically
At the software’s first start, the succesful upgrade will be notified to the user; if some files have been
replaced, a backup copy of the old ones will be made on a specific folder.
PLC software Upgrade procedure
Start the PlcWin program (Start menu - Programs, PlcTools) and refer to its user guide.
1.5 Insert Licence

At the first program start, the user will be asked to insert the Licence Code and the Order Number; the
supplied data have to correspond with those indicated in the user licence.
If the data are not correct, the program cannot be used.
For additional informations about the user licence, see "Basic System Composition ".
Note: the order number can be preset if this information is saved in the installation cd-rom.

2.1 Main Page

Three areas can be found on the main page:

To exit the programme press the close button or F5 key or select, from the Batch menu, the function
"Close MiniWin".
Alternatively, it’s possible to switch off the computer by selecting the command "Close the System"
from the Batch menu.
2.2 Main Menu

The programme functions can be accessed from the main menu.
Press the ALT key and hold it down while pressing the key corresponding to the first letter of the item to
select.
o Batch

2.3 About
This page (that can be reached from the ? menu) shows several informations about the software and
the system.
The informations are the following:
o PC version: version and date of the PC software
o Order Number: if it has not been entered at the first start, press the button to insert it now
o Last service disk: creation time and date of last service disk
o Licence Number
o Document number (as in user licence)
o Key (as in user licence)
Use the print button to print these informations.
IMPORTANT: in case of Customer Service by Elettrondata or other companies authorized by

Elettrondata, please report the informations shown in this window.
2.4 OnLine Help

The program is provided with on line Help management organized in several topics and accessible in
two ways: direct mode or total mode.
o Direct Mode
To operate the help in direct mode press the F1 Key, that is active in every point of the program: if a
specific help for the on-screen function is provided, this will be directly displayed.
Otherwise the total access will be operated.
o Total Mode
To access this function select HELP in the main menu or press SUMMARY when you are in the
"direct" mode.
The help index shows all the chapters and topics present; the current topic is highlighted.
To open a chapter and see its topics, click on a "book" and then press OPEN (or ENTER); follow the
same procedure to read the contents of a topic.
The ESC Key allows to leave the function.
From the on line help it is possible to print a single topic or more selected topics: the PRINT key
activates in this function.
2.5 Status of the plant

All the information relative to the following are displayed graphically:
1. Products
• Aggregates storage hoppers (brown)
• Cement Silos (green)
• Water System (sky blue) relative to first and second water or recycled and clean water
• Additives System (magenta)
By moving the mouse pointer over a product, the description of the raw material associated to the
product is shown.
With a left-click on a silo, the manual stock update page is shown for the relative product. With a
right-click, the software shows the Manual Commands window for the relative product (when the
plant is in manual operation).
The quantities of product batched are represented during batching; a green line indicates the set
point to reach while a red line indicates the tolerance. The silos relative to products not used in
the current batching process are shown as transparent.
When no batching is being done, the stock of material inside the silos is represented.
During batching of a product an arrow of the same colour facing down towards the scale
indicates that extraction is in progress; in addition, the number of the silo is displayed on a red
background.
The vibrators status (if enabled) for aggregates and cements is shown with a "V" on the silos.
2. Scales
• Aggregates Scale (brown)
• Cement Scale (green)
• Water Batching (sky blue)
• Additive Batching (magenta)
Scale status is displayed by the side of its name with the following messages:
o Cyc.ON: the scale is batching (extraction from the hoppers) the components selected in
the formula
o CycEnd: the scale has finished batching the components selected in the formula
o Tare: the scale is completely empty, that is, its weight is less than the tare value set in the
scale parameters
o OwfTol: there is an off-tolerance alarm while a component is being extracted or the scale
has exceeded the set full scale value
o OwfTim: while a component is being extracted or while the scale is being discharged the
maximum time, set in the scale parameters, has been exceeded for doing this job.
The number of cycles and sub cycles carried out by the scale during the automatic batching
phase is indicated on the left.
The total weight on the scale (including tare weight) and the relative unit of measure are shown
in the centre.
Under the weight, a bar represents the total extracted weight with reference to the Total Set of
the on going formula (indicated with a green mark); tolerance is indicated with a red mark.
The name of the product being extracted is shown at the bottom of the scale. A bar represents
the quantity of product extracted with reference to the Set point set in the formula (indicated with
a green mark); tolerance is indicated with a red mark. The set point and the weight read for the
product being extracted are also explicitly given at the bottom left and at the bottom right
respectively.
With a right-click on the scale, the software shows the Manual Commands window for the
relative product (when the plant is in manual operation).
The vibrators status (if enabled) for aggregates and cements is shown with a "V" below the
scale.
3. Aggregates Pre-Load
The aggregates pre-load (if present) is displayed between the aggregates group and the mixer.
Pre-charge-full status is shown by the colour of the pre-charge itself (grey=empty, brown=full).
With a right-click, the software shows the Manual Commands window (when the plant is in
manual operation).
The current sub-cycle and the total number of sub-cycles are shown on the top, and the vibrator
status is shown in the center.
4. Skip
The skip (if present) is displayed between the aggregates group and the mixer.
The skip-full status is shown by the colour of the skip itself (grey=empty, brown=full).
Skip position (HIGH, WAIT, LOW) is shown in green colour; if the position is not defined, the skip
colour is red.
Two arrows on the left show the up and down movements.
5. Discharge
If the mix is discharged directly into the mixertruck, discharge in progress is indicated by the
label "DISCH". A label "OBSTR" indicates clogging.
If the plant features a by-pass, its position (truck or mixer) is shown. Click inside the picture to
change the by-pass position.
The M and STOP buttons, present into Main Page, respectively allow to start and stop the
discharge. Alternatively, it’s possible use the F11 and F12 keys.
6. Mixer
If the plant is equipped with a mixer, a table shows mixing (MIX.T.) and discharge (DIS.T.) times
and, if enabled, current and total sub-cycles. An animated symbol indicates the mixer is moving.
Mixer door status is indicated with the following colours: red=closed, green=open, orange=half
open; opening and closing are indicated with a green and red arrow respectively.
The following data are given in the centre: mixer discharge status (automatic or manual), manual
water.
It is possible to set/start/stop manual water by pressing the relative button.
When the function is enabled (plant paused), click on the inside of the mixer to access the
Manual Commands menu; click on the status box to set the discharge to automatic/manual
mode.
7. Formula in execution
Information relative to the formula in execution is displayed at right of the page. In particular the
number, code and name of the above mentioned formula are given besides the cubic metres per
sub-cycle, cycle time, number of cycles and sub-cycles.
By clicking in the formula box you access the formula’s window of details; by right-clicking you
access the Deliveries page.
8. Delivery Note
Information relative to the delivery note associated to the ongoing batching is given at the bottom
right of the page. In particular the number of the delivery note, customer, mixertruck and
destination codes are given.
By clicking on the delivery note’s box (if it has already been entered) you access to the view/edit
page of the delivery note.
9. Automatic Start
The automatic start status is showed in green color when active, or in red color when disabled.
By Clicking with the mouse you can open the Delivery Management page.
Press the F8 key or use the Delivery Management page to activate the "Automatic Start".
NOTE : if alternative screen layout is selected, it shows the following differences:

o The default colours for cements and additives are respectively gray and red
o On each silo the set point and the quantity batched are shown; the latter is green if in tolerance,
yellow if below tolerance, on red background if out of tolerance
o The total set point is shown on the scales
o The aggregates group (hoppers, belts) is displayed in a more realistic way
o The manual water button is placed along the water discharge
o The discharge in progress is indicated by green arrow; a red arrow indicates clogging.
o The mixer is displayed in a different way; the door status is indicated by three lights
(red=closed, green=open, orange=half open); opening and closing are indicated by green or
red arrows on the door; mixer-full status is shown by the colour of the mixer itself (grey=empty,
brown=full)
Important: When requesting Customer Service (Technical Assistance ) to Elettrondata or

authorized company, please supply the "Service Disk" (created with the Backup function ).
2.6 Status bars

The status bars, located at the bottom of the screen, provide general information and are used to
execute some functions.
The following information is given on the first bar:

o PLC communication status. A flashing green colour indicates that communication is active; a
steady red colour indicates that communication is interrupted. In the latter case, by clicking on
the button you try to reconnect to the PLC.
o Discharge status (OK DISCH. - NO DISCH.)
o Plant status: BATCH:MAN (manual) or BATCH:AUTO (automatic). By clicking on the button
it’s possible change the operation mode.
o Accept discharge: by clicking on the button, or pressing the F10 key, it’s possible to accept the
discharge end (the CYCLE END BY OPERATOR option must be enabled).
o Batching status: PLANT READY, BATCH IN PROGRESS, PLANT PAUSED, plant not ready
(no message). By clicking on the button it’s possible to pause batching and to restart it.
Alternatively, press the PAUSE key.
o Operator Number: (OP:x). By clicking on the button a different operator can be set.
o Company Name: Indicate the costumer name that use the software.
The following information is given on the second bar:

o Date and time. The system clock can be set by clicking here.
o Alarm status. The abbreviation ALR, which can be red or orange, indicates, respectively, one or
more active or silenced alarms. By pressing the button these alarms are displayed in detail.
o Programme Version
o General messages, describing the selected menu item or the area under the mouse.
o Remote connection icon. The icon appears when connection to a remote PLC is active or when
an external connection to the local PLC is active.

2.8 Manual Commands

The Control of the process is completely independent from the electrical panel.
The parts (hoppers, screws, etc.) can be moved manually only by means of the video controls using
either the mouse or the keyboard (the system must be set for the manual mode via the computer).
When using the manual controls the mouse moves automatically to the relative push button and/or
window (e.g.: by clicking on the START push button the mouse automatically moves to the STOP push
button).
All the parts (screws, belts, etc.) have one command to start and one to stop. Only extraction of the
aggregates and the aggregates preloading vibrator (if featured) have the hands-on command (the part
moves all the time you keep the mouse button or the keyboard button pressed).
NOTE: the vibrators depend on the extractor or scale being used. If the extraction of a product or the
emptying of a scale stops, the vibrator stops automatically. Only in the case of extraction of the
aggregates will the vibrators stop when the manual control page is closed.
To use the controls on the electrical panel the system has to be set on maintenance (via the key on the
electrical panel).
In this case the PLC programme is excluded.
Below is a list of the manual commands available, divided by category:
1. Batching Commands
To access the material extraction controls simply click inside the silo wanted.
The system displays a window where the product you wish to extract is indicated at the top with the
available commands underneath.
o Fast Start: it starts material extraction using both outlets (for aggregates only).
o Start: it starts material extraction from one outlet only.
o Stop: it stops silo batching.
o Vibrator On/Off: it starts and stops the silo vibrator in extraction (for aggregates and cement
only).
2. Scales Discharge Commands

To access the controls to empty the scales simply click inside the scale wanted.
The System displays a window where the product you wish to extract is indicated at the top with the
available controls underneath.
o Start Discharge: it starts the scale discharge device (aggregates: extractor belt; cement: scale
valve; etc.)
o Stop Discharge: it stops the discharge device.
o Vibrator On/Off: it starts and stops the scale vibrator (for aggregates and cement only).
The parts considered downstream from the scale (aggregates: slanted belt; cement: discharge screw,
etc.) are controlled with push buttons M (start) and A (stop) on the main page next to the relative part.
3. Mixer Commands
To gain access to this page click inside the mixer status box (automatic/manual).
To change the mixer functioning mode (by which we mean the type of emptying) simply click inside the
box where the words Manual/Automatic appear.
NOTE: If the system features a by-pass it has to be positioned on the mixer before selecting the
functioning mode. By clicking inside the Mixertruck / Mixer box the by-pass is moved.
The following commands are available when the mixer is in the manual mode:
o Start Mixer: it starts the mixer motor.
o Stop Mixer: it stops the motor.
o Mouth Opening: it starts movement to open the discharge outlet.
o Mouth Closing: it closes the discharge outlet.
NOTE: In the event of a partial opening, the system will stop on this position. It is up to the operator to
click again on the "Mouth Opening" button to open the discharge outlet fully.
4. Manual Water to Truck / Mixer

To access this function press the relative H2O button in the middle of the main page.
Enter the additional quantity of water to be batched in litres and then press the button
o Start Clean: to add this quantity as clean water.
o Start Recycled: to add dirty water.
The addition of water can be interrupted before the set value is reached by pressing "Stop".
NOTE: This function is enabled only with water batching by pulses or manual water by pulses in mixer.
5. Aggregates Preload
This function may only be accessed if the system features an aggregates preload or skip.
By clicking inside the image the manual commands window appears.
The commands available for the AGGREGATES PRELOAD are:
o Start/Stop Opening: it starts and stops outlet opening
o Start/Stop Closing: it starts and stops outlet closing
o Vibrator: it starts the vibrator inside the preload. This device functions only with the hands-on
command (it vibrates all the time you hold the button on the mouse or on the keyboard down).
The possible commands for the SKIP are:
o Start/Stop Skip Up: it starts and stops upward skip movement. When it reaches the up position
the discharge outlet opens automatically.
o Start/Stop Skip Down: it starts and stops downward skip movement (for loading material).
6. Filters
To start (or stop) the SUCTION INTAKE and/or the FILTER DISCHARGE simply click on the relative
button on the right of the main page.
Note
Some of the manual commands described above can also be started by way of the menu batching -
special keys.
2.9 Operator Identification

The operator must identify himself by entering a number and a password.
If identification is correct the number is displayed on the status bar and remains active until the relative
button is used to set a different operator.
2.10 Active Alarms

The active and/or silenced alarms are displayed on this page.
The page opens automatically when a new alarm is activated or the operator can open it if there are
active alarms by pressing the relative button on the status bar.
The active alarms are displayed in red while the silenced alarms are coloured orange.
To have more information double click on the alarm number.
The "Silencing" button permits acceptance of the alarm.
The "Reset" button, active only for some alarms, permits acceptance of the alarm and to cancel it
automatically (e.g. tolerance alarms).
The "OK" button closes the window.
3 BATCH
3.1 Batch Menu

To open this menu press key B or ALT-B.
3.2 Start Batch

A new batching can be performed automatically with the Start function, guiding the operator in the
choices in order to "start" batching correctly.
To access this function activate the batching menu (key B or ALT-B) and press key S, or press the F3
key.
The first selection the programme proposes is the formula to execute. A list of the available recipes is
displayed in number order. By clicking on the heading of a column you can also put the list in code order
or name order. To carry out a search, type the initial letters of the formula to find: the selection bar
moves according to the letters typed in and the order type used. To accept the selected formula press
the confirm button.
Once the formula has been chosen, it is displayed in its entirety.
Set the quantity in cubic metres (supposing that the formula stored is relative to a volume equal to 1m3).
If cycle setting is enabled, indicate the number of cycles you intend to carry out, that is, how many
batchings with the required quantity must be carried out, according to how many mixertrucks have to be
loaded with that formula.
Press the confirm button: the formula data are reprocessed automatically to obtain the batching
required.
If the plant features a mixer and by-pass for loading in the mixertruck, it is possible to indicate the use of
the mixer by clicking on the relative check box and setting the mixing (MIX.T.) and discharge (DIS.T.)
times. Depending on the choice made, the programme refers the m3 set to the mixer or plant capacity
and divides the weighing (cycle) into a number of adequate sub cycles. Other parameters used to divide
the cycle in sub cycles are: the "Maximum Quantity extractable from each hopper" (see product
parameters), the scales full scale (see scales parameters) and mixer maximum capacity.
The operator can set the maximum number of m3 per sub-cycle if he needs to carry out a batching with
a reference capacity which is lower than the plant or mixer standard capacity.
If manual formula data modification is enabled, by pressing the modification button it is possible to set
the single sets of the products, the water in the mixertruck and the m3 returned in the mixertruck.
To give final confirmation, press the start button.
If the plant is ready, batching will start instantly; If the plant is with mixer and by-pass, it come some
indicated the position and the move, is defined through the picture control ( flag mixer ).
To generate a delivery in stand-by use the relative function on the Delivery Management page.
3.3 Confirm Sub-cycles Change

If the "Subcycles with moisture" option (advanced setup) is enabled, before sending the formula to
execute to the PLC, the number of sub-cycles is re-computed according to last cycle’s moisture.
When the number of sub-cycles is different from the theoretical one, the user is shown a confirmation
page.
A grid contains the aggregates theoretical sets, the moisture-corrected values, and the totals. The
values which cause recalculation are highlighted.
The operator can choose to accept the number of sub-cycles computed according to theoretical values,
to accept the sub-cycles computed according to moisture, or to cancel the formula execution. In this last
case the delivery is set as Suspended.
3.4 Manual Weight

With this function the operator can carry out automatic batching, but he has to set the weights wanted
for each single extractor manually. In manual weighing it is also possible to set the number of cycles,
the water in the mixertruck, the m3 delivered, mixing time (MIX.T.) and discharge time (DIS.T.).
Once the weights have been entered, confirm batching start by pressing the start button; If the plant is
with mixer and by-pass, it come some indicated the position and the move, is defined through the
picture control ( flag mixer ).
NOTE: in the case of automatic batching with Manual Weight, it is impossible to divide into sub cycles
because there is no reference to the m3. In this case, a batching that is higher than the quantities set will
not be carried out and a SCALE OVERFLOW alarm will be signalled.
3.5 Delivery Management

With this function a queue of deliveries can be managed. It is, therefore, possible to set the batchings to
be carried out beforehand: they will be carried out automatically in sequence.
Any ongoing and stand-by deliveries on the PLC are shown at the top of the page, while all the filed
deliveries are listed on the rest of the page.
The "Status" column can have the following values:

o Ready: delivery is ready to be executed
o Ongoing: the delivery is relative to an ongoing batching on the PLC
o Waiting: the delivery is in stand-by on the PLC
o Suspended: to carry out the delivery, you have to enable it with the relative button; a
suspended delivery causes all the deliveries that follow in the queue to be suspended as well
o Executed: the delivery has been carried out
o Modified: one or more formula’s set-points have been modified by the operator; the delivery is
shown in orange color
The "Type" column can have the following values:

o Ope: operator generated delivery
o Ext: batching started with an external command
o Ord: batching started with an order
The buttons for controlling the queue of deliveries are at the bottom of the window:
o Move to top: the selected delivery is moved to the top of the list and will be the next to be
carried out
o Move up: the selected delivery is moved up on the list
o Move down: the selected delivery is moved down on the list
o Move to bottom: the selected delivery is moved to the bottom of the list
o Clean Deliveries: use this function to eliminate from the queue all deliveries that have been
carried out. When the number of deliveries exceeds the maximum value set in setup, the
deliveries carried out less recently are automatically eliminated one by one
o Start now: this forces execution of the selected delivery even if it is not at the top of the list
and/or is suspended. If the "Multiple Delivery Start" option (see Advanced Setup) is enabled, it
is possible to set the number of copies of the delivery to execute.
o Delete: the selected delivery is deleted from the list
o Add: set a new delivery (as per the Start function)
o Create from order: set a new delivery associated to an order
o Edit: the selected delivery can be modified
o Copy: set a new delivery identical to the one selected
o Suspend/Enable: it suspends the selected delivery if active, and vice versa
When the "Enable Automatic Start" option is on, the deliveries are carried out automatically in the
order in which they are positioned on the list. When this option is off, it stops all new batching so it can
only be temporary.
Is possible attive the option pressing the F8 key.
Each time a Batch Start is executed, the system automatically generates a delivery related to it.
Batching is started automatically as soon as the PLC is ready to do it. It this does not happen, one of the
following could be the reason:
o one or more scales are not in TARE
o the PLC is not connected normally (check this on the status bar)
o the previous cycle has still not finished or recorded
o the plant is not on AUTOMATIC (check this on the status bar)
IF THE PLANT GOES OVER TO MANUAL, AND THERE ARE "READY" DELIVERIES, THE
AUTOMATIC START FUNCTION IS DISABLED BY THE SYSTEM AND THE USER IS NOTIFIED.
3.6 Modifying a Delivery

A delivery can be displayed/modified on this page.
NOTE: the ongoing delivery and the deliveries generated by external programmes cannot be modified.
To modify the displayed delivery, press the edit button. Once modified, press the confirm button to store
the changes made.
If delivery note management is enabled, there will also be a detail button that can be used to enter a
new delivery note associated to the delivery or to display/modify it if it already exists.
3.7 Copy Delivery

A new delivery can be generated with this function, starting from one in the archive.
At this stage it is possible to enter data for the new delivery. To modify it still further, use the Edit
delivery function.
If delivery note management is enabled, it is possible to generate a new delivery note automatically
starting from the one of the selected delivery; for this purpose select the Copy Delivery Note option.
3.8 Alarms
In this window it is possible to read the status of all the plant alarms.
The list of alarms is in number order. By clicking on the heading of the columns the list can be put in
order according to the description or alarm status.
To have a printout of the list press the print button.
Any word can be looked for in the alarms descriptions with the search button; to repeat the search press
the F3 key.
The condition of each alarm is identified by the colour of the text and by the VALUE column:
o if the alarm is coloured green and the value is OFF, it means there is no alarm condition
o if the alarm is coloured red and the value is ON, it means there is an alarm condition and it
has not been silenced (the operator has not acknowledged it yet)
o if the alarm is coloured yellow and the value is SILENCED, it means there is still an alarm
condition but the operator has acknowledged it.
An alarm can be acknowledged with the silencing button on this page, on the active alarms page, with
the Alarm Reset function in the Batch menu, or by pressing CTRL-T.
For more information about the single alarms, double-click on the alarm you are interested in (see
Appendix B).
3.9 Reset Alarm

This function is used to CANCEL (delete) an alarm caused by a system malfunction.
To access this function activate the batching menu (key B or ALT-B) and press key R, or press the F7
key.
The reset function cancels the alarm only if the cause that generated it has been eliminated. Otherwise,
the system silences the alarm siren but does not cancel the alarm, therefore operations cannot be
continued. When the cause has bben eliminated, the reset function cancels the alarm and then the
operations that were interrupted can be continued.
3.10 Tolerance
This function is used to accept alarms due to extraction errors in the batching phase. This function’s
effect is immediate. Before confirming it is advisable to verify the extent of the error in batching and
make whatever corrections may be necessary MANUALLY.
The displayed error messages refer to the scale on which the off-tolerance condition was found in the
batching phase.
If this alarm happens too often, it is advisable to alter the Products Parameters to optimise batching and
the possible tolerances.
To execute the function,
o with the mouse: open the Batch menu, enter the Tolerance menu and then click on the item
relative to the scale for which you are going to accept the error.
o with the keyboard: open the Batch menu pressing key B or ALT-B, enter the Tolerance menu
selecting it with the arrow keys or by pressing key T. Once this is done, use the arrow keys to
select the item relative to the scale for which you are going to accept the error and press the Enter
key, or press key A for the aggregates, C for the cement, W for water or D for the additives.
NOTE: if the tolerance alarm concerns a moisture reading, you have to act as if it was an error on the
aggregates scale and then accept the alarm in the same way as for the tolerance alarms relative to the
extraction of aggregates.
3.11 End of Weighing

This function is used to force the END of extraction and to finish loading the scale selected.
It is to be used at the operator’s discretion because, once it is effected during an automatic batching
cycle, it will no longer be possible to continue weighing. To carry out the operation proceed as follows:
o with the mouse: open the Batch menu, enter the End of Weighing menu and then click on the
item relative to the scale on which to set the End of Weighing.
o with the keyboard: open the Batch menu pressing key B or ALT-B, enter the End of Weighing
menu using the arrow keys to select it or by pressing key E. Select the scale on which you wish to
set the End of Weighing and press the Enter key or key A for the aggregates, C for the cement, W
for water, D for the additives or F for the fibres.
3.12 Change Extractor

This function is used to change the extractor during the batching phase if the hopper or storage silo is
empty or is unable to batch the product due to mechanical problems.
A list of the products associated to the extractor’s number is displayed. Select the box relative to the
"blocked" silo and change the number of the extractor with the one you want to use to extract the
material (identical or similar to the product set in the formula). Extraction continues automatically from
the hopper or silo selected.
The modified extractor-product association will be restored to the original values automatically at the
start of the next load.
3.13 Start Last Cycle

This function is used to execute Batch Start using the data set in the last cycle executed; the values set
(m3, cycles, formula, etc.) remain valid.
3.14 Orders Management

With this function it is possible to set the orders programmed day by day, facilitating delivery
management.
For each order entered the following data are shown on the list:
o Progressive number
o Customer Name or Code (depending on the Advanced Setup)
o Destination Code
o Mixertruck code
o Pump Code
o Expected Day and Time of delivery
o Formula Number, Code or Name (depending on the Advanced Setup)
o Cubic Metres Ordered
o Cubic Metres Delivered
Some detailed data about the order selected is given in the middle of the page:
o Customer Name
o Destination Name
o Formula Name
o Use with or without Mixer
o Notes
With the buttons at the bottom of the page it is possible to:

o modify the selected order
o execute orders cleanup: all completed orders will be permanently deleted
o print the list of orders
o delete the selected order
o enter a new order
o start execution of the selected order: the operator will be shown the Batch Start page where
the order data are already set. In particular, the cubic metres will be automatically set as per
the "per batch" value
o exit the page
3.15 Entering/Modifying Order

All the data that identify a single order are given on this page.
The Customer, Destination, Mixertruck, Pump and Formula buttons are used to select the data wanted
from the corresponding archives.
The small button in the formula area is used to see the selected formula in detail.
The "per batch" field gives the default cubic metres set when starting a new batching for the order.
With the edit button the Delivered cubic metres can be modified manually. This quantity is, however,
updated automatically at the end of each batching for the order in question.
3.16 Formula Data

The "Aggregates Moisture" function, accessible from the Batch menu, show, during the cycle phase,
the parameters MOISTURE
The window is divided into areas for managing the following data:
o Moisture %: it shows the datum relative to moisture read by the probe for each single aggregate.
It is updated each time the read moisture value is accepted automatically by the system or
manually by the operator. As the data refer to values read automatically, they cannot be altered.
o Probes/Manual: the last value read by the probe is automatically shown, if the automatic mode is
enabled; otherwise the operator types it in. With these parameters it is possible to modify the
value read automatically by the probes in the case of a "MOISTURE READING OUT OF
TOLERANCE RANGE" alarm. Probe reading can be altered for each aggregate by typing in a
value by hand. If moisture-reading probes are not installed on the plant, this function can be
used to recalculate WATER and AGGREGATES on the basis of manual values set by the
operator.
o Abs. H2O %: it informs the system of the percentage of water absorbed by each single aggregate
so as to see the quantity of water absorbed in the cycle end data. This value does not
influence calculation of water in the aggregates, consequently it does not alter the quantities of
aggregates to batch; the water to batch will be corrected according to the absorbed quantity.
Furthermore, unless set otherwise in the "Advanced Setup" functions, it does not influence
calculation of the WATER/CEMENT ratio in the mix.
With each batching, the weight of each single aggregate is recalculated based on the moisture value set
by the operator or read by the probe, and the water to batch is corrected accordingly.
Use of the moisture probes in automatic is linked to ALLOCATION OF THE PROBE WITH THE
AGGREGATE and TYPE OF PROBE USED (in the scale or in the hopper) definitions. In the case of a
probe installed in the scale, a KG SET FOR AGGR.MOISTURE TEST value must be set corresponding
to the number of scale tickmarks that correspond to the weight extracted, enough to cover the probe.
To disable automatic working of a probe simply reset the relative allocation.
To disable all the probes reset both types of probe used.
The Reset button can be used to reset a moisture tolerance alarm.
See the "Considerations on aggregate moisture calculation " paragraph for information about how to
calculate aggregate moisture.
Select the "diagram" button for show the "Moisture Monitoring" page.
3.17 Considerations on aggregate moisture calculation

Definition of Moisture:
"All substances hold a certain amount of water. Such an amount, given as a percentage in mass as it is
or, more rarely, on the dry substance, constitutes the Moisture Content or Moisture" (UTET engineering
dictionary, 1979 edition).
Example: given 1 kg of material, left to dry, 0.9 kg of dry material is extracted; this means that 0.1 kg of
initial product is water.
According to the definition referring to the moist product we have a material with 10% moisture: 0.1kg :
1kg = x% : 100%
According to the definition referring to the dry product we have a material with 11.11% moisture: 0.1kg :
0.9kg = x% : 100%
MiniWin uses the dry product method, so the reading probes have to be calibrated according to this
method.
Moisture referring to the dry product: the relation between dry weight and corrected weight is (x = %
moisture):
P_ corrected = P_dry + P_dry * % moisture
P_ corrected = P_dry + P_dry * x / 100
P_ corrected = P_dry ( 1 + x / 100 )
The calculation of water present must be done with the following considerations:
P_ corrected = P_dry ( 1 + x / 100 )

3.20.2 Pause/Continue Batch

The function is used to stop or to start the batching.
When batching status is indicated as BATCH IN PROGRESS on the status bar, batch is enabled and
can be stopped with the function.
When batching status is indicated as PLANT PAUSED on the status bar, batch is not enabled and can
be started with the function.
Alternatively, it is possible to start/stop the batching also by pressing the buttons on the main page, or
press the PAUSE key.
3.20.3 Start/Stop Discharge

The function is used to enable or disable discharge of the weighed materials in the mixertruck.
When discharge status is indicated as OK DISCH. on the status bar, discharge is enabled and can be
stopped with the Start/Stop function.
When discharge status is indicated as NO DISCH. on the status bar, discharge is not enabled and can
be started with the Start/Stop function.
Alternatively, it is possible to start/stop discharge also by pressing the M and STOP buttons on the main
page, or by pressing the F11 and F12 keys.
3.20.4 End Cycle

This function indicates to the Computer the end of a cycle, to acquire data and record such data as
Cycle Data.
This operation can only be done at the end of discharge, that is, when the mixertruck is actually ready to
leave.
NOTE: Alternatively, it’s possible push the button on the status bar, or press F10 key.
With this command it is also possible to record the additions of water made manually at load end,
provided the command is activated after having made the above mentioned additions.
If, in the load end conditions, the command is not given within a reasonable length of time, a "DATA
ACQUISITION NEEDED" alarm triggers.
If the cycle is executed manually, the computer, once this function is selected, will ask for the m3
executed (m3 = 0 is not accepted).
3.20.5 Edit Nr.Cycles

The function is used to alter the number of cycles to be executed of the ongoing formula: that is, to
repeat the ongoing cycle "n" times.
Set the number of cycles to execute and press the confirm button.
This function is used mostly in prefabricated plants where the Delivery Note is not required.
3.20.6 Automatic/Manual Batch

The function switches the plant to automatic or manual.
The functioning mode (BATCH:AUTO or BATCH:MAN) is shown on the status bar.
Alternatively, it’s possible push the button on the status bar.
3.20.7 Automatic/Manual Mixer

the function switches mixer discharge to automatic or manual.
A picture near the mixer indicates the operation mode (AUTOMATIC or MANUAL).
3.20.8 ByPass on Truck

The command moving the By-Pass towards the truckmixer.
On the main page, near the discharge, it comes indicate its position (BY-PASS: TRUCK or BY-PASS:
MIXER).
3.20.9 ByPass on Mixer

The command moving the By-Pass towards the mixer.
On the main page, near the discharge, it comes indicate its position (BY-PASS: TRUCK or BY-PASS:
MIXER).
3.20.10 Aspirator
The function is used to start (or stop) the ASPIRATOR.
On the main page, a button indicate its operation.
3.20.11 Discharge Filter

The function is used to start (or stop) the DISCHARGE FILTER.
On the main page, a button indicate its operation.
3.20.12 Scales Trend

This function can be accessed from the Batch menu (special functions) or from the main page by
clicking on one of the scales (if automatic plant).
It displays the graph of the scales’ weights (Aggregates, Cements, Water, Additives) and of an
additional parameter that can be set by the operator.
To enable display of this last parameter, press the edit button, set the parameter, select the "Enable"
checkbox and then press the confirm button.
The graphs show the values in real time, storing the last 10 minutes. The current value is shown on the
left of the graph.
You can select one of the graphs with the mouse and see it in detail (click on the graph to magnify it and
then click again to return to the full screen view).
3.21 Water/Cement
3.21.1 Water/Cement Menu

3.21.2 Manual Water

The operator can manually batch an additional quantity of water when the plant:
o is in the manual functioning mode, or
o has finished the batching and discharge cycles and is waiting for the cycle end confirmation
from the operator, or
o has reached the set water subtraction value
NOTE: manual water can be set and batched also by pressing the H2O button in the centre of the main
page.
3.21.3 Set Cement

In this page is possible setting the quantity of concrete to batch with Manual Commands
Press the confirm button after the value wanted has been entered.
At this point, by starting cement manually the system automatically stops material extraction when the
set value is reached.
3.21.4 Truckmixer Water

This function is used to set a value that corresponds to the quantity of water inside the mixertruck (e.g.
after a washing cycle) and that is to be subtracted from the total water to batch.
Once you have typed in the value wanted, press the confirm button.
NOTE: the last value typed in is always stored in the computer.
4 DELIVERY NOTES
4.1 Delivery Notes Menu

The software for Delivery notes management, for concrete and raw materials, is a part of the MiniWin
components available on request.
It foreseen the pure management of the delivery notes issuing and the relevant storing.
The possibility to export the delivery notes archives by means of exchange files ( CSV format ) for the
plant data communication to possible invoicing systems, is included.
The printing size of the delivery notes form can be fully customized by the user, that has at disposal all
the means to adapt the Delivery notes printing to the continuous form in his possession. Furthermore he
can add the fields to the original Delivery note by simply changes of configuration.
The Delivery note is connected to the cycle in progress or can be released from it.
The substantial difference between the two ways of working is in the next possibility to view the printed
delivery notes. Associated with a cycle number, making easy the search of documents in case of
possible objection of the product.
In the program there are two kinds of delivery notes: concrete delivery notes and raw materials note
(selling of loose products). On this menu, it’s possible:
o New Concrete Del.Note
o New Raw Material Del.Note
o Concrete Del.Note Management
o Raw Del.Note Management
o Configuration
To activate this menu press key D or ALT-D.
4.2 New Concrete Delivery Note

This function is used to enter a new outgoing delivery note consisting mainly of concrete and,
consequently, with a formula associated to it (and, if enabled, an automatic batching cycle).
To access this function activate the Menu Delivery Note (key D or ALT-D) and press key N, or press
the F4 key.
The system verifies the presence of a Delivery or Cycle Data that has no delivery note associated to it,
and provides the operator with the relative cycle details. In this way a delivery note can be associated
during its creation to an already existing delivery (whether it is in stand-by or has already been
executed) or to a cycle that has already finished. Only the most recent not-associated delivery and cycle
will be proposed; to associate a new delivery note to a previous delivery or cycle, select the relative
function from the deliveries archive or from the Cycle Data archive.
If there are no cycles without associated delivery note, or if the operator does not accept the association
proposed by the system, he can, at this point, decide to enter a sales delivery note without carrying out
the batching cycle.
4.3 New Raw Material Delivery Note

This function is used to enter a new outgoing delivery note for raw materials.
The delivery notes relative to raw materials have a progressive number different to that used for
concrete.
4.4 Configuring Outgoing Delivery Notes

This function is used to set the various aspects of outgoing delivery note management.
Important: Each time data or parameters are altered, we suggest updating the Backup diskette
so as to always have an updated copy. This is especially useful when installing the programme
of when there are system failures.
General settings
o Company: company code
o Area: plant area code
o Plant: plant number/code
o Year: current year of issue
Print settings
o Head.rows: top margin of the printing form in lines
o Sheet rows: total number of printable form lines (not including the top margin)
o Left margin: left margin of the printing form in columns
o Copies: number of copies to print
o Form feed: send the form feed command to the printer at the end of any print-out
o Heading: up to 10 fixed printable heading lines on the delivery note
o Legend: up to 3 fixed printable legend lines on the delivery note
System settings
o Waiting Data: if the option is enabled, the delivery note can only be transferred once the return

report is never printed on the delivery note, Ask = the user decides whether or not to print out the
report for each delivery note
o Check enabled customers: Yes = the system only accepts enabled customer delivery notes; No
= the system does not check whether customers are enabled, Warning = if the user selects a
customer that is not enabled, the system displays a warning message but enables printing and
saving of the delivery note
o Str.Yes: for the YES/NO fields it indicates the string to print when the field is YES
o Str.No: for the YES/NO fields it indicates the string to print when the field is NO
o Min.disch.: reference quantity for the minimum discharge control. When the cubic metres on the
delivery note are less than this quantity, the system automatically sets the "Minimum discharge"
field and relative quantity on the second page of the delivery note
o from archive: if enabled, the minimum discharge calculations take into account the truckmixer
capacity set in anagraphics
o Max.m3: maximum number of cubic metres settable on the delivery note
o Add. div/lt: additives in litres conversion coefficient. The litres of additive are calculated by
dividing the quantity batched by this value
o Additives from Formula: it enables automatic set (in concrete delivery notes) of formula
additives data
o End of work: printed string (if enabled) in the case of end of work
o Password levels: access levels necessary for the various delivery note management functions
o Del.note number: number of the last concrete delivery note entered
o Raw Materials number: number of the last raw materials delivery note entered
Waiting options
o Minimal time: fixed time for calculating the allowed waiting time
o m3 time: time per cubic metre for calculating the allowed waiting time
o Sampling: minimum interval of time for calculating excess waiting time
Waiting time is calculated as the time that has elapsed between arrival on the construction site and
leaving the construction site. If this time is longer than the permitted waiting time, the system
attributes an excess waiting time based on the above settings.
Transfer options
o Path: path for transferring outgoing delivery notes
o File: name of the file for transferring delivery notes
o CSV format: if the option is enabled, the delivery notes are transferred in CSV format: field length
is variable and compulsorily delimited by a character (the comma is the predefined character). A
heading containing the names of the fields can be written on the first line of the file. If the option
is disabled, field length is fixed (a delimiting character can, however, be defined)
o Heading row: it enables the writing of one heading line in transfer in CSV format
o Field delimiter: field delimiting character
o Decimal separator: character used as a separator for decimal numbers
o Str Yes for the YES/NO fields it indicates the string to write when the field is YES
o Str No: for the YES/NO fields it indicates the string to write when the field is NO
o Record separator: it allows use of the CR and/or LF characters be used as record separators
o String delimiter: character used to delimit alphanumerical fields
o Date F.: date format (predefined ddmmyyyy)
o Time F.: time format (predefined hhmmss)
By pressing the "Delivery Note Configuration" button it is possible to modify the display, edit, print and
transfer settings of each single field.
4.5 Configuring Delivery Note Fields

The following data are displayed for each delivery note field:
o ID: field identity code, not modifiable
o Desc: field description, not modifiable
o Screen: shows the field on the entering/modifying a delivery note page, Normal = displayed and
modifiable, Obligatory = to be filled in order to save/print the delivery note, skipped = modifiable
but skipped when the user goes to the next field with the TAB or ENTER key, Disabled =
displayed but not modifiable, Hidden = not displayed
o Print: it enables printout of the field
o Len: maximum length in printing
o Dec: number of decimal digits (if any)
o Ali: alignment in printing, to the Left, to the Right, to the Centre, Wrap (lines are printed of the
length specified)
o Row, Col: printing position (line, column)

o Transf: it enables transfer of the field
o Len: maximum length in transfer
o Dec: number of decimal digits (if any)
o Ali: alignment in transfer, to the Left, to the Right, to the Centre
o Pos: position of the field in the record to transfer; if necessary the positions of the other fields will
be modified automatically accordingly
The "Print Grid" button can be used to print a grid in the selected format, to facilitate the above data
setting.
4.6 Concrete Delivery Notes
4.6.1 Delivery note selection

Use the "Recent" functions to access the current month’s delivery notes, "Archive" to access the
previous months’ delivery notes and "Disk" to access the delivery notes archived on disk.
A list of the delivery notes in the archive is displayed; the list can be put in any order by clicking on the
heading of the relative column. To execute a quick search, type in the initial letters of the record to look
for: the selection bar will move according to the letters keyed in and the order used.
The archive is managed with the following buttons:
o edit button: to display/modify the selected delivery note
o search button: to find a Text in the selected column; to find the next occurrence press the F3 key
o cancel button: to delete the selected delivery note from the archive
o enter button: to enter a new delivery note
NOTE:
o When a delivery note is deleted it is final; to cancel a delivery note without eliminating it
permanently from the archive, use the relative function.
o If you enter a new concrete delivery note on this page it cannot be associated to any cycle; to
enter a new delivery note that is associated to a batching cycle use the relative function.
4.6.2 Entering/Modifying a Delivery Note

The following data are on the first page of the delivery note:
o Date and time
o Transport data and goods collection time
o Mixertruck data
o Pump data
o Delivery note detail lines. The first line contains the code and description of the concrete
formula used and the cubic metres batched. To select a formula use the relative button or
double-click on the left of the line. The next lines refer to any additional materials or items for
the customer and subject to a delivery note and invoice (raw materials, any surcharge codes,
requested additions, etc., can be entered in these fields). To select a code from the raw
materials archive double-click on the left of the line wanted (if the product is associated to one
or more silos, the source silo can be selected in the relative column).
o Customer, destination, carrier data
o Reason for transport
o Appearance of the goods
o Weather conditions and ambient temperature
o Print Report: it indicates if the cycle end report has to be printed together with the delivery
note. If the option is active, the delivery note is printed automatically at the end of the cycle.
According to settings, this datum can be set automatically by the system or requested by the
user when he saves the delivery note.
The following data are on the second page:

o Formula Data
o Additives in detail
o Use of the concrete
o Construction
o Comments and notes
o Customer material
o Order data (if the delivery note is allocated to an Order)
o Return data: these data can be set only via the Confirm function
To go from one page to another press the relative button or use the keys ALT-1 and ALT-2.
If there is to be no printout of the cycle end report on the delivery note, the latter will be printed
automatically when batching starts or, if this has already been done, at the moment of saving. To have a
reprint later on (if this option is enabled), enter the Delivery Note page again and press the print button.
If the displayed delivery note has cycle data associated to it, there will also be a detail button to press
for consulting such data.
NOTE: it is impossible to allocate a delivery note to cycle data that are more than one day older than the
date on the delivery note.
4.6.3 Confirm/Cancel
Use this function to confirm or cancel a delivery note.
Once selected the month wanted, the Selection page shows the delivery notes that have still not been
confirmed, cancelled or transferred.
Select the wanted delivery note and press the edit button: the delivery note will be shown in detail and
the return data can be entered.
Press the confirm button to accept the data entered and confirm the delivery note, or the cancel button
to mark the delivery note as being cancelled.
4.6.4 Transfer/Re-transfer
Use these functions to export the outgoing delivery notes. The export format is defined on the
configuration page.
If the relative option is enabled, only the delivery notes Confirmed by the user are transferred.
Transfer
Select the wanted month. All the delivery notes ready to be transferred are exported as per
configuration..
Re-transfer
Select the month wanted. The Selection page shows all the delivery notes that have already been
transferred.
Use the buttons to choose the re-transfer mode:
The single delivery note selected is re-transferred
All the delivery notes of the day of the selected delivery note are re-transferred
An initial day and an end day are requested, and all the delivery notes in this period
of time are re-transferred
All the delivery notes of the month selected are re-transferred, that is, all those on the
list
4.7 Raw Materials Delivery Notes
4.7.1 Delivery note selection

product is associated to one or more silos, the source silo can be selected in the relative
column).

o Ambient temperature
The delivery note will be printed automatically at the moment of saving. To reprint later (if this option is
enabled), enter the Delivery Note page again and press the print button.
4.7.3 Transfer/Re-transfer
Use these functions to export the outgoing delivery notes. The export format is defined on the
configuration page.
If the relative option is enabled, only the delivery notes Confirmed by the user are transferred.

5 FORMULA
5.1 Formula Menu

This function allows the management of the finished material formulas, with the batching and invoicing
data.
Each formula can be encoded with an arbitrary code chosen by the user , alphanumeric type. More the
encoding is intuitive and more will be the simplicity of execution of the batching cycle.
The formula includes a series of identification data that can be recalled in the delivery note print in order
to declare the features of the sold concrete. These data are present inside the formula and are in
arbitrary way fixed by the authorized staff. This offers a delivery note filling in easiness and overall a
data repetitiveness.
Each formula has to be created on the basis of one concrete cubic meter with all data referred to
0% the external humidity, that is in saturated dry surface.(S.S.A)
An predetermined DISCHARGE CRITERION can be definite in each formula, or, if this definition is not
taken in consideration, the products extraction and unload will be make in according to a DEFAULT
sequence.
By means of this menu we can access formula functions and information:

o Formula Archive
o Print
o Change Codes
o Configuration
o PLC
To activate this menu press key F or ALT-F.
5.2 Formula Selection

The list of formulas is given in number order; by clicking on the heading of the columns you can also put
the list in code or name order.
To carry out a search, type in the initial letters of the formula you want to find: the selection bar will
move according to the letters keyed in and to the active list order. To confirm selection press the confirm
button.
By accessing this page from the formula menu the buttons for controlling the formulas archive are also
active:
o filter button: to narrow selection to a subset of the archive thanks to filters that can be set by the
operator. Press the same button again to return to the complete archive
o print button: to print the list of formulas stored in the archive
o delete button: to delete the selected formula from the archive
o copy button: to enter a new formula using the selected formula as a base; the new formula will
have the same data as the selected one and will be assigned the first free number in the archive
o add button: to enter a new formula; the new formula will be assigned the first free number in the
archive
o edit button: to modify the selected formula
o detail button: visible on the formula selection-only page (e.g. at batching Start), to see the
selected formula in detail
5.3 Filter on Formula Archive

Selection of a formula can be narrowed down to a subset of the whole archive by setting one or more
filters.
The following filters can be set:
o Name
o Code
o Formula Type
o Cement Class
o Batch
o Consistency
o Resistance Class
o Maximum Aggregates Diameter
o Exposition Class
Once the wanted filters have been set, press the confirm button: the selection page will only show the
formulas where the fields to filter contain the entered data.
5.4 Entering/Modifying a Formula

On this page you will find all the data necessary for identifying the formula and its parameters.
The number of the formula is assigned automatically when it is entered (the first free number in the
archive) and cannot be altered.
The Name of the formula is normally an abbreviation identifying the type of product wanted, e.g. RCK
200 32.5 ITAL.
The formula Code is normally an abbreviation, inside the company, that identifies the type of product
wanted.
To enter or modify the products click on the wanted box in the Product column and select the product
from the pull-down menu. Set the quantity of product to be batched for one cubic metre in the Set
column based on the unit of measure shown. To remove a product from the formula, set the relative
quantity at zero.
NOTE: when entering a new formula, the codes of the products are all pre-established and all you have
to do is enter the quantity to batch only for the wanted products.
The Formula Type, Slump, Cement Class, Type, Batch, Water/Cement Ratio, Consistency,
Resistance Class, Vol.Mass, Max.Aggregate Diameter, Exposition Class, Additions and Note
parameters identify the type of product in relation to the characteristics that have to be written on the
Delivery Note.
The % Initial water field determines the percentage of water, compared to what is set, that you want to
pour into the mixertruck before starting discharge in order to create a "bed of water". In the case isn’t set
up, the system, use the parameter setting into general constants.
With the Truck Crit. parameter we can choose the mixertruck discharge sequence, that is, one of the
10 pre-established discharge sequences (see Appendix C) that determine discharge sequence.
With the Mixer Crit. parameter we can choose the mixer discharge sequence, that is, one of the 10
discharge sequences to define which sequence you want to use for discharging into the mixer.
NOTE: In the case isn't set up the discharge sequence, the system, use the parameter setting into
general constants.
In the case of a plant featuring a mixer, it is necessary to set the mixer’s Mix.T (=Mixing time) and
Dis.T (=Discharge time) parameters. Both values are expressed in seconds and indicate, respectively,
for how long the material must be mixed and for how long the mixer’s discharge outlet must stay open to
guarantee complete discharge.
Attention: as there are no material detection indicators inside the mixer, the mixer empty status is taken
as being when the discharge time set in the formula has elapsed; make sure, therefore, that the time set
is enough to discharge all the material, calculating that the mixer is filled to its maximum capacity.
With the Print cycle data field we can decide whether or not to enable the automatic printout of the
cycle data for the formula in question.
In a plant with a by-pass (mixertruck and mixer) it is advisable to enter these values for all the formulas
to render them polyvalent by which we mean valid for direct discharge into the mixertruck and for
discharge into the mixer.
To accept the data entered press the confirm button.
Formula data can be printed by pressing the print button.
5.5 Print Formulas

With this function one or more formulas can be printed.
Select the initial formula and then press the confirm button.
Select the last formula and then start printing by pressing the confirm button.
5.6 Change Product Codes

This function is used to change an already existing product code with a new one in all the formulas in
the archive.
This function is useful when the product code of one of the components of the formula is changed. If
the formulas stored in the archive are also compatible for the new component, by using this function you
avoid having to retype or modify all the formulas one by one.
Type in the code to update (current code) and the new code, then press the confirm button.
5.7 Formula Configuration

This page is used to set the items in the drop-down menus associated to the following formula fields:
o Cement Class
o Batch
o Consistency
o Exposition Class
o Slump
o Cement Type
o Resistance Class
o Maximum Aggregate Diameter
5.8 Formula in Execution

This page is accessed via the Formulas menu or by clicking on the formula box on the main page.
The code, name, unit of measure, the set value for one m3, the total set value, the set value corrected
according to moisture and the quantity actually batched are shown for each product. The read moisture
values are shown for the aggregates.
Variable data are updated in real time.
6 PARAMETERS
6.1 Parameters Menu

By using this menu it is possible to access the functions for displaying and modifying system
configuration data or the operator accessible parameters. These parameters differ from plant to plant
and are set experimentally at each installation.

o Generals
o Passwords
o General Setup
o Discharge Sequences
o Silos
To activate this menu press key P or ALT-P.
6.2 Products Parameters

This function is used to set silo and extractor parameters.
To modify the displayed parameters press the edit button; to print them press the print button.
NOTE: in plants configured with Mixertruck and Mixer there are two definitions of the following
parameters. To access one archive or the other, select the associated discharge method via the
electrical panel.
Number (NR)
This field cannot be altered. It assigns a number – going up progressively – to each silo to make it
easier to identify.
By double-clicking on this field it is possible to select the product associated to the silo. According to the
setting of the "Copy to Silo Name" parameter in Advanced Setup, the name or code of the selected
product will be copied in the Silo Name field; the product code will be automatically copied to the Silo
Code field.
NOTE: if two or more silos are associated to the same product, the same code will be automatically
assigned to them, and the sum of their usage percentages must be equal to 100%; it is anyway possible
to manage these silos indipendently, by modifying the codes manually.
To delete a silo-product association, press the "Delete row" button or click on the relative No, Silo
Name or Code field and press the Backspace key.
Silo Name
There are a maximum of 12 alphanumeric characters in this field that give the name of the silo in full in
printouts and on some pages. As a rule the name or the code of the associated product is given in this
field.
Code
There are a maximum of 6 alphanumeric characters in this field that give the silos code and is shown on
the operative batching screen pages. It is also used when entering the formula in order to define the
products used to create the formula.
Extractor (EXT)
This field identifies the fixed product/silo combination (they are conventionally defined as follows: 1-6 for
aggregates; 7-9 for cement; 13 for water; 14-15 for additives).
NOTE: these values must not be modified otherwise there will be inconsistencies in the batching cycles.
Flight
This parameter is used to define the quantity of material suspended between the extraction outlet and
the scale when the outlet closes.
For example, if 1,000 Kg are being extracted and a flight of 20 Kg was set, the automation will close the
outlet when the scale reaches a weight of 980 Kg, considering that the material in FLIGHT (estimated to
be 20 Kg.) will be enough to reach the correct weight.
The "Flight" quantity varies from plant to plant. It does, in fact, depend on the size of the outlets, on their
closing speed, on the extent of wear of the extractors and so on.
Slow
This represents the quantity of product to be batched at low speed and identifies the open/close phase
start value. The system needs this value in order to achieve maximum batching precision.
Let us suppose we want to extract the usual 1,000 Kg of material. Having set a SLOW value equivalent
to 200 Kg, the system will interrupt the "continuous" opening of the extractor when it reaches a value of
1,000-200 Kg which is 800. At this point the actual open/close phase starts and its job is to reach the set
point of 1,000 Kg correctly without triggering off-tolerance alarms during extraction.
As regards extraction of the aggregate, open/close is obtained by means of a series of timed openings
of the extraction outlets; for cement the same operation can be achieved only with screws fitted with
either dual speed or variable speed motors.
Finding the Best FLIGHT and SLOW Parameters

To define these parameters you can proceed as follows: carry out the batching automatically for each
single product with Flight and Slow values = 0.
Batching will presumably go beyond the weight set.
The surplus product, plus a percentage that is normally around 10%, must be set as Slow.
If you repeat the test you should find that the surplus quantity is definitely smaller. Set this quantity as
Flight:
Tolerance (TOL)
This value represents the maximum deviation (more or less) acceptable by the automation, on
component weighing.
For example, we set a tolerance value equivalent to 20 Kg on a weighing of 1,000 Kg. the programme
accepts values read that are no higher than 1,020 Kg and no less than 980 Kg.
If the tolerance value is not observed, the system notifies the operator with an alarm message (see
Appendix B). To accept the error follow the procedure described in "Tolerance ".
Open/Close (SpON) – Maximum opening (Max.O)

OPEN/CLOSE allows us to achieve greater weighing precision when batching the aggregates in the
shortest possible time, carrying out a series of timed openings and closings as described above.
Open/close is divided in two phases: proportional and fixed.
Proportional Open/Close
This phase starts when the SLOW value is reached and ends when the SET-POINT value is reached
minus the value set in the General Constant 25 "FIXED OPEN/CLOSE WINDOW" (see Appendix A).
Example: CONST. 25 = 10 (100 Kg), SLOW = 200 Kg, SET_POINT = 1,000 Kg
SLOW starts when the weight of 800 Kg is reached on the scale (1,000-200).
PROPORTIONAL OPEN/CLOSE starts together with SLOW (800) and ends with the value of 900 Kg
(that is SET_POINT - CONST. 25).
Maximum opening of the outlet in the PROPORTIONAL OPEN/CLOSE phase is defined by the Max.O
parameter and expressed in Tenths of a Second.
Minimum opening of the outlet in the PROPORTIONAL OPEN/CLOSE phase is defined by the SpON
parameter and expressed in Tenths of a Second.
During the PROPORTIONAL OPEN/CLOSE phase, the first open/close command will last for a time of
Max.O; the following commands will last less than Max.O in proportion to the increase in weight, until
the minimum value set in SpON is reached.
For example, with Max.O=15 and SpON=10,
o when the SLOW value is reached the first opening will last 1.5 sec
o increasing the weight, the second opening will drop to 1.3 sec
o with the subsequent increases in weight, the value will drop to 1.0 sec (SpON).
When we have a value of 900 Kg on the scale the FIXED OPEN/CLOSE phase starts.
Fixed Open/Close
This phase starts when the SET-POINT is reached minus the value set in the General Constant 25
"FIXED OPEN/CLOSE WINDOW" (see Appendix A).
In this phase all the open/close commands last as long as the in SpON (minimum opening), expressed
in Tenths of a Second.
NOTE: For both open/close phases the time that elapses between one opening and the next is
established by the sum of the opening time of the last command and the time set in the General
Constant 26 "OPEN/CLOSE ADDING TIME ON X OFF " (see Appendix A).
Maximum quantity extractable from each hopper (Max.S)

It establishes the maximum quantity of material that can be extracted from the relative hopper: it is,
therefore, very important to see exactly how much material can be extracted from each single hopper
without obstructing the relative outlet.
If this parameter is set correctly, when a request is made for more material, the cycle is automatically
divided in two or more sub cycles and the operator is asked to confirm.
Percentage of component extracted (%)

This parameter establishes the quantity (as a percentage) of the component to be extracted.
If the code of the various components is univocal, i.e., that exists once only, this value must be set at
100.0. If the same material (same code) is in different hoppers, the sum of the percentages of use of the
components that have the same code must equal value 100.0.
If this is not the case, during the start of a formula that contains such a component, an error signal will
appear on the screen indicating that it is impossible to correctly associate the weight to batch for each
extractor.
6.3 Scales Parameters

This function is used to set the parameters for each single scale.
To modify the parameters displayed press the edit button; to print them press the print button.
Number (NR)
This field cannot be altered. It assigns a number – going up progressively – to each scale to make it
easier to identify.
Scale
This field cannot be altered. It assigns a name to each scale to make it easier to identify (AGG:
aggregates, CEM: cements, WAT:water, ADD: additives).
Full Scale
It indicates maximum scale capacity expressed in weight (kilograms, litres…). If the sum of the weights
set for a certain scale exceeds this value, the computer will divide the cycle in two or more sub cycles.
Furthermore, if the scale exceeds this value during batching, the extractor stops and the "SCALE
OVERFLOW " alarm triggers (also operative in manual.
Tare
This is the weight of the empty scale. This value represents the end of discharge for each scale and
allows the start of a new cycle.
Filter
This value is expressed in Tenths of a Second and represents the time the scale takes to settle when
the material is falling. This time is taken as a reference by the automation for reading the scale’s signal
which provides a reliable weight reading.
Start Discharge (Start dis.)

The start discharge parameter is a waiting time in Tenths of a Second between the CYCLE END signal
(that is, weighed material ready in the scale) and the start of discharge from the scale.
This time allows the discharge of the various materials to be differentiated and to make discharge more
even.
Stop Discharge (Stop dis.)

This is the emptying time of the scale discharge elements (belts, screws, etc.). When the scale is empty
(TARE) the discharge elements continue moving for the set time in order to guarantee completely
emptying of the line.
Vibrator Test Time (Vibr Time)

Vibrator Test Divisions (Vibr div.)
These two parameters are linked together in controlling the vibrators in automatic.
The first (VIBR.TIME) is expressed in Tenths of a Second, while the second in weight.
Example: VIBR.TIME=30, VIBR DIV=50:
If the scale does not increase in the loading phase or does not decrease in the discharge phase by 50
Kg in 30 tenths of a second, it is necessary to execute a vibration to help discharge the material.
The vibrator will stay on for the Vibr ON time, and in stand-by for the Vibr OFF time before the next
intervention.
Both these values are expressed in Tenths of a Second.
Alarm Time (Al.Time)

Alarm time (AL.TIME) is the maximum time within which LOADING or DISCHARGE must be completed.
This parameter is expressed in Tenths of a Second.
6.4 General Parameters

Plant configuration, or all those parameters( times, percentages,….),resident on PLC, for a correct
batching cycle execution.
To alter the displayed parameters press the edit button; to print them press the print button.
For more information about the single parameters double-click on the number of the parameter you are
interested in (see Appendix A).
Any word can be looked for in the parameters descriptions with the search button; to repeat the search
press the F3 key.
6.5 Passwords
With this function the passwords of each single operator can be modified.
To modify a password you have to know the old value, or code, to prevent unauthorised personnel from
changing the passwords at will. This means that only the person who knew the old code can change it.
NOTE: the plant normally leaves the factory with predefined parameters corresponding to the operator
code, for instance: the password corresponding to operator code 1 will be 1, the password
corresponding to operator code 2 will be 2 and so on.
The operator number identifies the operator and ranges from 1 to 9; this means we can have a
maximum of 9 different operators with different passwords.
6.6 General Setup

Some plant characteristics can be set with this function, accessible with a password.
Nr. of Printers
This parameter identifies the number of printers in the plant.
The values allowed are:
o 0: no printing can be done: neither the cycle end report nor the delivery note.
o 1: only one printer is managed with priority for printing the delivery note. To print the cycle end
report (if required) or any other print, confirmation is requested each time (so the paper can be
changed).
o 2: the system enables printing on two printers, one dedicated to printing the delivery note and the
other dedicated to printing the cycle end report
Print Delivery note

This parameter enables printing of the delivery note.
o enabled (marked with a tick): printing of the delivery note is enabled.
o disabled (with no mark): printing of the delivery note is disabled.
Print Cycle Data

This parameter enables automatic printing of the cycle end data.
o enabled (marked with a tick): printing of the cycle end data is enabled.
o disabled (with no mark): printing of the cycle end data is disabled.
One Report for Page

This parameter enables automatic printing of the cycle end data.
o enabled (marked with a tick): in any page is printed a single report.
o disabled (with no mark): the reports are printed without interruptions.
NOTE: the printout of the cycle end data is limited to data relative to a batching cycle that started and
finished in automatic. If the cycle is finished in manual or is executed completely in manual, the cycle
data are recorded on the PC but not printed.
Text
This field is dedicated to typing a line of text that is used in the printouts, except for the delivery note, in
order to identify the plant or other characteristics that the operator deems useful.
Printer
It allows selection of the predefined printer out of those installed in the system.
Use the "Cfg" button to set the printer advanced settings.
Delivery Note Printer

It allows selection of the printer used for the delivery notes.
If no printer is specified, the predefined one is used.
Use the "Cfg" button to set the printer advanced settings.
6.7 Printer Setup

The following printer codes can be set by the user:
o initialization
o activate bold
o deactivate bold
o activate compressed mode
o deactivate compressed mode
o change page length
o number of rows for parameters print-outs
The "HP Compatible" button sets the standard HP PCL5 codes.

The "Epson Compatible" button sets the standard ESC/2 codes.
Notes:
o The codes must be entered following predefined rules; $nn indicates an ASCII code
expressed in hexadecimal, #nn indicates an ASCII code expressed in decimal, @ss indicates
an alphanumerical string expressed directly. To disable a code, set the value "null".
o If one or more codes are not set, the system will use the default values: if the printer name
contains the word "deskjet" or "laserjet" the HP codes will be used, otherwise the Epson
codes will be used.
o If the "Page length" setting contains %1, this is replaced with the character with ASCII code
corresponding to the number of rows; if it contains %2, this is replaced with the number of
rows itself. For example, with 72 rows, "C%1" becomes "CH" and "&l%2F" becomes "&l72F".
6.8 Discharge Sequences

This function has been added with the purpose of optimising loading of the batched materials in the
mixertruck during the cycle. The number of sequences created (maximum 10) for treating the materials
individually during the DISCHARGE stage in order to exploit its particular features, is left to the
discretion of the operator.
These sequences are recorded with a number from 01 to 10 and can be associated to the formulas in
the archive (this is described in the Formula chapter). This means that the discharge of each formula is
customised according to the features of the formula itself.
6.9 Discharge Sequences Setup

To set the sequence number (1-10) use the relative box at the top of the page.
To alter the settings of the selected sequence press the edit button.
To print the displayed data press the print button.
For more information about the single parameters double-click on the number of the parameter you are
interested in (see Appendix C).
6.10 Silos
With this function it is possible to modify or display the data relative to the plant’s silos.
Number (NR)
This field cannot be modified. It assigns a number – going up progressively – to each silo to make it
easier to identify.
Silo Name / Code

Two alphanumerical fields that describe the silo; to modify these parameters, use the product
parameters function.
Product Name
This is an alphanumerical field that identifies the product allocated to the silo.
Supply
The minimum stock required for the product allocated to the silo. When the silo stock drops below this
value, the silo is coloured red on the main page.
This datum is also used by the system to give a warning if we want to execute a formula for which there
is insufficient material to complete the cycle. This function can be disabled by setting Supply=0.
Maximum Capacity
Maximum silo capacity, necessary for the correct display of the stock on the main page.
To change a silo-product allocation, click on the relative Product Name cell and select the wanted
product. According to the setting of the "Copy to Silo Name" parameter in Advanced Setup, the name or
code of the selected product will be copied in the Silo Name field; the product code will be automatically
copied to the Silo Code field.
To reset a silo-product combination, press the "Delete row" button or click on the relative Product Name
cell and press Backspace.
7 STOCK
7.1 Stock Menu

By means of this menu we can access the management functions of the data relative to the
consumption and stocks of the different products.
o Update
o Stock/Consumption
o Initialize
o Raw Materials
o Cycle Data
To activate this menu press key M or ALT-M.
7.2 Update
The following data are displayed for each silo:
o Name
o Code
o Supply: minimum quantity of material necessary for batching
o Stock (Silo): the left-over stock of the product in the silo
o Product Name: name of the product allocated to the silo
o Stock (Product): stock of product according to the product archive
To manually update the data press the edit button or double-click on the line you wish to update.
7.3 Manual Update

The Number, Name, Stock (in the silo), associated Product and relative stock are displayed for the
selected silo.
The left-over stock can be updated at each new loading, setting the quantity of material added directly
(Input). The computer sums the material added to that already there. Likewise a quantity of material in
Output can be set.
The value given in Supply indicates the minimum quantity of material required for batching; to alter this
value use the Silos Setup page.
Once the wanted values have been set, press the following button
o Apply to Silo: the stocks of product in the silo are updated
o Apply to Product: the stock of product in the products archive is updated
o Apply to Both: both values are updated
7.4 Stock/Consumption
For each silo and allocated product the operator can see the following:
o Left-over stock
o Daily consumption (current day)
o Previous day’s consumption

o Total 1
o Total 2
At each cycle end (in automatic) and also at each discharge (in manual), the computer checks how
much material has been batched by each silo and updates the corresponding Consumption and Left-
over stock.
Today’s consumption refers to the use of the materials during the current day; at the start of a new day,
today’s consumption is transferred to the previous day’s consumption and then reset. It is also added to
Totals 1 and 2 that record the accumulated consumptions separately from the last reset executed.
Because the two totals can be reset separately it is possible to manage them as weekly, monthly or
annual Consumptions or in other ways.
7.5 Initialize
A password is needed to access this function.
The following values can be reset separately:
o Left-over stock
o Daily Consumption (current day)
o Previous day’s consumption
o Total 1
o Total 2
Resetting can involve the silos or the products stock or both.
7.6 Raw Materials
7.6.1 Raw Materials Menu

By means of this menu, product data management functions can be accessed:
o Products
o Incoming Delivery Note
o Transfer
o Retransfer
o Setup
To activate this menu press key O or ALT-O (stock menu) and then the R key.
7.6.2 Products Archive

The list gives the following data for each product:
o Code
o Name
o Unit of measurement
o Stock
The list can be put in the order of any of the above by clicking on the heading of the relative column.
With the following buttons we can manage the archive:
o cancel button: it eliminates a product from the archive
o print button: it prints one or more products
o copy button: it enters a new product using the one selected one as the base
o enter button: it enters a new product
o edit button: to modify the selected product
7.6.3 Entering/Modifying a Product

The following information is associated to each product in the archive:
o Code: once entered and saved it is no longer modifiable
o Name
o Unit of measurement
o Conversion into Kg/l: the coefficient for multiplying the stock to obtain a value in Kg or liters. This
datum is set automatically when the unit of measurement is entered.
o Water/Cement ratio
o % water: product percentage considered as water when calculating the water/cement
ratio (note: additives are taken into account only if more than 3 liters per cubic meter)
o % cement: product percentage considered as cement when calculating the
water/cement ratio
o Product Stock
Press the confirm button to save the data in the archive.
7.6.4 Incoming Delivery Notes

This function allows the incoming delivery notes management, that is the loads of the needed products
for plant operating (raw materials).
Through these Bills ,the products stocks and silos are updated, in addition to the historical stock.
The filling up of the raw materials entry Bills is always done in manual mode.
For each bill is necessary to enter: bill number, Bill data (supplier, carrier, etc…) product (or silo) with
relevant quantity of material.
First of all select the month wanted.

A list of the incoming delivery notes is displayed for raw materials and materials or items not related
directly to the batching cycle. This list can be in progressive number, date or supplier code order by
clicking on the heading of the relative column.
To print one or more delivery notes press the print button.
To enter a new delivery note press the enter button.
To alter the selected delivery note press the edit button.
By entering the Incoming Delivery Notes of Raw Materials we can:
o Record the Incoming delivery notes
o Transfer the Delivery Notes to the data processing centre via Modem or Disk
o Update the products and/or silos’ Stock
o Update the Incoming Monthly Stock
7.6.5 Entering/Modifying a Incoming Delivery Note

When we enter a new delivery note we are asked for the number of the delivery note, the incoming date,
the time of departure and arrival.
Select the supplier by pressing the relative button.
Select the mixertruck by pressing the "Truck" button; the number plate can be altered and additional
Text can be entered in the "Notes" box.
Select transport with the relative pull-down menu.
If necessary modify the carrier by pressing the relative button.
To enter a raw material, click the button in the "Code" box and then select the wanted material from the
list and press the confirm button. Description and Unit of measurement are set automatically on the
basis of the selection made. Enter the quantity in the "Quant." box.
If the product is associated to one or more silos, the destination silo can be selected in the relative
column.
Record the data by pressing the confirm button.
The system automatically updates the stock of raw materials in the delivery note; as regards the
products connected to the batching cycle, silo stock and Incoming Monthly Stock are updated
automatically.
7.6.6 Transfer
This function is used to transfer incoming delivery note data on to a diskette or hard disk, according to
the general configuration of the raw materials delivery note (see Setup).
Transfer concerns the Incoming Delivery Notes for the current month that have not yet been transferred.
7.6.7 Re-transfer
With this function we can re-transfer incoming delivery note data on to a diskette or hard disk, according
to the general configuration of the raw materials delivery note (see Setup).
Re-transfer refers to the Incoming Delivery Notes that have already been transferred. The operator
selects the reference month.
7.6.8 Incoming Delivery Note Setup

This function allows us to carry out a general configuration of incoming delivery note management. The
delivery note’s customisation parameters are defined relative to:
o Company, Area, Plant, defining the construction site to which the data refer;
o Year, identifying the fiscal reference year;
o Initial lines, sheet lines: (not used)
o Exporting to disk, that selects transfer of data to hard disk (marked with a tick) or to diskette
(no mark);
o Export path, path for transferring incoming delivery notes
o Data Reset: (not used)
o Headings: (not used)
7.6.9 Monthly Management

With each change of the month, the Raw Materials Delivery Note data are transferred to a folder on the
hard disk (Data Folder\BOL), identified with the name of the month to which they refer ("BImmaa.dat")
and reset in the work directory. Access to the current month’s delivery notes is much quicker this way.
For copying on a diskette and/or deleting the data relative to the previous months, see the functions in
the Utility menu "Backup " and "Archives".
7.7 Cycle Data
7.7.1 Cycle Data Menu

With this function we can see all the production cycles performed each day; for each cycle we can see
and/or print the characteristic data.
It is also possible to print the whole day’s data.

The cycle data are taken from the data that, at cycle end, are acquired by the PLC. Each day a file is
created containing the day’s data.
The data are displayed divided by month, day, and cycle.
Each cycle records the following data:
o recording date and time
o formula batched and characteristic formula data
o associated delivery note
o names and codes of the products being batched
o batching data: set per m3, theoretical and corrected sets and batched quantities.
o moisture found in the aggregates, water calculated in the aggregates, absorbed water.
The following are calculated during displaying/printing:
batching error, percentage error, total batched weight, total water (water batched automatically plus
water added manually, plus water from aggregate moisture), total cement, theoretical and real
water/cement ratio (considering total water).
With each change of the month, all the previous month’s data are moved into an "Archive" folder to free
some space in the main archive and to make it quicker to search for the last recorded data.
Remember that an accumulation of data in the "Archive" can gradually slow the search function and
even saturate the hard disk making it impossible to record new data. For this reason the Archive must
be kept as clean as possible, eliminating everything that has no reason to be there any longer (see the
"Utility " function ).
Use the "Recent" function to access the cycle data of the current month, "Archive" to access the filed
cycle data (previous months) and "Disk" to access cycle data saved on disk.
Lastly, the "Delete" function lets you delete cycle data of one or more days according to the setup of the
initial and end deletion date.
7.7.2 Cycle Data Selection

Set the month and year (typing them in directly or using the buttons).
To go instead to selection of the day press ENTER or the confirm button.
The list shows all the days of the selected month for which cycle data are stored in the archive. Select
the wanted day and press ENTER or the confirm button. If you want to print all the cycle data of the
selected day, press the print button.
The list at the bottom of the window shows all the cycles of the selected day. To examine the cycle data
in detail, select the wanted batching and press ENTER or the confirm button.
If the chosen batching consists of multiple cycles, another window is presented, where the user can
select a single cycle or decide to display the total sum of the data of all the cycles.
7.7.3 Cycle Data Detail

All the cycle data for the selected cycle are displayed on this page.
Press the print button to print the above data.
With the "Graph" button we can see a graph showing the moisture during the cycle.
If delivery note management is enabled, there will also be a detail button to view/modify the delivery
note associated to the cycle.
7.7.4 Cycle Graphs

When the moisture monitoring function is enabled, the value is stored during the whole cycle. At the end
of the cycle only the important value intervals are recorded.
The above values are displayed in a graphical form on this page, accessible via the cycle data detail
page.
Using the mouse, one of the graphs can be selected and shown in detail (click on the wanted graph to
magnify it and then click again to have the overall picture back).
8 PRODUCTION TOTALS
8.1 Totals Menu

By managing the cycle data taken from the PLC, the production totals by formula can be obtained.
The display/print (Show function) and reset (Reset function) functions can be accessed from the Totals
menu.
The Production Totals refer the batched quantities in cubic metres to each formula. They are divided
into:
o Today
o Previous day
o Total 1
o Total 2
Today’s totals refer to what has been produced during the current day. At the start of a new day, today’s
totals are transferred to the Previous day totals and then reset. They are also added to Totals 1 and 2
that record accumulating consumptions separately from the last resetting executed. Because the two
total can be reset separately it is possible to manage them as weekly, monthly or annual Consumptions
or in other ways. The last line of the production totals display window gives the grand total.
8.2 Production Totals Display

The following data are displayed for each formula:
o Number
o Code
o Name
o Production Total (m3) depending on the selection made
The grand total is given on the last line.
9 ANAGRAPHICS
9.1 Anagraphics Menu

With the Anagraphics menu we can access the anagraphic archives.
The possible functions are mainly linked to the Delivery Notes management: they do, in fact, allow
management of the following archives:
o Customers
o Destinations
o Suppliers
o Truck mixers
o Pumps
o Carriers
A list of the records in the archive is displayed and this list can be put in order by code or name by
clicking on the heading of the corresponding column. To carry out a quick search, type in the initial
letters of the record to look for: the selection bar will move according to the letters keyed in and the
selected order.
The various buttons allow management of the archive:

o search button: to search for text in the selected column; to search for the next occurence, press
the F3 key
o cancel button: to delete the selected record from the archive
o print button: to print the list of data stored in the archive
o copy button: to enter a new record, using the selected one as the basis
o enter button: to enter a new record
o edit button: to modify the selected register
9.2 Printout
This function is used to print a list of the anagraphic data stored in the archive.
Select an initial code and an end code, clicking on the relative boxes and selecting the code from the list
proposed.
Specify, if requested, whether you want to print only the codes (Codes) or a complete printout (Data).
Specify, if requested, whether you want to print all the registers or only those with m3<>0 (marked with
a tick).
To start printing press the confirm button.
9.3 Customers
The following data is provided for each Customer:
o Code (8 alphanumeric characters)
o Enabled: to temporarily prevent the issue of delivery notes to this customer
o P.C. (payment code): 2-digit code that indicate the type of payment agreed
o Name (40 characters)
o Address: 2 lines with 40 characters on each, for the street and number; town, postal code, etc..
o Variation: 40 characters for any variations or customisations, available also when the delivery
note is printed.
o Payment Code: description of the payment code, that defines the type of payment assigned in
one word containing a maximum of 10 characters. It can be used as a descriptive field code
and can be printed on the delivery note.
o Cubic Metres
o Destinations (it is possible to associate to the customer up to 40 destinations). To set the
destinations press the relative button; on the list proposed click on the left box of the
destinations wanted (the tick indicates that the item is selected) and then press the confirm
button.
Once the data are set press the confirm button to store them in the archive.
9.4 Destinations
The following data are provided for each Destination:
o Code (8 alphanumerical characters)
o Address: 2 lines with 40 characters on each, for the street and number; town, postal code, etc...
o Radial and "Rad" zone (2-digit number)
o Cubic Metres
NOTE: A destination can be deleted provided it is not used. Before deletion the programme checks on
all Customer records that the destination to delete is NOT used.
9.5 Suppliers
The following data are provided for each Supplier:
o Code (8 alphanumerical characters)
o Address: 2 lines with 40 characters on each, for the street and number; town, postal code, etc...
9.6 Truck mixers

The following data are provided for each truck mixer:
o Truck Code (8 characters)
o Carrier Code (8 characters)
o Truck Number Plate (9 characters)
o Driver’s Name (20 characters)
o Truck capacity (m3)
9.7 Pumps
The following data are provided for each Pump:
o Pump Code (8 characters)

10.2 Preferences
The menu (that can be reached from the Utility menu) contains the following functions:
o Time/Date
o Language
o Alarms
o Password Levels
o Initialize Passwords
o Temporary codes
o Video
10.3 Archives
With this function we can work on the data archives in order to maintain a simple but efficient
management, paying particular attention to search and delete operations (for saving and restoring see
the Backup and Restore functions).
Select the archives on which you want to work:
o Delivery Notes = Outgoing Delivery Notes
o Cycles = Batching cycles
o Supplies = Incoming Delivery Notes
o Reports = Monthly Stock Management
Set an initial date and an end date using the relative boxes and then press the search button: the
months stored in the archive for the period selected will be displayed.
The delete button is used to delete the selected archives.
NOTE: once done it is final so we suggest you make a Backup of the archives before deleting them.
10.4 Automatic cleaning

With this function the system can be set to automatically delete the archives older than a certain number
of months.
Set the number of months to keep, and select the archives to clean automatically.
The archives cleaning will be carried out on program exit.
Note: the archives deletion is final, so we recommend to use this function with caution and to backup
your data regularly.
10.5 Reports
With this function we can see and manage the Monthly Stock data.
From the Reports Menu first select Silo (connected to batching) or Product and then select the period
you are interested in:
o the current month [Recent]
o past months [Archive]
o data archived on disk [Disk]
The following data are displayed for each silo/product:

Stock = Initial monthly value
Input = Quantities related to the Incoming Delivery Notes
Output = Quantities related to the Cycle end data
Fiscal Stock = Stock + Input - Output
Real Stock = Quantities deduced from checks made by the Operator on the field fisico
Difference = Physical Stock - Accounts Stock.
The products connected to batching are set automatically and updated at each batching cycle. The
incoming data are updated with each Incoming delivery note entered.
The edit button is used to modify the data. To record the alterations made press the confirm button.
The reset button is used to reset all data displayed. To record the alterations made press the confirm
button.
10.6 Production Reports

With this function we can see the produced quantities by Formula Type.
From the Utility Menu select Reports, Production then select to analize batching data in archive
[Archive] or batching data saved to disk [Disk].
In case of multiple plants, you can filter data of the current plant or analyze data for all plants.
Select a period of time by choosing the initial and final date, then press the confirm button to start the
analysis.
The report will show the cubic metres produced in the selected period, for any Formula Type.
Press the print button to print the report.
10.7 Reports by Formula

With this function we can see the produced quantities by Formula.
From the Utility Menu select Reports, Formula then select to analize batching data in archive [Archive]
or batching data saved to disk [Disk].
Select a period of time by choosing the initial and final date; the search can be restricted to a time
interval by editing the fields "from time" and "to time"; press the confirm button to start the analysis.
The report will show the cubic metres produced in the selected period, for any Formula; select the
option "Only records with m3<>0" to show only the formulas used in the selected period.
Press the print button to print the report.
10.8 PLC Data Areas

This function is used to access the data areas managed by the PLC programme.
NOTE: this function is useful for maintenance and diagnostics, therefore it is to be used only by qualified
personnel or as instructed by Elettrondata.
Select the data area to view (DM, EM, IR, HR), then insert the initial address and press ENTER or the
confirm button. Use the PgUp and PgDn keys to go to the previous or next page.
10.9 Alarms History

This function is used to Display or Print the Alarms that have triggered most recently. All the alarms are,
in fact, recorded up to a maximum of 1,000, deleting the oldest ones when the maximum number is
reached.
The number, description, date and time and plant are displayed for each alarm. The list can be put in
the order of any of these by clicking on the heading of the relative column.
By pressing the filter button it is possible to narrow display to a subset of the alarms.
With the print button we can print a list of the alarms stored in Alarms History.
10.10 Filter on Alarms History

By setting a date or alarm number, it is possible to narrow display of the Alarms History to those that
refer to either the date or number set.
To eliminate the filter and see all the alarms, press the filter button again.
10.11 Backup
This function is used to make a backup copy of the archives used by the programme.
First of all select the archives to save:
o Formulas
o Parameters: all plant configuration data
o Products
o Stock
o Production Totals
o Anagraphics: it is possible to select just one anagraphic archive or to save them all
o Cycle Data
o Incoming Delivery Notes
o Outgoing Delivery Notes
o Reports
o Alarms History
o PLC: PLC configuration parameters; the "complete" option lets you backup the entire PLC
memory area
o All Archives: to copy all the archives into a backup folder with just one operation
o Service Disk: plant configuration data will be packed in the BW_Service.zip archive, which must
be sent back in order to receive technical assistence
IMPORTANT: THIS SAVE MUST BE UTILISED IN THE CASE OF ELETTRONDATA

ASSISTANCE OR ASSISTANCE BY COMPANIES AUTHORISED BY ELETTRONDATA.
In the case of the Cycle Data, Incoming Delivery Notes, Outgoing Delivery Notes and Reports archives
it is possible to automatically delete the copied data so as to have more free space on the hard disk
(select the item "Delete after copy").
Press the confirm button to start backup, and then follow the instructions given on the screen. You will
be able to select the backup path (floppy, folder on disk, network path).
Press the "Automatic Backup" button to set up an automatic backup.
Attention: at the end of the starting phase the installer will leave you a diskette containing all the
configuration data loaded at the end of his work, including calibration data. If, when the plant is
working, you alter some parameters to optimise the various operating phases, it is always
advisable to make a Backup on another diskette so you will always have the original data plus a
copy of the new data.
10.12 Automatic Backup

An automatic backup can be planned by setting the following parameters:
o Automatic backup: check to enable the function.
o Data to save: set to "Only PC data" to make a backup copy of the archives only; set to "PC and
PLC data" to include the parameters saved on the PLC.
o Backup frequency
• At every program exit: the function will activate every time the user exits from the
program
• By day: the backup will be carried out every N days
• By month: the backup will be carried out on the day of the month set by the user
o Start date: the automatic backup function will be disabled until this date.
o Backup folder: set the folder to save the data to.
Note: the automatic backup function is executed at program exit.
10.13 Restore
This function is used to restore archives saved with the Backup function.
Select the archives to restore:
Formulas

PLC: PLC configuration parameters; the "complete" option lets you restore the entire PLC memory area
All archives: in this case all the archives are restored in just one operation. Note: you have to refer to a
folder containing a "Backup of All Archives".
Anagraphics: you can select a single anagraphic archive to restore or all of them
Press the confirm button to start restore and then follow the instructions given on the screen. You will be
able to specify the path containing the data to restore (floppy, folder on disk, network path).
Warning:
o This operation overwrites the current archives with those on the disk: whatever
alterations have been made to them after Backup will be lost.
o If you are restoring Parameters, all current working parameters are substituted with the
previous ones: before carrying out this operation consult the technician who started the
plant or Elettrondata directly. While restoring parameters, the plant is stopped.
o If you are restoring All the Archives, then the Orders, Deliveries and the day’s Cycle Data
archives, as well as incoming and outgoing Delivery Notes and Reports of the current
month are also overwritten: we suggest that this operation be done only if the
programme is being reinstalled.
10.14 Network Messages

With this function we can exchange Text messages with the pc connected to the network.
Write the message in the Text box and press Enter or the "Send" button to send it to the remote pc.
Messages sent and those received will be displayed in the window at the top.
10.15 Import Archives

This function is used to set the parameters of external archives importation.
The files to import must be text files, with one record per row and the following field definitions:
o Field delimiter: field delimiting character
o String delimiter: character used to delimit alphanumerical fields
o Decimal separator: character used as a separator for decimal numbers
o Date F.: date format (predefined ddmmyyyy)
o Time F.: time format (predefined hhmmss)
The first row of the file must contain the names of the fields to import as defined in file IMP_EXP.DAT (in
Data Folder), separated by the field delimiter. The "code" field must always be present.
A TO_DEL field can be used to force the deletion of records in archive.
For any single archive you can enable import (click on the "Active" column) and set the name of the file
to read ("File" column).
You can set the folder containing the above-mentioned files by typing in the "Import path" box or select it
by clicking on the button on the side.
The import operations can be scheduled by setting the following options:

o Execute at startup: at every startup the programme checks for the files to import, and - if it finds
them - it imports the enabled archives
o Execute nonstop: the programme checks continuously for data to import; type in the "Frequency"
box the frequency (in seconds) of this check
o Delete files when completed: if checked, it enables the deletion of the imported files when the
operation is completed successfully
o Import Now: import archives immediately
Press the confirm button to save any changes to the settings, or the close button to ignore them.
10.16 Export Archives

This function is used to set the parameters of archives exportation.
The exported files are text files, with one record per row and the definitions of delimiters, separators and
format as per archives importation.
If the option "Fixed length fields" is active, the exported fields will have a fixed length equal to their
maximum length, and the numeric fields will be right-aligned if the option is active. Note: it is possible to
set the fixed lenghts to different values by manually editing the file EXP_LEN.DAT.
For any single archive you can enable export (click on the "Active" column) and set the name of the file
to write ("File" column); you can select the fields to export on the grid on the right (by clicking on the
"Sel" header you can select/deselect all fields).
You can set the folder containing the above-mentioned files by typing in the "Export path" box or select it
by clicking on the button on the side. In the same way you can set an alternative folder for the
exportation made by the "Export now" button ("Manual export path" box).
The export operations can be scheduled by setting the following options:

o Execute on exit: before exiting the programme, the system exports the enabled archives
o Export all records: for any enabled archive, all records are exported; otherwise the programme
exports only the records that have been modified after the last export operation
o Overwrite file: if checked, any data in the export files will be overwritten
o Mark exported records: if checked, any exported record is marked and will be exported again
only if modified (or if the option "export all records" is selected)
o Export Now: export archives immediately
Press the confirm button to save any changes to the settings, or the close button to ignore them.
10.17 Preferences
10.17.1 Time/Date
The Time/Date function is accessible from the Utility menu or by clicking on the time displayed on the
bottom left of the main page.
This function sets the computer’s system time. It is important to check this parameter regularly because
it is important for the storing, data resetting/altering functions as well as for issuing delivery notes.
To set the date, select the month with the relative pull-down menu, and insert day and year manually or
using the arrow buttons.
To set the time, click on the value to modify (hour, minutes, seconds) and use the arrow buttons to
increase or reduce it (you can type in the value directly if preferred). Press the confirm button to accept
the entered values.
10.17.2 Alarms Setup

With this function it is possible to modify or display the descriptions of the PLC controlled alarms.
With the "Sound" column it is possible to assign a sound (.WAV file) to the single alarms: click on the
cell and select a file. To cancel selection, press the "Delete row" button or position the cursor on the cell
and press the Backspace key.
The "Common sound prefix" parameter is used to set a sound that will precede the one associated to
each alarm.
For more information about the single alarms, double-click on the number of the alarm you are
interested in (see Appendix B).
Note: if the function is selected from the setup menu, the alarms descriptions are editable.

10.17.3 Password Levels

With this function it is possible to modify the password level that allows access to the associated
protected functions. It will be possible to access each function with a password level that is the same or
higher than the one set.
10.17.4 Initialize Password

With this function it is possible to initialise the value of all the passwords that allow access to the
protected functions.
NOTE: the passwords are initialised at the numerical value corresponding to the password itself (e.g.:
password no.1 = 1, etc).
10.17.5 Temporary Codes

With this function it is possible to define temporary code strings. They are used for entering data in
Anagraphics when the latter is protected.
The temporary codes are used for entering data relative to UNCODED customers in Anagraphics and
are useful for filling out Delivery notes.
These same codes, with a special prefix and when Invoicing, make it possible to check for UNCODED
Customers to whom the appropriate procedures are to be applied.
10.17.6 Video
The "Window Size" section lets you set the dimensions of the programme’s main page:
o Maximum: the page adapts to the size of the screen
o Minimum: dimensions depend on the setup of the characters in the Windows screen properties.
Either 800x600 pixel (small characters) or 1024x768 pixel (big characters) will be set
o Customised: set the number of pixel (width x height)
The "Screen Layout" option lets you set the visualization layout of the main page.
Note: the programme has to be restarted to apply the above settings.
The "Color text" option enables in some pages (eg. Batch start) the visualization of text in different
colors according to scales/products groups.
The "Colors" section lets you set the colors of the main page; double-click on an item, then select the
wanted color with the mouse, or manually insert the RGB value.
The "Fonts" section lets you set the fonts used by the programme; double-click on an item, then set the
wanted font. The "Var" column enables the automatic resize of fonts according to the main page’s
dimensions.
The "Default Values" button can be used to restore default settings of colors and fonts.
11 APPENDIX A - GENERAL CONSTANTS
11.1 CEMENT/AGGREGATE SYNCHRONOUS DISCHARGE DELTA

This allows (if higher than 0) synchronisation of the cement scale discharge with that of the aggregates.
If the cement scale empties too quickly in relation to the aggregate scale, the unloading valve is closed
until a correct ratio between them is restored.
The value set indicates the maximum acceptable discharge difference in relation to the weighed
aggregate/cement ratio.
11.2 WATER/AGGREGATE SYNCHRONOUS DISCHARGE DELTA

This allows (if higher than 0) synchronisation of the water scale discharge to that of the aggregates. If
the water scale empties too quickly in relation to that of the aggregates, the discharge valve is closed
until a correct ratio between them is restored.
The set value indicates the maximum acceptable discharge difference in relation to the weighed
aggregate/water ratio.
11.3 FIRST AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the first aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence of that material.
Select a number from 1 to 6 (system configuration : NUMBER OF AGGREGATES).
NOTE: to optimise the batching cycle, the first extractor should be one of those fitted with a probe for
measuring the moisture content.
11.4 SECOND AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the second aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence of that material.
11.5 THIRD AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the third aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence.
11.6 FOURTH AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the fourth aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence.
11.7 FIFTH AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the fifth aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence.
11.8 SIXTH AGGREGATE EXTRACTION

This indicates the sixth aggregates hopper of the extraction sequence.
11.9 MANUAL DATA FILTERING TIME

During a manual batching cycle, this establishes the standby time required for the scale readout to
settle. If the setting is too short (it is generally around 3 seconds), you could risk the quantity of material,
which is falling onto the scale (in flight condition) not being added to the net weight readout of each
component.
11.10 HOPPER VIBRATOR ON/OFF TIME

This establishes the on and off times of the vibrator (= sprinkler) in the hopper, i.e. the sprinkle pipe will
vibrate for the lapse of time established by this parameter. The lapse of time running between one
vibration and the next is the same.
11.11 RECYCLED WATER

This establishes the quantity of recycled water (it is a % value out of the total amount of water to batch),
which should be batched, on condition that the system is operating on a two water basis.
Important: if the system has been set up for operation with fresh water only, this parameter should be
zero.
11.12 ADDITIVE 1 DISCHARGE STOP

During the additives discharge session, this setting establishes the value at which discharge can be
considered as accomplished (in other words it is the tare value of the scale) for additive 1.
11.13 MIXER WATER DISCHARGE START

When the mixer is active, this setting establishes for how long water discharge is delayed.
NOTE: this parameter does not apply when you have selected a "discharge sequence"; in this event,
the discharge delay of each component is established by this function.
11.14 SET FOR AGGREGATE MOISTURE TEST

This is used when the moisture probes are mounted directly on the scales. It determines the amount of
aggregates, which should be extracted before the moisture is read .
Note: One unit is 10Kg, unless the bit "FOUR DIGITS AGGREGATES" is set: in that case 1=1Kg.
11.15 MOISTURE PROBE 1 TO AGGREGATE

This allows probe 1 of the first moisture reading instrument to be allocated to an aggregates hopper, in
other words this setting identifies the aggregates hopper where the probe is actually mounted.
Important : the probes must always be allocated to the aggregates silos on an increasing number basis;
for instance, if the probes are fitted in silos 2, 3 and 5, moisture probe 1 will be allocated to aggregate
silo 2, probe 2 to aggregate silo 3 and probe 3 to aggregate silo 5.


11.18 ADDITIVE 1 TIME/PULSES CALIBRATION FACTOR

This determines the measuring signal for additives batching.
If additives are batched by time, this value is determined empirically and strictly relates to the diameter
of the pipe, which supplies the additive, and to the flow rate of the pump. In the event that the actual
quantity of product does not correspond to the readout, carry out tests and make the necessary
adjustments.
If additives are batched by pulses, this value is determined by the features of the pulse-emitting
instrument and by the counting down of the additives. For example, if the pulse emitter generates a
pulse every decilitre and the additives are counted down in litres, you will have to type 10, i.e. ten pulses
correspond to one litre of additive batched.
11.19 ADDITIVE 2 TIME/PULSES CALIBRATION FACTOR

This determines the measuring signal for additives batching.
If additives are batched by time, this value is determined empirically and strictly relates to the diameter
of the pipe, which supplies the additive, and to the flow rate of the pump. In the event that the actual
quantity of product does not correspond to the readout, carry out tests and make the necessary
adjustments.
If additives are batched by pulses, this value is determined by the features of the pulse-emitting

11.20 FIXED OPEN/CLOSE

It establishes how many kilograms before the established set point, the fixed open/close stage
begins(see Products Parameters).
11.21 OPEN/CLOSE ADDING TIME ON TO OFF

This is the value added to the outlet opening time during the open/close phase in order to define the
outlet closed time and the pause between one open/close cycle and the next. As a rule, outlet opening
and closing times should be the same. However, the pressure of the material batched tends to slow
down closing; therefore you are recommended to set at least 2 or 3 tenths of a second in this
parameter.
11.22 INITIAL WATER

This is the quantity of water to batch before any of the components is discharged into the concrete
mixer.
NOTE : as the initial quantity of water is established by the formula, it is highly recommended to set zero
here.
11.23 AGGREGATES PRE-LOAD EMPTYING TIME

When an aggregate "pre-load" has been provided, this parameter establishes the time the pre-load
needs to be emptied.
Important : aggregates pre-loads are emptied exclusively on a time basis; there are no relating electric
material sensing elements, therefore it is extremely important to check the time the pre-load needs to be
fully emptied and increase this time by a few seconds.
11.24 DISCHARGE BELT ALARM TIME

If this lapse of time, running from the moment in which you activate the aggregates discharge belt start
contactor to the moment in which the discharge belt running signal should be given, elapses without this
signal being given, an alarm is triggered.
11.25 DISCHARGE SCREW ALARM TIME

If this lapse of time, running from the moment in which you activate the cement discharge screw start
contactor to the moment in which the discharge screw running signal should be given, elapses without
this signal being given, an alarm is triggered.
11.26 AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CORRECTION PARAMETER

This identifies a "flight" correction ratio for the individual products. If other than zero, the variation from
the set point is calculated at the end of each product batching session. The set percentage of this value
will correct the "flight".
Important : the system currently utilises the open/close principle to reach the requested accuracy. The
use of this function is therefore inadvisable. During batching cycles, it may lead to errors which can only
be compensated for after a certain number of cycles and could therefore compromise batching
optimisation.
11.27 LAST AGGREGATE WITH MOISTURE PROBE

This indicates the last aggregate controlled by a moisture probe. After this aggregate, water batching
can be accomplished with the set points already compensated. If you type 3, the first three aggregates
hoppers will be controlled by the moisture probes, as established by the extraction sequence (constants
7 - 12), after third aggregate batching, water batching begins.
11.28 TOTAL MIXER OPENING TIME

This establishes for how long the mixer outlet should stay open and engage the fully open limit switch,
after the discharge time has elapsed, in order for the mixer to be fully emptied.
11.29 SPRINKLE PIPE WASHING WATER

This is the quantity of water which is held back during batching so that it can be used to clean the
sprinkle pipe from any build-ups of cement which could in the long run cause encrustation and clogging.
NOTE : this option is active when discharge is effected directly into the concrete mixer. This option is
disabled in the event that a mixer is used.
11.30 FIRST CEMENT TO EXTRACT

This indicates the first cement silo activated of the extraction sequence
Please insert a number between 1 and 3 (see NUMBER OF CEMENTS parameter).
11.31 SECOND CEMENT TO EXTRACT

This indicates the second cement silo activated of the extraction sequence
11.32 THIRD CEMENT TO EXTRACT

This indicates the third cement silo activated of the extraction sequence.
11.33 EXCL.MIXER PRESSURE / MOUTH CLOSED DELAY

This option is active when the mixer is used. It establishes a lapse of time, after which an alarm is
triggered and the open/close controls of the mixer outlet are deactivated. This setting is useful if
excessive pressure, owing to a mechanical problem of the outlet or to clogging, is measured, to prevent
damage.
If the pressure switch is not installed, this parameter defines the "mixer mouth closed" delay.
11.34 LACK OF DISCHARGE SIGNAL ALARM TIME

This establishes the maximum time allowed to reach the discharge condition for initial water or batched
components.
If water is batched by pulses, after the aggregates moisture compensation readouts have been made
and the first water batching cycle has been enabled, this is the time allowed for the OK DISCHARGE
signal to be given. Should this time elapse without the signal being given, an alarm is triggered.
If the first percentage of water has not been discharged, but the components have been batched, this is
the time allowed for the OK DISCHARGE signal to be given. Should this time elapse without the signal
being given, an alarm is triggered.
11.35 END DISCHARGE ACCEPTING TIME

If the external buttons have been enabled, the operator can activate the "Cycle End" (therefore allowing
the relevant data to be stored and printed) by means of the button on the keyboard or the driver by
means of the button with light located near to the loading station (if provided for). If this command is not
given within the time established by this setting, an alarm signal will be given.
N.B. : with this function enabled, it is possible to add water manually after all the components have been
batched and record the water addition in the cycle end report.
11.36 CEMENT BATCHING ENABLE TIME

This establishes how much time should pass since the cement aspirator/filter is stopped to start the
batching cycle.
This lapse of time prevents cement batching from being started when the aspirator is still running idle
and material that should not be from being drawn out.
11.37 BATCHING START DELAY AFTER SHARED SCALE END

Significant only in case of double plant when there is only one aggregate scale.
The plant that starts the aggregate batching "books" the scale and informs the other plant about this
situation by exchange of PLC inlets/outlets; the other system waits for the scale release (discharge
end).
At this moment the waiting plant can book the scale and start the batching.
The time here set out represents a delay (in tenths of a second) between the free scale signal and the
batching start.
When batching more than one sub-cycle, this parameter must be set to less than one second if the
waiting plant should start batching at the end of the single sub-cycle; otherwise the waiting plant starts
batching at the end of the last sub-cycle.
11.38 LAST CEMENT SCALE VIBRATION TIME

This establishes how long the last cement scale vibration should last. The setting is counted from the
moment in which the scale is in tare condition in order to empty it completely.
11.39 AGGREGATE 1 SECOND OUTLET STOP WEIGHT

By setting a value other than zero, the closing of the second outlet (fast batching) of aggregate 1 is
forced as soon as the set point minus the value set here is reached.
Example : Aggregate 1 setting = 1200
Aggregate 1 second outlet stop = 120
in these conditions, the closing of the fast batching outlet of aggregate 1 takes place when :
Net weight of aggregate 1 measured = 1080






11.45 MOISTURE READING FILTER

This establishes the time after which the moisture readout of the probes can be stored.
If the probes are positioned in the hoppers, this time is counted from the moment in which the extractor
is started; if the probes are in the scale, the setting is counted from the moment in which the moisture
control threshold is reached, as established by parameter 18.
11.46 FINAL AGGREGATES AMOUNT

This establishes the quantity of aggregates, which you need to discharge into the mixertruck after all
components have been batched.
This setting enables the discharge hopper to be cleared out.
11.47 CEMENT SCALE EMPTYING TIME

Once the cement scale "tare" value has been reached, this lapse of time should elapse before the
cement scale can actually be considered in tare condition. Actual emptying time will therefore begin
after this time has elapsed.
NOTE: by setting any number other than zero, the cement scale can be fully emptied. This setting will
lengthen the cycle time; therefore it is important to adjust the setting in order to compensate for this
inconvenience as far as is practicable
11.48 SKIP POSITION TIME / OPENING PRE-CHARGE

This identifies the maximum time the skip can take to move from its lowered to its raised position or vice
versa, or to its intermediate position during the upstroke. If the skip does not engage one of the limit
switches within this time, an alarm is triggered.
If there is an aggregate pre-load instead of the skip, this parameter identifies the maximum time allowed
for the pre-load discharge valve to accomplish an opening or a closing movement.
11.49 MIXER STOPPING TIME

This establishes the time the mixer will run after the last discharge. If this time passes, after the batching
cycle has ended and the relevant material has been discharged from the mixer, and no further batching
cycle is started, the mixer will stop, at least as far as the automatic cycle is concerned. In manual mode,
the operator should stop the mixer using the stop button.
NOTE: unlike the other time parameters, this is set in minutes
11.50 MIXER PARTIAL OPENING TIME

This establishes how long the mixer opening command should last during discharge, i.e. after the mixing
stage has ended.
This allows for the mixer outlet to be half opened, in order to prevent obstructions, which could
otherwise occur if the mixer outlet was fully opened.
NOTE: as this setting is established empirically, first of all it is necessary to check how long the outlet
takes to open completely when the mixer is empty, in order to obtain the requested partial opening
setting.
Important : reducing this value, reduces the discharge rate of the outlets and therefore lengthens the
discharge cycle. You may have to set longer discharge times in your formula. The same applies for the
opposite case.
11.51 MIXER MANUAL EMPTYING TIME

During manual operation, this parameter establishes for how long the mixer should be engaging the fully
open limit switch in order for it to be considered empty.
11.52 MIXER LUBRICATION TIME

This determines after how much mixer operating time (in minutes) a lubrication cycle has to happen.
This is active only if the mixer automatic greasing function is present.
Example: with a value of 30, after every 30 minutes of continuous mixer operation a lubrication cycle will
be automatically started.
NOTE: Set out this value according to what indicated by the mixer manufacturer.
11.53 MIXER LUBRICATION ALARM TIME

This determines after how many seconds of operation the lubrication time out alarm has to be generated
in absence of the mixer lubrication end limit switch signal.
This is active only if the mixer automatic greasing function is present.
11.54 NUMBER OF LUBRICATION CYCLES

This shows how many repetitions of the mixer lubrication cycle have to be effected every time that a
lubrication request is activated.
11.55 DISCHARGE VALVES ALARM TIME

If this lapse of time, running from the moment in which a scale discharge valve is activated, elapses
without the discharge valve running signal being given, an alarm is triggered.
11.56 MIXER MOUTH OPENING ALARM TIME

The maximum allowed time for mixer mouth opening.
11.57 MIXER MOUTH CLOSING ALARM TIME

The maximum allowed time for mixer mouth closing.
11.58 AGGREGATES SCALE EMPTYING TIME

Once the aggregates scale "tare" value has been reached, this lapse of time should pass before the tare
state can be confirmed and the extractor belts stopped. This setting allows the scale to be emptied more
effectively.
11.59 EXTRACTOR BELTS ALARM DELAY

With this parameter you set the maximum time that must elapse from when the command is given to
start the extractor belts without the belts actually being started. Since it is possible to stop the belts
when they are discharging, this alarm notifies the operator that there are belts that have stopped and
that discharging cannot be completed.
11.60 AGGREGATE DISCHARGE HATCH ALARM DELAY

This parameter determines the maximum delay between the aggregate hatch movement command and
the hatch actually starting to move.
11.61 CEMENT FILTER DISCHARGE OPENING DELAY

On condition that the cement filter is fitted, this parameter establishes the lapse of time after which the
discharge valve of the filter is opened during discharge of cement into the relevant scale
11.62 CEMENT FILTER DISCHARGE CLOSING DELAY

On condition that the cement filter is fitted, this parameter establishes for how long the discharge valve
of the filter should stay open to allow all the cement which has built up inside the filter to be discharged
into the scale. By doing so, you can recycle the cement dusts which were drawn into the filter during the
previous cycle.
NOTE: if this parameter is shorter than the actual time requested to discharge the dusts, the filter could
in the long run get obstructed and cause malfunctioning during operation.
11.63 ADDITIVE 2 DISCHARGE STOP

During the additives discharge session, this setting establishes the value at which discharge can be
considered as accomplished (in other words it is the tare value of the scale) for additive 2.
11.64 FILTER ASPIRATOR STOP TIME

This establishes the time after which the cement dust aspirator will be halted.
The aspirator starts when the cement scale discharge cycle begins and stops after this time has
elapsed.
11.65 ADDITIONAL EXTRACTOR BELT DELAY

It indicates an additional delay time for starting the extractor belt, after the time set in constant 109 .
11.66 EXTRACTOR BELT DELAY AFTER INCLINED BELT

It indicates the delay time for starting the extractor belt, after the inclined belt has started.
11.67 TRUCK DEFAULT DISCHARGE SEQUENCE

This identifies the choice of the "default" discharge sequence (see "discharge sequence") when the mix
is being discharged directly into the truckmixer. In other words, if the parameters of the formula handled
are not set, you can choose one of the 10 available discharge sequences (0-9). If the formula
parameters contain a value other than zero, this constant will have no effect on the choice of the type of
discharge.
11.68 MIXER DEFAULT DISCHARGE SEQUENCE

This identifies the choice of the "default" discharge sequence (see "discharge sequence ") when the
mix is being discharged directly into the mixer. In other words, if the parameters of the formula handled
are not set, you can choose one of the 10 available discharge sequences (0-9). If the formula
parameters contain a value other than zero, this constant will have no effect on the choice of the type of
discharge.
12 APPENDIX B - ALARMS
12.1 AGGREGATE SCALE OVERFLOW

cause = during an aggregates batching cycle, the value read by the scale exceeds the Full Scale
(F.S.), which is one of the scale parameters. Automatic batching cannot be continued as the value read
by the scales is unreliable. The scale may be blocked.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching cannot be continued.
1 Make sure the full-scale parameter is correct. If it is not, set the new value and reset the alarm.
The cycle will restart automatically.
2 Switch the system to manual and complete the operations underway. When this has been done,
switch the system to automatic and reset the alarm.
12.2 TOO MUCH AGGREGATE REQUESTED

cause = when an aggregates batching cycle is started, the quantity of material to batch is recalculated
on the basis of the moisture values of the previous cycle. This operation results in a value exceeding the

12.3 AGGREGATE OUT OF TOLERANCE RANGE

cause = during extraction of the aggregates from the hopper, the net value of this component is higher
than the set point plus the tolerance setting or lower than the set point minus the tolerance setting.
remedy = in these conditions automatic extraction is halted and the operator's intervention is requested.
1 Check how much the value deviates from the set point. If the difference is acceptable and the
amount weighed falls within satisfactory batching standards, you may choose to accept the
tolerance error and batching can continue in automatic mode.
2 If the tolerance error compromises the quality of the final product, switch the system to manual
and complete the operations underway. Reset the alarm.
12.4 AGGREGATE SCALE WEIGHING ERROR

cause = extraction of the aggregates from the hopper or scale discharging are not completed within the
permissible time ranges of the scale parameters; this means that there is a cause external to the control
board preventing these operations from being accomplished in the set times.
remedy = in this condition automatic batching will continue without stopping.
1 Make sure the scale parameters settings are sufficient to allow the loading/discharging
operations to be completed.
2 Make sure that the hopper from which aggregates are extracted is not empty
3 Make sure that there are no obstructions preventing aggregates extraction (possible
obstructions).
4 Ensure that the scale is in tare condition. If it is not, make sure the "aggregates scale tare" is not
too small. If necessary, increase it.
5 Make sure that no material has been left inside the scale after the discharge operations have
ended.
12.5 CEMENT SCALE OVERFLOW

cause = during a cement batching cycle, the value read by the scale exceeds the Full Scale (F.S.),
which is one of the scale parameters , so automatic batching cannot be continued as the value read by
the scales is unreliable or the scale may be blocked.
12.6 TOO MUCH CEMENT REQUESTED

cause = when a cement batching cycle is started, the quantity of material to batch is recalculated on the
basis of the set points. This operation results in a value exceeding the Full Scale (F.S.) parameter set in
scale parameters. Automatic batching may no longer be accomplished, as the maximum value of the
scale would be exceeded.
12.7 CEMENT OUT OF TOLERANCE RANGE

cause = during extraction of the cement from the silo, the net value of this component is higher than the
set point plus the tolerance setting or lower than the set point minus the tolerance setting.
remedy = in these conditions automatic extraction is halted and the operator's intervention is requested.
12.8 CEMENT SCALE WEIGHING ERROR

cause = extraction of the cement from the silo or scale discharging are not completed within the
permissible time ranges set in scale parameters ; this means that there is a cause external to the control
board preventing these operations from being accomplished in the set times.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching will continue without stopping.

2 Make sure that the silo from which cement is extracted is not empty.
3 Make sure that there are no obstructions preventing cement extraction.
4 Ensure that the scale is in tare condition during discharge operation. If it is not, make sure the
"cement scale tare" is not too small. If necessary, increase it.
5 Make sure that no material has been held inside the scale after the discharge operations have
ended.
12.9 TOO MUCH WATER REQUESTED

cause = during a water batching cycle, the value read by the scale or recorded by the pulse emitter
exceeds the Full Scale (F.S.), which is set in scale parameters, automatic batching cannot be continued
as the value read by the scales is unreliable, or the scale may be blocked.
12.10 WATER WEIGHING ERROR

cause = water batching or scale discharging are not completed within the permissible time ranges of the
scale parameters; this means that there is a cause external to the control board preventing these
operations from being accomplished in the set times.
1 Make sure the scale parameter settings are sufficient to allow the loading/discharging operations
to be completed.
2 Make sure that the container from which water is extracted is not empty.
3 Make sure that there are no obstructions preventing water extraction.

12.11 CEMENT VALVE OUT OF PLACE

cause = the discharge valve of the cement scale is not correctly positioned. This could mean that during
a closing command the closed limit switch has not been engaged, or the open limit switch during an
opening command.
remedy = in this condition, cement batching cannot be continued.
1 Check whether the closed limit switch is working correctly: when the valve actually closes, the
valve illustration on the PC monitor should not be coloured. It is also wise to check whether the
relevant PLC input is active.
12.12 NO ADDITIVE
cause = on condition that additives are batched by pulses, this alarm is triggered to signal that during
the loading stage no pulses emitted by the pulse emitter are being read.
remedy = in this condition, additive batching is not completed.
1 Make sure the additive tank is not empty.
2 Ensure that the pulse counter is working regularly.
12.13 TOO MUCH ADDITIVE REQUESTED

cause = when an additive batching cycle is started, the quantity of material to batch is recalculated on
the basis of the values of each additive. If this operation results in a value exceeding the Full Scale
(F.S.) parameter set in scale parameters, the additive batching may no longer be accomplished.
12.14 ADDITIVE OUT OF TOLERANCE RANGE

opening command, or the limit switch reading is not correct.
remedy = in this condition, water batching cannot be continued.

12.18 AUTOMATIC WATER CYCLE UNDERWAY

cause = you have attempted to give a water batching start command, during the automatic batching
cycle, via the PC.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching may be continued.
1 Reset the alarm and wait for the automatic water batching cycle to end before giving the water
batching command from the PC.
12.19 ANALOGUE MODULE ERROR

cause = the analogue module of the PLC reading the signals coming from the scales is blocked.
remedy = in this condition, the scale signals cannot be read.
1 Reset the alarm.
2 If alarm condition remains, disconnect the switchboard from the mains, wait a few seconds then
turn it on again. Now reset the alarm.
3 If the alarm condition still remains, call Elettrondata.
12.20 DATA UPDATING IMPOSSIBLE

cause = communication between the PC and PLC is not carried out correctly or cannot take place, in
other words the PC has not managed to receive information about a batching cycle end.
remedy = in this condition, a new batching cycle cannot be started and the relevant data recorded.
1 Check whether the cables are plugged in.
2 Make sure the PLC is working (the RUN led on, all error leds are off).
3 Reset the alarm.
4 If the alarm condition still remains, call Elettrondata.
12.21 THERMAL TRIP

cause = one of the motor overload cutouts inside the switchboard has tripped.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching can continue without stopping.
1 Disconnect the switchboard from the mains.
2 Open up the switchboard and reset the cutout.
3 Power the switchboard.
4 Reset the alarms
Note: if this alarm occurs too often, have the motor's power draw checked by your electrician.
12.22 ONE OR MORE SCALES ARE OUT OF TARE

cause = the cycle has been started with one or more scales out of tare.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching cannot be started.
1 Check which scales are out of tare and empty them in manual mode.
2 Reset the alarm.
12.23 BELT EMERGENCY

cause = one of the belt's emergency pullcords has been activated.
remedy =in this condition, all discharge operations are interrupted.
1 Release the engaged micro.
2 Reset the alarm.
12.24 CEMENT 1 MINIMUM LEVEL

cause = cement silo number 1 has reached its minimum level.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching may be continued without stopping.
1 Reset the alarm.
2 Fill the cement silo 1 as soon as possible (as established by the plant operator).

seconds, as the sprinkle pipe may unclog itself).

12.30 PLC MEMORY BATTERY DISCHARGED

cause = the battery of the PLC is running out.
remedy = in this condition all parts operate correctly.
1 Contact Elettrondata for a new battery or an OMRON supplier and replace it.
2 Reset the alarm.
The battery must be replaced with the switchboard powered!!!
12.31 TRUCK DISCHARGE GO-AHEAD SIGNAL

cause =
1 the initial water cannot be discharged, even if the components have not been batched, because
the operator has not given the discharge go-ahead command.
2 the batched components cannot be discharged because the operator has not given the
discharge go-ahead command.
remedy = in this condition, the components discharge is interrupted.
1 Press the OK DISCHARGE button with DISCHARGE CONSENT selector enabled, or enable
discharge from the PC.

12.32 MIXER CAPACITY OVERFLOW

cause = the cycle has been started with a quantity of material which exceeds the overall capacity of the
mixer.

12.33 AGGREGATES PRE-LOAD VALVE OUT OF PLACE

cause = the discharge valve of the aggregates pre-load is not correctly positioned. This could mean that

an opening command, or the limit switch reading is not correct, or both/or none limit switches are
actives.
remedy = in this condition, aggregates batching cannot be continued.
1 Check whether the closed limit switch is working correctly: when the valve actually closes, the

cause = the outlet of the mixer is not positioned correctly, in other words the open limit switch has not
been engaged as a result of an opening command.
If this alarm is triggered with the "mixer outlets not closed " alarm, neither the open nor the close limit
switches are active, or they are both active.
remedy = in this condition, the mixer cannot be discharged.
1 Make sure the open limit switch is working, i.e. the PLC input should be active when the outlet is
open.
12.35 MIXER OUTLETS NOT CLOSED

cause = the outlet of the mixer is not positioned correctly, in other words the open limit switch has not
been engaged as a result of an opening command.
If this alarm is triggered with the "mixer outlets not open " alarm, neither the open nor the close limit
switches are active, or they are both active.
remedy = in this condition, the mixer cannot be discharged.
1 Make sure the open limit switch is working, i.e. the PLC input should be active when the outlet is
open.
12.36 MIXER HALTED

cause = an automatic cycle has been started with the mixer halted or the mixer has been stopped
during an automatic cycle.
remedy = in this condition, the material cannot be discharged into the mixer
1 Start the mixer.
2 Reset the alarm.
12.37 MIXER / TRUCK DEVIATOR FAULT

cause = the mixer - truck mixer deviator is not in the position requested to accomplish the cycle which
has been started. In other words, if a mixer cycle has been started, the deviator is not engaging the limit
switch, which identifies the position of the outlet on the mixer, or in the event that a direct truck mixer
cycle has been started, the deviator is not in the position for direct truck mixer loading. Both limit
switches may be engaged or disengaged.
remedy = in this condition, no kind of discharge is enabled.
1 Make sure the by-pass valve of the deviator is working, i.e. it is shifting the deviator to its correct
position.
2 Make sure the deviator is in the right position to accomplish the requested operation.
3 Make sure the limit switch signals are reaching the PLC input module correctly, or the module
directly or look at the display of the PC checking the truck-mixer position. (main page).
4 Reset the alarm.
12.38 MAXIMUM LEVEL OF ADDITIVE 1

cause = additive 1 has reached its maximum level, triggered an alarm and disabled further loading.
remedy = in this condition, automatic additive loading is stopped.
1 Make sure the value read on the PC corresponds to the quantity indicated on the additives
container (at least as far as Elettrondata containers are concerned). If these quantities do not
match, check the calibration of the container; if on the contrary, the quantities are the same,
check the maximum additive 1 level setting.
2 Check why the container was filled to its maximum level (a failure to record the analogue value,
for instance).
3 Make sure the quantity requested is lower than the maximum level loadable of the additive
selected.
4 Reset the alarm.
12.39 MAXIMUM LEVEL OF ADDITIVE 2

cause = additive 2 has reached its maximum level, triggered an alarm and disabled further loading.
remedy = in this condition, automatic additive loading is stopped.
1 Make sure the value read on the PC corresponds to the quantity indicated on the additives
container (at least as far as Elettrondata containers are concerned). If these quantities do not
match, check the calibration of the container; if on the contrary, the quantities are the same,
check the maximum additive 2 level setting.
2 Check why the container was filled to its maximum level (a failure to record the analogue value,
for instance).
3 Make sure the quantity requested is lower than the maximum level loadable of the additive
selected.
4 Reset the alarm.
12.40 MOISTURE PROBE OUT OF TOLERANCE

cause = the difference between the current moisture readout and the previous one is higher than the
permissible difference established in the Additional formula data of the batching page.
This situation may occur during the first cycles accomplished after a spell of rainy weather or when new
material is batched. In these cases, it is quite normal. If it happens in any other cases, carry out the
following checks:
1 probe in the hopper: check whether the probe is "covered" , i.e. there is enough material
around the probe to enable a readout.
2 probe in the scale: check whether the probe is "covered", i.e. ensure that the probe
engagement value set is sufficient to allow for the probe to be actually "covered"; otherwise the
probe will take its readings with too little material or no material at all and provide unreliable
information.
remedy = in this condition, automatic aggregates loading stops and an operator's command is
requested.
1 Ensure that the value set in Additional formula data is a number other than zero (it generally
ranges between 200, i.e. 2.00 %, and 300, i.e. 3.00%).
2 Make sure the moisture readout filter time is a number other than zero, generally around 20
(=2.0 seconds) or 30 (=3.0 seconds).
3 Check whether the difference between the two values can be accepted.
4 If the difference is acceptable, quit the Additional formula data and accept the Aggregates
Tolerance; otherwise set the new moisture parameter, quit the page and accept the Aggregates
Tolerance.
12.41 MOISTURE PROBE ENGAGEMENT

cause = this alarm applies if the probes are located in the scales. It is triggered when the quantity
batched of an aggregate, which is automatically checked by a moisture probe, does not reach the
minimum probe engagement quantity. Therefore the moisture content of this weighout cannot be
measured
remedy = in this condition, automatic aggregates loading stops and an operator's command is
requested..
1 Select the page Additional formula data and make sure that the setting of the previous cycle
suits the current cycle. If not, enter the new moisture setting.
2 Quit the page Additional formula data and accept the Aggregates Tolerance.
12.42 NO VOLTAGE AT OUTPUTS

cause = the auxiliary circuits have been cut out, therefore all actuator controls are blocked.
remedy = in this condition, automatic batching conditions are maintained. They are "blocked"
1 A power failure has occurred and no power is being delivered to the switchboard; turn the
selector with key to activate the auxiliary circuits.
2 Make sure there are no emergency buttons activated within the system which prevent the
auxiliary circuits from being activated..
3 Activate the auxiliary circuits.
4 If they cannot be activated, locate the cause inside the switchboard.

5 Reset the alarm.
12.43 DATA ACQUISITION NEEDED

cause = at the end of a cycle (discharge included), the cycle end has not been confirmed either by the
driver by means of the external control panel ("loading completed" button) or by the operator from the
PC or the keyboard within the lapse of time established by parameter 50 of general constants
remedy = in these conditions automatic loading of the next cycle cannot be performed.
1 Accept the load.
2 Reset the alarm.
12.44 MIXER PRESSURE SWITCH

cause = the mixer pressure switch triggers as the discharge outlet closes. Slowing down could cause
this or a block of the outlet during closing caused by something that physically prevents closing or the
outlet closes and the sensor that detects the closed position malfunctions.
remedy = check correct operation of both the closed mixer outlet sensor and the outlet’s sensor, making
sure there is nothing physically preventing the outlet from closing. Reset the alarm.
12.45 ONE OR MORE ALARMS SILENCED

cause = the alarm has been reset but the causes triggering it have not been removed.
remedy = the siren will stop but automatic operation will be limited by the existing alarm conditions.
1 Check which alarms are silenced but still active and restore operating conditions
2 Reset the alarm.
12.46 PRINT DATA OVERFLOW

cause = during the manual operating mode a quantity of material has been batched, without having
executed any cycle end, that is so much that all the relevant data cannot be contained in the print buffer
(i.e. without making storage errors).
remedy = before filling the scales with a new manual load, carry out a cycle end in order to store and
print the data of all the manual operations performed after the last data printout.
12.47 MANUAL MIXER DISCH.UNFINISHED

cause = the mixer has been manually loaded without it being discharged, i.e. the mixer outlet has not
been kept open for the lapse of time established by parameter 84 of the general constants (= manual
mixer emptying time).
remedy = if you return to automatic operation in this condition, discharge into the mixer is disabled
because the mixer is full.
1 Select manual mixer discharge mode.
2 Open up the discharge outlet enough to empty it completely.
3 Select mixer automatic discharge mode.
4 Reset the alarm.
12.48 SKIP POSITION ALARM

cause = during the upstroke and the downstroke of the skip, the relevant limit switch is engaged (the top
one at the end of the upstroke or the bottom one at the end of the downstroke) irregularly.
remedy = in this condition, no automatic commands concerning the skip can be given.
1 If the skip was moving, this alarm means that it did not reach the requested position in the time
established by parameter 80 of the general constants.
2 If the skip was stationary, this alarm means that the limit switch did not read it. Check why the
limit switch did not record its presence.
3 If the skip is engaging both limit switches, check whether both relevant PLC inputs are active. If
this is the case, the faulty limit switch must be replaced.
4 Reset the alarm.
12.49 MIXER DISCHARGE GO-AHEAD SIGNAL

cause = the mixer has ended its mixing operations and should start discharging; however discharge has
not been activated either by the driver (if an external control panel for discharge enabling is provided) of
the truck mixer, or by the operator from the keyboard or the PC.
remedy = in this condition, automatic mixer discharge is not possible.
1 Enable discharge in either of the ways mentioned above.

12.50 MIXER LUBRICATION ALARM

cause = mixer lubrication has not been completed within the time set in "MIXER LUBRICATION ALARM

aggregates scale when there is no skip or aggregates pre-load.
13.2 % OF AGGREGATES DISCHARGE FOR CEMENT DISCHARGE

This parameter defines the percentage of aggregates that must be discharged from the scale before
cement discharge can be started. The percentage is calculated based on the quantity of material
extracted in that cycle, hence the % ratio is proportional to the footage requested each time.
13.3 DELAY TIME CEMENT DISCHARGE

This parameter is a length of time expressed in T.S. that delays cement discharge still further once the
"% OF AGGREGATES DISCHARGE FOR CEMENT DISCHARGE" has been discharged.

13.12 SKIP EMPTYING TIME

When an aggregate "pre-load" has been provided, this parameter establishes the time the pre-load
needs to be emptied; if this parameter is not set, the respective general constant is used.
13.13 DISCHARGE ADDITIVE 1 IMMEDIATE

This bit enables immediate discharge of additive 1, i.e., as soon as the additive scale has finished its
loading cycle (Cycle End on the scale) discharge of additive 1 starts.
NOTE: any other additives included in this formula will be discharged when their discharge conditions
are verified; when a loading cycle is carried out with mixer, it is advisable to set this bit OFF otherwise
the additive content will be discharged into the mixer when it is still empty.
13.14 DISCHARGE ADDITIVE 2 IMMEDIATE

This bit enables immediate discharge of additive 2, i.e., as soon as the additive scale has finished its
loading cycle (Cycle End on the scale) discharge of additive 2 starts.
NOTE: any other additives included in this formula will be discharged when their discharge conditions
are verified; when a loading cycle is carried out with mixer, it is advisable to set this bit OFF otherwise
the additive content will be discharged into the mixer when it is still empty.
13.15 WATER WITH LAST CYCLE

If this bit is enabled all the first water calculated on all the cubic metres in the formula at the beginning
can be discharged, so as to create a "reading" of the water in the mixertruck, as well as all the second
water, also calculated on all the cubic metres in the formula, with the last discharge.
NOTE: This function is only active if discharge is made directly into the mixertruck and there are several
sub cycles for the formula.
13.16 ADDITIVES WITH LAST CYCLE

If this bit is enabled it is possible to batch and discharge all the additives in the formula, calculated for all
the cubic metres let in with the last discharge.
NOTE: the total quantity of additive needed for the formula in progress is inside the tank provided that
the total quantity of additive to batch is less than the maximum permissible quantity for each additive.
14 APPENDIX D - SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
14.1 ENABLE MANUAL WATER BATCHING BY PULSES IN THE MIXER

If value 1 is typed in this constant it means that the control of a litre counter has been enabled for the
manual addition of water in the mixer.
This operating condition is controlled when the water batching system is up to the weight and when, of
course, such a system is provided.
14.2 MOISTURE PROBE READING TOLERANCE

This parameter, the same displayed on the "Additional formula data", page, indicates the maximum
difference between current moisture reading and the previous one, which is automatically accepted. If,
between the two readings (current and previous) the difference is greater than the value set in this
parameter, a "Moisture out of tolerance" alarm is triggered.
14.3 MAXIMUM LEVEL ADDITIVE 1

It establishes the maximum quantity of additive that additive 1 can hold when an additive pre-charge
system is used.
It is of extreme importance – to ensure correct batching – to set this parameter correctly, paying
particular attention to the unit of measure chosen for the additive.
For example:
- if the tank has a 60-litre capacity and the additives unit of measure is litres, we must type in 59 (L);
- if the tank has a 60-litre capacity and the additives unit of measure is decilitres, we must type in 590
(decilitres = 59.0 L);
- if the tank has a 60-litre capacity and the additives unit of measure is centilitres, we must type in 5900
(centilitres = 59.0 L).
14.4 MAXIMUM LEVEL ADDTIVE 2

It establishes the maximum quantity of additive that additive 2 can hold when an additive pre-charge
system is used.

14.5 NUMBER OF WATER LITRES PER PULSE

It indicates the number of water litres per counter pulse.
With a 1-pulse/1-litre counter we must type in 1, while with a 1-pulse/10-litres counter we must type in
10, etc.
14.6 NUMBER OF AGGREGATES

It indicates the number of aggregate (1-6) hoppers in the plant.
14.7 NUMBER OF CEMENTS

It indicates the number of cement silos (1-3) in the plant.
14.8 NUMBER OF WATER VALVES

It indicates the number of water valves in the plant.
If there is only one water and it is clean, this value must be set at 2 because clean water is always
managed like water 2.
14.9 NUMBER OF ADDITIVES

It indicates the number of additives (1-2) in the plant.
14.10 MAXIMUM MIXER CAPACITY

If a mixer is provided, it gives its maximum capacity in cubic metres.
If the mixer has a 2 cubic metre capacity, 200 must be set (2.00 cubic metres).
15 APPENDIX E - SYSTEM BITS
15.1 TRUCK DISCHARGE CONTINUOUS

It enables discharge of the weighed material directly into the mixertruck without the operator having to
enable discharge each time.
Warning: this bit renders good plant operation very dangerous and must never be enabled if the
mixertruck presence micro is not physically installed.
15.2 SIMULATION ENABLED

This bit enables the call for the simulation routine created for testing bench programmes.
IMPORTANT: always check that this bit is OFF on the plant, otherwise there will be uncontrollable
responses and functions that have nothing to do with the actual status of the plant’s inputs.
15.3 MIXER PRESSURE SWITCH

It enables the mixer outlets pressure switch.
The closing command ends not only with the outlet closed condition but also when the signal coming
from the pressure switch is read.
This guarantees tighter closing of the mixer.
If the pressure switch trips without having reached the ‘closed’ limit switch, an alarm is triggered that
disables the mixer outlet closing command.
15.4 GENERAL DISCHARGE AFTER FIRST WATER

It activates general discharge (of all the scales) only when batching of the first water is finished. It is
always important if you want to create a "bed" of water in the mixertruck.
15.5 PEPPER CONTACT

Pepper is enabled when this bit is active, i.e., when the plant is in the manual mode (commands from
the BP 201 keyboard) cement batching is possible for a maximum quantity equivalent to, and no more
than, the value set with the "Set" function in the Water/Cement menu.
15.6 NON-STOP VIBRATORS

It activates the non-stop operation of the hoppers and aggregates scale vibrators.
When this option is OFF the vibrators work in a Pause-Work way when, during the length of time set,
the requested quantity of material is not extracted (parameters to be set in the scale constants).
When this option is ON the vibrators activate simultaneously with the opening of the outlets and they
work non-stop.
15.7 CEMENT VALVE CLOSURE FREE

If active it releases closing management of the cement scale discharge valve from when the screw
stops.
With this function the valve can be closed, once the cement scale tare condition is reached, while the
screw still works to finish emptying. Under these conditions the cement batching cycle can start again,
gaining time on the cycle.
Naturally, activation of this bit is strongly advised against if batching is performed with the
DIFFERENCE CEMENT/AGGREGATES and if there is no need to carry out sub cycles very often, as is
the case when a mixer is used.
15.8 GENERAL DISCHARGE AFTER IMMEDIATE ADDITIVE

General discharge is activated (for all scales) only after all the additives configured as immediate have
been discharged.
It should only be activated if the "immediate" additive discharge function is foreseen.
15.9 MIXERTRUCK PRESENCE

This bit is set ON if there is a dry loading point in the plant.
NOTE: In plants with a mixertruck / mixer BY-PASS set this bit and the "Mixer Presence" bit ON.
15.10 ADDITIVES BY ELETTRONDATA

Set this value ON when "Elettrondata" type tanks are used, otherwise choose the appropriate setting
with bit 19 (Additives Batched by Time), bit 20 (Additives Batched by Pulses) or bit 21 (Additives
Batched by Weight).
NOTE: if additives 1 are present and only one of the bits, 18, 19, 20 or 21, set the value ON.
15.11 ADDITIVES BATCHED BY TIME

with bit 18 (Additives by Elettrondata), bit 20 (Additives Batched by Pulses) or bit 21 (Additives Batched
by Weight).
15.12 ADDITIVES BATCHED BY PULSES

with bit 18 (Additives by Elettrondata), bit 19 (Additives Batched by Time) or bit 21 (Additives Batched
by Weight).
15.13 ADDITIVES BATCHED BY WEIGHT

with bit 18 (Additives by Elettrondata), bit 19 (Additives Batched by Time) or bit 20 (Additives Batched
by Pulses).
15.14 MIXER PARTIAL OPENING

This bit enables partial opening of the mixer discharge outlet.
Partial opening allows us to determine the intermediate position, between the closed and completely
open position, when the material must be discharged until the mixer discharge time is reached (set in
the formula).
It is advisable to set this bit ON: this position, in fact, can be defined "physically" by a limit switch or
timed by means of the "PARTIAL MIXER OPENING TIME" constant.
15.15 AGGREGATES PRE-LOAD PRESENCE

This bit informs the system that there is an aggregates pre-load, therefore the relative control is
activated in the programme.
15.16 MOISTURE CORRECTION PROBES IN SCALES

If ON it indicates that the probes for detecting aggregates moisture are inside the scales.
In such a case, moisture is read only when the probe’s covering value is reached, set as the "Moisture
reading control threshold" in the moisture constants.
NOTE: with this bit ON, make sure that BIT 27 (Moisture correction probes in hopper) is OFF.
15.17 MOISTURE CORRECTION PROBES IN AGGREGATE HOPPER

If ON it indicates that the probes for detecting aggregates moisture are inside the hoppers.
In such a case, moisture is read only when the probe’s covering value is reached, set as the "Moisture
reading control threshold" in the moisture constants.
NOTE: with this bit ON, make sure that BIT 25 (Moisture correction probes in scales) is OFF.
15.18 ADDITIVE BATCHED WITH PRE-LOAD

Set this bit ON when either an "Elettrondata" type or "weight" type detection system is provided because
they are both fitted with a container that acts as a pre-load.
15.19 MIXER PRESENCE

Set this bit ON if there is at least one loading point with mixer in the plant.
NOTE: In plants with a mixertruck / mixer BY-PASS set this bit and the "Mixer Presence" bit ON.
15.20 FOUR DIGITS AGGREGATES

When the Full Scale of the aggregates scale is less than 10,000 Kg. it is advisable to set this bit ON to
achieve greater precision of the quantities batched.
Note: to ensure correct operation it is of paramount importance to set this bit appropriately.
15.21 WATER BY WEIGHT

By setting this bit ON the system is informed that water is batched by "weight", consequently all the data
necessary for the batching method chosen will be considered while the data relative to pulse batching
will be ignored.
15.22 CYCLE END BY OPERATOR

If this bit is active the cycle end data are not recorded automatically but on request of the operator (via
PC: Batching – Special Functions - End, or via the ED 262 keyboard), both automatically and manually,
to allow for any additions at the end of discharge.
Data can only be recorded if the plant is completely empty (scales in tare and, where provided, pre-load
empty and mixer empty).
NOTE: If OFF it enables ANTICIPATE CYCLE END with the mixer full.
15.23 INCLINED BELT CONTINUOS

Set OFF if the sub cycles are not used.
It enables the non-stop operation of the sloping belt that, in a sequence of sub cycles, remains in motion
until the last sub cycle has been emptied.
15.24 ENABLE COMPENSATION OF H2O WITH ABSORPTION

It enables aggregate moisture correction by considering also the absorption water of any aggregate.
This function is run by the PLC, wich notifies in batching cycle data if the batching has been run with:
o % absorption water considered in Moisture compensation
or
o % absorption water NOT considered in Moisture compensation

In addition, in batching cycle data is saved the % Moisture and % Absorption Water for any aggregate.
If this bit is enabled, it subtracts the water absorbed by the aggregates from the total quantity of water in
the calculation of the Water/Cement ratio.
15.25 TRUCK CLOGGING SENSOR EXCLUSION

If ON it turns the clogging probe of the discharge sprinkle pipe off, it does not trigger a clogging alarm
(that would immediately stop the discharge of all materials) and it does not turn the relative vibrator on
(if present).
15.26 SKIP PRESENCE

If this bit is ON the skip is engaged.
If no skip is provided, this bit must be OFF.
15.27 PRE-LOAD AGGREGATE WITH PNEUMATIC VALVE

It enables the management of an aggregate pre-charge with pneumatic valve.
15.28 INCLINED SCREW NOT PRESENT

Disables the management of the cement inclined screw.
15.29 INCLINED BELT NOT PRESENT

Disables the management of the inclined belt, usually used on the tower plant.
15.30 ENABLE WEIGHING SKIP

It enables weighing skip management.
15.31 WATER BATCHED ON CEMENT SCALE

If enabled, water is batched on cement scale.
15.32 AGGREGATE DISCHARGE HATCH ON MIXER

It enables the management of the aggregate discharge hatch on the mixer.
15.33 BY-PASS OUTPUTS ALWAYS ON

The by-pass control outputs work normally as bistable (configuration bit disabled) :
OUT ON Mixer direction -> Mixer side l.s. ON -> OUT OFF Mixer direction
OUT ON Truck direction -> Truck side l.s. ON -> OUT OFF Truck direction
If this configuration bit is enabled, the outputs will remain ON even after the respective limit switches
have been read:
OUT ON Mixer direction -> Mixer side l.s. ON -> OUT ON Mixer direction
OUT ON Truck direction -> Truck side l.s. ON -> OUT ON Truck direction
This bit is used when the bypass is controlled by two monostable solenoid valves, instead of a bistable
one.
15.34 AGGREGATE PRE-LOAD AS A BY-PASS

The aggregate pre-load has the additional function of a by-pass.
15.35 SHARED AGGREGATE SCALE

This shows that the aggregate scale is shared by two plants.
16 APPENDIX F - SETUP
16.1 Advanced Setups

This ENCLOSURE is only for use by personnel authorised by ElettronDATA S.r.l.. Any other use of this
section of the manual/in-line help is not allowed and therefore subject to the sanctions as provided for
by law.
NON CONFORMING USE OF THE DESCRIBED FUNCTIONS COULD CAUSE THE PLANT TO
MALFUNCTION WITH POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO PRODUCTION AND TO THE PLANT ITSELF.
Important: Each time data or parameters are altered, we suggest updating the Backup diskette so as to
always have an updated copy. This is especially useful when installing the programme of when there
are system failures.
16.2 Setup Menu
16.2.1 Setup Menu

On the main page, pressing keys ALT + F2 followed by "SHIFT + F2, a new menu appears at the top
right called SETUP which comprises the following functions:
o System Conf. : System Configuration Parameters
o System Bits : System Configuration Bits
o Alarms Setup : Setting Alarms Messages and Sounds
o System Setup : System Configuration Setup
o Manual Commands : Manual computer commands
o Timer : View and Edit Timer

16.2.2 System Configuration

This function is used to modify or display the definitions and the value of a set of data and parameters
that are used to configure the system.
For more information about the single parameters, double-click on the number of the parameter you are
interested in (see Appendix D).
To print a list of the parameters and their values press the print button.
16.2.3 System Bits

With this function it is possible to modify or display the definitions and the value of a set of bits that are
used to configure the system in order to define the best possible way of operation according to the
characteristics and functions required.
For more information about the single bits, double-click on the number of the bit you are interested in
(see Appendix E).
To print a list of the parameters and their values press the print button.
Any word can be looked for in the parameters descriptions with the search button; to repeat the search
press the F3 key.
16.2.4 Alarms Setup

With this function it is possible to modify or display the descriptions of the PLC controlled alarms.
With the "Sound" column it is possible to assign a sound (.WAV file) to the single alarms: click on the
cell and select a file. To cancel selection, press the "Delete row" button or position the cursor on the cell
and press the Backspace key.
The "Common sound prefix" parameter is used to set a sound that will precede the one associated to
each alarm.
For more information about the single alarms, double-click on the number of the alarm you are
interested in (see Appendix B).
Note: if the function is selected from the setup menu, the alarms descriptions are editable.

16.2.5 System Setup

With this function it is possible to modify a set of data and parameters that the PC uses to identify and
control the plant.
The following parameters can be setup:
o Anagraphics Management: it activates anagraphics management
o Orders Management: it enables Orders management
o Raw Materials: it activates management of the delivery note for raw materials (Incoming)
o Stock Management: it enables the stock menu for its management.
o Cycle Data Management : it enables display of Cycle Data from the Stock menu
o Start from Deliveries: if this option is enabled, a new batch can be started only from the delivery
management page; the Batch menu respective functions will be disabled.
o View Alarms on left: it enables the display of the active alarms window on the left of the screen
instead of on the right
o Edit Additives: on the Start page, before batching starts, it lets the operator alter the value of the
additives to batch.
o Print Water Error : it enables printing of the water batched error as a percentage in the cycle
end reports
o Demo (No Plc): it enables computer programme without PLC
o Company: it defines the name of the company that appears on the status bar and on the
printouts.
o Delivery Note Type:
o 0: del.note management not enabled
o 1: standard del.note
o 2: external management and manual insertion of del.note number
o 3: external management with batching start from file
o COM : it defines the serial port for communicating with the PLC. To manage more than one plant
set at 0 (zero): for each PLC the communication port will correspond to the relative plant (e.g.
plant 2 = COM2); for greater flexibility use the parameter Port1 in the bw.ini file.
o Speed: serial communication speed with PLC, set at 9600 or 19200. The PC will try anyway to
establish communication at 19200bps; if speed is set on this latter value and communication is
only possible at lower speeds a notification message will be displayed.
o Um.Scale: it sets the unit of measurements of the aggregates (1), cements (2), water (3) and
additives (4) scales.
o Max Log Dimensions (Kb): it indicates the maximum dimensions of the Log file (the LOG.TXT
file in the Data Folder) in Kbytes
o Show Unit of Measure: it allows display of the units of measurement on the scales
o Moisture Monitoring: it enables monitoring of the moisture values during sampling and their
storage at cycle end.
o Cement Screw: it enables the visualization of the cement screw
o Edit Set to Start: it allows modification of the batching set points obtained from the formula prior
to start.
o Decreasing Net Weight: during batching, it displays the net weights decreasing from the set
point value to zero.
o Set Nr.Cycles to Start: it allows to set the number of cycles at batching start
o Manual Water on Screen: it enables real-time display of the water manually added to
mixertruck.
o Multiple Delivery Start: it enables the execution of multiple copies of a delivery with the "Start
now" command (see Deliveries management)
o Print Software Version: enables program version printout in print headings
o Automatic Backup: it makes a backup copy of the data when exiting the programme.
o System sounds: it enables the use of system sounds with error or notification messages.
o Stock from Screen: when this function is enabled, by right-clicking on a silo on the screen you
access the relative stock.
o Login required to Start: if enabled, the programme can be used only after a successful operator
identification
o Subcycles with moisture: if enabled, before sending the formula to execute to the PLC, the
number of sub-cycles is re-computed according to last cycle’s moisture
o Suction intake, Filter discharge: it enables filters status visualization and related manual
commands
o Scales F.S. offset: this value is subtracted from the aggregates scale full scale when computing
sub-cycles; this parameter’s purpose is to avoid aggregate full scale overflow due to moisture or
batching errors with batchings close to scale capacity
o Plant capacity (m3): it indicates maximum plant capacity in m3. It is used to divide the batching
into the necessary sub cycles.
o Batch size (m3): it indicates the minimum and maximum quantities in m3 for a batch cycle.
o Nr. Max Deliveries: it sets the maximum number of Deliveries; when the deliveries in the archive
exceed this number, they are gradually eliminated starting from the oldest.
o Copy to Silo Name: when the operator sets a silo-product combination, the system automatically
sets the name of the relative silo.
o 0: Keep old name
o 1: Product Name
o 2: Product Code
o Formulas Order: it sets the predefined order on the formula selection page and the datum to
display in the relative column on the order management page.
o Customers Order: it sets the predefined order on the customer selection page and the datum to
display in the relative column on the order management page.
o Silo descriptions: it selects the silos description method.
o Data Folder: it lets you change the path of the Data Folder; all archives will be moved to the new
position.
o Backup Folder: this path will be proposed as default in the Backup and Restore operations and
will be used in the automatic backup.
o Data exchange folder: path for data exchange with Delivery Note Type = 3.
o Menu Definition: it lets you select an alternative file for the main menu definitions (predefined
value=BW.MNU)
o Message Definition: it lets you select an alternative file for the definitions of messages
(predefined value=BW.STR)
o Descriptions Definition: it lets you select an alternative path for the files that contain the
descriptions of the alarms, system configuration bits and parameters, discharge sequences,
general parameters and manual commands.
16.2.6 Manual Commands

Through this function it’s possible to visualize and know which Manual Commands are active, currently,
on the PLC.
16.2.7 Timer
With this function we can see and print data relative to:
o PLC version (settable in DM 1780 and DM 1781)
o installation date (settable in DM 1782 – day and month, and DM 1783 - year )
o Start up (settable in DM 1784 – day and month, and DM 1785 - year)
o M3 done (total cubic metres produced, display only)
o hours of work (display only)
16.2.8 Data Import

Pre-existing (BETONPLUS) data can be imported with this function.
With the "Importing Descriptions" option we can disable files from being imported that contain the
description of alarms, system configuration bits and parameters, discharge sequences, general
parameters, manual commands.
IMPORTANT: THE IMPORTING PROCEDURE CAUSES ANY EXISTING BETONWIN DATA TO BE

OVERWRITTEN !
16.2.9 Network Setup

With this function we can enable and set net services.
o Enable network services: once the data have been confirmed, net services are activated
o Enable at startup: net services will be activated automatically when the programme starts
o Access to remote files: select this option to access remote archives; the archives can be on a
Server pc or on any network folder, and are generally shared between workstations; press the
"Shared archives" button to select the archives to share
o Plant files folder: use this field only to gain direct access to the specific archives of a plant on a
remote pc (eg. remote assistance, remote control); it indicates the network path of the Data
Folder of the plant to connect to. This field is normally let empty.
o Common files folder: it indicates the network path of the archives to access; in the common
case of archives shared between workstations (eg. plants that share the same anagraphics)
this path must match the Data Folder of the plant used as a Server.
o User: user name to access remote files (if needed).
o Password: password to access remote files (if needed).
o Local address: it displays the IP address (or addresses) of the local pc
o Remote Address: the IP address or net identification name of the pc to connect to (only in case
of access to a remote PLC)
o Port: port on which to enable net services in case of PLC sharing; it will only have to be
modified if there is conflict with other applications and it must be the same on both the local and
remote pc.
o Test: to carry out a quick net functioning test; the net services must be activated on the remote
pc
o PLC Server: select on the pc directly connected to the PLC to enable sharing of the latter
o Access remote PLC: select on the network pc, not connected to the PLC, to access the PLC
Server
If it is impossible to access the remote files, it will be possible to enable net services without file access;
in this case you can access the remote PLC but not the archives, you will be able to see a remote
batching but not control batching start.
Once access to the remote PLC has been enabled, each operation will be executed on the Server pc
and on the relative PLC; in addition the Messages function can be accessed from the "Utility" menu.
NOTE: cycle end data and related updates (stock, consumptions, production totals) are always saved
on the pc phisically connected to the PLC (PLC Server); other PCs can access its archives via the
"Access to remote files" option.
16.2.10 Shared archives

When the net services are enabled with access to remote files, it is possible to select which archives to
share.
The "checked" archives will be stored in the folder set in Common files folder.
The archives that are not selected will be stored in the folder set in Plant files folder (if set) or in the local
Data Folder.
16.3 Configuration Files
16.3.1 Configuration Files

Some files are particularly important for configuring Computer functions.
