Kawhi Leonard Starts #Kawhiit Campaign, Giving Away Backpacks. With a Catch
Los Angeles, CA – The LA Clippers and All-Star Forward Kawhi Leonard will be giving away
over 1,500 backpacks at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles during the game against the
Denver Nuggets Feb. 29, 2020. This is the launch of the #Kawhiit campaign where fans in
attendance will receive a backpack, but with a catch.
LA Clippers and Kawhi Leonard are proud to launch the #Kawhiit campaign for the first time
this season to bring awareness to the community and giving back to it, no matter where you are.
The #Kawhiit campaign will be giving away backpacks to fans in attendance with a note inside
from Leonard. In this note he encourages fans to fill the backpack with food and water, along
with a blanket and give it back to someone in need of these necessities. Even fill it with books
for a child in need, as long as it goes back into the community with a purpose.
During the summer before the season started, Kawhi Leonard donated one million backpacks to
three different school districts including the Moreno Valley Unified School District in which he
attended as a child. Leonard made it a goal of his upon coming to the LA Clippers this summer
to give back to the community he grew up in.
“My goal this year is to make a meaningful contribution both on and off the court. This felt
like the right way to get started.”
The feeling of giving back to someone in need and giving back to the community is the goal for
fans to participate in this. Even if people were not able to attend the game, they are encouraged
by the team to #Kawhiit and fill their own bag and give it to someone in need. The idea to “pay it
forward.” Fans are encouraged to share their actions on social media using the hashtag #Kawhiit
and show the world how you can #Kawhiit.

In the midst of all the craziness, there is one thing that we can all
be thankful for, video games. At lease that is what can be said for All-Star Clippers Guard Paul
George. George has been making the most of his
time at home streaming popular video games like “Call of Duty” and “Fortnite”
to keep us updated on his life when he is not working out at home. These
5
streams give us a whole new take on George, one where we get to see that he is
just like the rest of us. Enjoying winning streaks on and off the court. Catch
George stream every Saturday on Twitch @Paulgeorge13.

With the 2019-2020 NBA season hanging in the balance, members of LA Clippers turn to
After looking to close out the 2020 season, the world is experiencing the COVID-19
pandemic and everything is called to a halt. Clippers’ players and Head Coach Doc Rivers keep
the basketball court. Beverly participated in a player only NBA2k20 tournament in which he
hounded his opponents, reminiscent of his lock-down defense. The tournament was streamed
on ESPN, but Beverly’s own stream on social media streaming platform Twitch, was where the
action was at. You can get the inside scoop of what he is thinking every play as well as a live
look at his movements on the controller so we can all learn to move like he does. Different
streams lead to different activities. Beverly keeps fans updated with posts on workouts and
quality time with family which we can all relate to. Follow Patrick Beverly on social media
@patbev21.

Not too far behind, power forward and teammate Montrezl Harrell also has a knack for
NBA2k20. He was also involved in the players only tournament advancing to the quarterfinals,
but like Beverly, you can see the same engine going as he has on the basketball court. It is a
refreshing take to see that our favorite players can still be competitive at activities we consider
normal like video games. Harrell’s live streams on Instagram are also a unique experience that
take us into a world we as fans wouldn’t have thought of seeing. Keep up with Montrezl
@MONSTATREZZ.
Switching gears, we turn to a player that is focused on a different art that is music.
Shooting Guard Lou Williams is a rapper when he’s not dropping 30 points a night on his
opponents. This quarantine has given Williams an excellent opportunity to dive into his music.
His twitter and Instagram posts are filled will snippets and features that make fans feel more at
ease of the idea of no basketball for the moment. Live streams on Instagram feature current
musical sensations as they share their insights on music that bring fans of both sports and music
together. Entertain yourself with Lou Williams by following him on Twitter and Instagram
@louwillville.
Going back to video games, no one on the LA Clippers is king of the games and
streaming as is Paul George. Widely known for his sensational dunks and jaw dropping handles,
George has been spending his time at home streaming the popular game “Call of Duty.” With
these streams on Twitch, George has gained a new following and new respect from fans as they
learn that their favorite player can be engaged right beside them without even noticing. Follow

Lastly, Head Coach Doc Rivers does not usually take to social media during the season,
but given the situation that we are in, Doc has found a new light on Instagram. His livestreams
are filled with memories and guests from when he played in the league. Legends like Isiah
Thomas and Michael Jordan have appeared on his streams to give insight on his memories with
them. It’s a fresh twist on basketball history that we think we know. Keep up with Doc
@docrivers.
If you miss LA Clippers basketball, you are not alone. Following these members of the
Clippers make you appreciate them as people and helps you with your Clippers fix.
