ARPIT -2020 EXAMINATION

GENERAL
Q. What is ARPIT?
A. The Ministry of Education(MoE) has officially launched online Annual Refresher Programme
in Teaching (ARPIT) on 13th November, 2018, initiative of Online Professional Development of
15 lakhs Higher Education Faculty using the MOOC’s* platform SWAYAM*. For
implementing ARPIT, 75 discipline-specific National Resource Centres (NRCs) were identified
in the year 2018 and 48 discipline-specific National Resource Centres (NRCs) in the year 2019,
which were tasked to prepare online training material with focus on latest developments in the
discipline, new & emerging trends, pedagogical improvements, and methodologies for
transacting revised curriculum. For ARPIT 2020, Ministry decided to re-run ARPIT 2019
courses in ARPIT 2020. The training materials is uploaded and made available through
SWAYAM. The ARPIT will revolutionize professional development of faculty by catering to
massive numbers by leveraging ICT and Online Technology platform of SWAYAM.
A. After completion of ARPIT- 2020 course, an online exam will be conducted. After successful
completion of ARPIT- 2020 Exam, the learner will be issued certificate of completion of course.
Successful completion of one ARPIT course with certificate will be equivalent to one refresher
course of UGC for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) as notified by the latest gazette of UGC

Note: Only those learners who has registered for ARPIT- 2020 courses and undertaken the
course will be eligible for ARPIT 2020 Exam.
A. Please note that learner would be able to appear in ARPIT-2020 Exam for only one course in
each slot i.e. learner can appear for a maximum of two exams spread across two slots. Those
learners who are doing multiple courses should ensure that the courses that they are choosing for
examination are in different slots.
Q. How can a candidate get registered with the NTA?
A. Step by step procedure for ARPIT Exam registration can be accessed at link –
https://arpit.nta.nic.in/ also read the instructions before filling up the form from the NTA
website.
A. Faculty Learner: The faculty has to upload the photograph, signature and the relevant proof
of being a faculty member like Faculty ID Proof/ Appointment Letter/Latest Pay slip/Promotion
Order.
Further, Candidate is advised to bring original documents (uploaded on registration form) along
with one photocopy at the exam centre for verification.
Non-Faculty Learner: The Non Faculty Learner has to upload the photograph, signature and the
proof / certificate of learner belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/ Women/Transgender/EWS issued
by competent authority (valid and non-expired), in case concession of fee is required.
Further, Candidate is advised to bring original of uploaded documents along with one
photocopy at the exam centre for verification.
Note: Besides above mentioned documents, faculty and non-faculty learners are required to
carry any one of original Photo Identification Card (valid and non-expired) viz. Voter
Identification Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport or Aadhaar Card / School or College
ID Card.
Q. How to select my choice of city for examination while filling-up of Online Registration
Application Form?
A. While filling the Online Registration Application Form, the list of choice of city for
examination will be available in the drop-down menu in the online form, the candidate can select
four city for examination in the order of preference from the list.

Q. What are the steps to be followed while filling up Online Registration Application
Form?
A. The requisite step by step procedure for filling Online Application is available on the Online
Portal www.arpit.nta.nic.in
A. Faculty Learner: In case of Faculty Learner, who are working in any of the Indian Higher
Educational Institutions, there won’t be any Examination Fee.
Non-Faculty Learner: The Examination Fee for Non-Faculty Learner for each course is Rs.
1000/-for General candidates and Rs. 500/-for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Women/Transgender/PwD
candidates with disability >=40%.
Note: Due care should be taken in choosing the option of Faculty and Non-Faculty learner
while filling registration form otherwise certificate will not be issued.
A. You will get confirmation page after completion and submission of your application. For
future reference please download, store and take a print out of the Confirmation page.
Q. If I missed the last date of registration, can I go for the same by paying some late fee or
penalty?
Q. If I miss the examination after registration for ARPIT -2020 Exam, when can I appear
next.
A. You can appear only in re-examination, dates of which will be intimated later through NTA-
ARPIT website.
Q. I am registered for one exam but I want to appear in another exam of another course
for which also I am registered?
A. Please note that learner would be able to choose only one course for ARPIT 2020 Exam in
each slot i.e. learner can appear for a maximum of two exams spread across two slots. Those
learners who are doing multiple courses should ensure that the courses that they are choosing for
examination are in different slots.
