POWER OPTIONS
You have either purchased a 110V AC only,
230V AC only, or a switchable 110V/230V
AC unit. These units are not interchangeable.
Please refer to the serial number tag on the
bottom of the unit for unit identification.
Please read instructions in this manual
regarding operation for these different types
of devices.

Battery Charging
& Maintenance
To properly charge the internal battery, giving it
the longest life possible, please read and follow
the directions below.

1 To charge the battery, connect the unit to


an external power source (either a 110V AC,
a 230V AC or a 12V DC external power
source). Set the power switch to the OFF
position. The OFF position is also the charg-
ing position. The power switch will not light
while the battery is charging.
2 To fully charge the battery, eight hours of
charging is necessary. However, if the user
does not have time to fully charge the
battery, the unit should still be charged as
long and as often as time permits. Full
discharge will shorten battery life. The
battery will not be damaged by overcharg-
ing.
3 It is not recommended for the battery to
stay discharged or unused for a long period
of time (60 days or more). Charge the
battery at least once every two months.

SUCTION JAR
The suction jar supplied with the VacuMax is
recommended for single patient use and should
be replaced as per physician order.
FUSE CHANGE
A 2A fuse is located on the back of the device.
It protects the device from power surges that
can occur in the home and from exposing this
device to a wrong power source. To replace the
fuse, unscrew the fuse holder on the back of
the device. Take out the old fuse, insert the
new fuse and screw the holder back on.

TUBING
1 Verify the device is turned OFF and allow
the suction to drop off.
2 Disconnect the tubing from the collection
jar and from the device.
3 Rinse the tubing thoroughly with three parts
hot tap water and one part vinegar.
4 Rinse the tubing with hot tap water and
allow it to air dry.
5 Reconnect the tubing between the
collection jar and the device.

Warranty Information
Medical Industries America Inc. warrants the
VacuMax portable aspirator to be free from
defective workmanship and materials for a
period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
The internal battery shall be warranted for a
period of 3 months from the date of purchase.
Check with your dealer for more details.
This warranty is limited to the original purchas-
er of the compressor. Any defective part or
assembly will be repaired or replaced, at the
sole discretion and determination of Medical
Industries America Inc. if the unit has not been
misused or tampered with during the warranty
period. Normal maintenance items, as outlined
in this manual and disposable components are
not covered by this warranty. Shipping charges,
if any, shall be paid by the purchaser.

merchantability and fitness

are limited to the duration
of the express limited
warranty and to the extent
permitted by law and all
