Brief History

 System concept originally designed by NAM was

a 2 run system.
 It was decided to change to 1 run system due to
complexity and added leak paths of 2 run
system.
 First 1 run system was successfully installed in
2005 for NAM.

Halliburton Capillary Injection System

 2 system sizes available

 2.750”
 3.813”
 But with the use of a reducing nipple the system
can be run in SVLN profiles up to 5.875”

 Lock Mandrel and FXE Wireline safety valve.

 Injection Conduit.
 Injection Head.
 Chemical Injection Valve.
 Hanger/Bottom Sub
 Standard Wireline insert safety valve which is
opened by the foaming agent.

Chemical Injection Valve

 1in Chemical Injection valve.

 Sits inside the Injection head.
 BKLK-2 CAMCO Valve (NAM)
 1 job did with JM-CI Check Valve from JMI (ENI)

Double Check Valve

 BHA/Double Check Valve can be adapt to

customer requirements.

How it works

Pressure up control line to WLRSV opening pressure

Continue to pressure up control line to WLRSV recommended Hold open pressure

Pressure up control line to XXXpsi to open Camco BKLK-2 Chemical Injection Valve Hold open
pressure + 30 bar (435psi)

Unless the surfactant flow rate is > 3000 bbl/day.

The flow through the valve will be intermittent, with the valve opening and closing as the pump
pressurizes the system.

As the Injection valve opens and closes, the BHA will open and close in sync with it.
Assuming a full column of fluid in capillary string.

How it works:
Running Procedure

• The capillary line is run into the

well via an Injector Head/BOP
assembly.

© 2009 Halliburton. All Rights Reserved. 14

How it works:

• The capillary line and check-

valve assembly is run into the
well in a similar method to CT.

• The Slip Rams close.

• The Capillary line is cut and

Coil tubing is removed

How it works:

• The Safety Valve is connected to the

Capillary line and the assembly is run
into the well with Slick line.

How it works:

• The Safety Valve is set in the TRSV

nipple Profile
•The Wireline Retrievable Safety Valve
can now be opened through the
existing Surface Control Line.

Run Histories

 Around 24 Systems for NAM in Holland since 2005

 5.875”, 4.562”, 3.813”, 2.750”
 1237m till 4125m capillary length
 ¼” Capillary size
 One system for ENI Offshore Italy (march 2010)
 Installation done since 2 months
 PRODUCTIVITY BEFORE INSTALLATION
30.000 SCM/DAY FOR 8 HOURS – AFTER THIS TIME THE WELL DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY MORE DUE TO HYDROSTATIC
PRESSURE OF FORMATION FLUID
WATER 600 L/DAY
 PRODUCTIVITY AFTER INSTALLATION
33.000 SCM/DAY FOR 70 DAYS – AFTER THIS TIME THE WELL WAS SHUT OFF DUE TO SCHEDULED TEMPORARY
ABANDON OF PLATFORM
WATER 900 L/DAY

 ENI plan to have 35 more candidates

 One system for Venture in Holland (Water Injection)

 3.813 system with 3/8” capillary string.

To Conclude

 The design is based on proven Halliburton SSSV

technology
 The main differentiator from our competitors is
that the system can be installed without any
modifications to the wellhead, and therefore
removed easily if required, leaving no trace.
 The system can be installed into an existing
Halliburton safety valve landing nipple profile, or
inside a Halliburton TRSV.
 The system can be installed in various size
profiles, from 2.75” up to 5.875”.
