Listening Self-Assessment

Your HURIER Listening Profile

Each of the questions on this listening self-assessment corresponds with one of six
components of the HURIER listening model: (1) Hearing, (2) Understanding, (3)
Remembering, (4) Interpreting, (5) Evaluating, and (6) Responding. Before completing
the assessment answer these questions:

Respond to each of the following questions concerning your perceptions of how you
listen to others. Use the key below.

5 – always 4 – usually 3 – sometimes 2 – infrequently 1 - never
