Types of Effects Environmental Socio-Cultural Economic: Research Findings

This document summarizes the research findings of a qualitative study on the environmental, socio-cultural, and economic effects of tourism development and beach resorts in local communities in Dahican, Mati City. The study found both positive and negative effects. Positive environmental effects included efforts by the local government to clean tourism sites. Positive socio-cultural effects included increased employment and business opportunities. However, some negative environmental effects were increased waste and water usage by tourists. Some negative socio-cultural effects included disruption of indigenous communities' lifestyles and concerns about cultural influence on children.
