Have technologies like the internet created a more harmonious or a more divided society amidst

globalization? Explain your answer.

The usage of technology nowadays has been undeniable. Almost every one of us owns a
gadget that we can use for our everyday lives. One major thing that completes technology is the
internet. This vast network provides ubiquitous connections as well as interactive communication
virtually. The internet has revolutionized communication, to the extent that it is used as a
medium of everyday communication.

In my opinion, technologies like the internet created a more harmonious society amidst
globalization. It is because people tend to communicate and meet new people with the use of the
internet. Also, the internet is where people can voice out their opinions in just a click. It is used
for exchanging information and for individuals to create content. Through social networking
sites and websites, all of us can gain more knowledge of one’s belief or culture in a society. The
internet is also a tool for most people with an intention to spread awareness about a certain topic
which can benefit society because it helps in reaching a broad audience. The use of the internet is
really important because it lets us understand and connect with people even if it is in a virtual
setting.

Although the internet has some of its disadvantages, we, the users of it should be well
aware of our actions. We should always think about the consequences that we might be getting if
we do something using the internet. It is very important to have a sense of responsibility to avoid
mistakes.
