COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST
Existing Buildings (all classes) – Unauthorised Work or Strata

The following checklist indicates the minimum documentation that is required to be submitted as part of an
Application for Certificate of Building Compliance. Further information may be required after the initial
assessment by the Building Surveyor to determine compliance. For enquiries relating to application
requirements and the building approval process please contact one of the City’s Senior Building Surveyor’s on
9405 5000. Alternatively you can submit your enquiry via enquiries@wanneroo.wa.gov.au

NOTE: size of the fire compartments and the classification of the building.

2 Related Planning Approval No.  
2 Certificate of Building Compliance Application Form completed in full  
3 Fees Payable – See Councils fees and charges at www.wanneroo.wa.gov.au  
4a Documentation to accompany an Application for CBC – For Strata
a) Copy of Notice of Completion on the approved form  
b) Copy of any Occupancy Permit or Building Approval Certificate issued for the
building/s  
c) Evidence that any inspections, tests or conditions that form part of the Building
Permit have been complied with.
 
d) Survey plan  
4b Documentation to accompany an Application for CBC – For all unauthorised work

 Engineer certified plans (as constructed)  


 Energy Efficiency Report  
 Estimated cost of work at current value  
 Evidence of septic approval where unauthorised work was not connected to deep  
sewer
 Photos (1 set) of the elevations of the building / structure  
 Septic Tank Approval – Septic tank approval may be required where unauthorised
work was not connected to deep sewer. A check can be made by calling Water Corp  
on 131 395
