chain on large-scale 3D printers and advanced CAD software. This advance technology allows to
explore new, modern forms in furniture industry. Many renowned brands like IKEA are now
presenting this advanced and modern furniture line in the furniture industry. Because of simple,
modern outlook and less costly, the demand of 3D printed furniture increasing massively.
But unfortunately, in Bangladesh furniture industry are still struggling to introduce 3D printed
furniture among the consumers. Lack of advanced 3D printers and software Bangladesh furniture
industry cannot produce this prototype furniture. As a result, companies have imported the
machineries and workers to produce the product. This will increase the production cost. In
Bangladesh Leading furniture brands follows competitive price strategy. As it is a news product
and high cost, the consumer demand will be very low. As a new technology in Bangladesh, it
will raise many legal concerns too.
To introduce 3D printed furniture Bangladesh furniture industry can solve this problem by
following these steps
 Create Brand value: As this prototype 3D printed are new in Bangladesh, Companies
have to create the brand value. However, companies have to import the equipment and
labor, the production cost will be high. As a result, the price of the product also will be
high. To create a proper brand value can increase the demand of product. Loyal consume
will willing to pay the price of the product even though it is high.
 Legal issues: As it is a new technology it can create legal issues In Bangladesh. If
Bangladesh take initiatives to develop copy right issue and the licensing system for
industrial manufacturers and allow to import 3D printers and scanners only for furniture
manufacture purpose. Then furniture industry can easily import the equipment and create
the new product.
