Rachel Archer Recommendation 6
We are writing to recommend Ms. Rachel Archer as a nanny for your family. We are a family of 4 (+ pup)
living in Pine Lake, Sammamish, WA. We have 2 active boys, ages 15 months and 4 years, who
absolutely adore their nanny.
Rachel became part of our family at the beginning of the pandemic, and has been a pillar of joy, strength
and consistency for us and our children during this unprecedented time in life and in our careers. I am a
school principal, and my husband works for Microsoft as a software engineer. Both our jobs had varying
formats this past year, both virtually/work from home, and in-person. In addition, we collectively
weathered numerous renovations around our home. Rachel continuously demonstrated flexibility and
responsiveness in support our family through the transitions.
The first thing we want to highlight about Rachel is her communication and punctuality. Rachel always
takes part in family meetings, is clear and kind in her communication, is punctual, and arranges any
personal appointments collaboratively with us. Our youngest son experienced colic and specific
allergy/food needs, and Rachel consistently kept a detailed food journal daily and provided a verbal daily
recap of the day’s events at the conclusion of the day. She followed specific notes about feeding, etc.
accurately.
An additional strength of Rachel’s is her calm demeanor, patience, and ability to “experience the minds”
of our kids. It’s easy to tell within seconds of sharing space with Rachel in the presence of children, that
little humans are her joy and passion. Our boys laugh with her, respect her, and even after a year, are
sad to see her go in the afternoon and bouncingly happy to see her arrive in the morning.
The final strength of Rachel’s we want to celebrate is her ability to work with parents to make their visions
for their kids come alive. When we provide her with multiple activities, weekly “mystery boxes,” and
suggestions for parks or COVID-safe locations, she happily adventures with our boys, tries new crafts
and experiments, engages in nature activities and creative play, and asks questions or shares facts to get
our boys thinking. And all while smiling. We are so grateful.
Recently, we were offered two spaces at a private school on the Eastside that is highly competitive.
Given the social implications of COVID, we decided to enroll our children in the school to support their
social and academic growth needs. For this reason, we are seeking to ensure that Rachel is suitably
employed with a family that is in need of a dependable, experienced and warm nanny.
Please feel free to contact us should you have any specific questions; we are happy to support Rachel’s
process of finding her next long-term family.
Warmly,
