    - Workplace injuries in Singapore declined in 2020 due to work stoppages during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of fatal injuries fell to 1.1 from 1.2 in 2019, major injuries declined to 574 from 629, and minor injuries decreased to 10,857 from 13,111. - Construction remained the top contributor to fatal injuries. Falls from heights was the leading cause of fatal injuries while slips, trips and falls continued as the main cause of major injuries. - Fewer injuries occurred in 2020 for the construction, transportation and storage, and accommodation and food services industries compared to previous years. The exception was manufacturing which saw more fatal injuries.
